- I don't know how and where to start.
I am still crying, I cried the whole night and it feels like I'll never be happy again.
Merlin is over for good and I don't know how to handle that.
I've been following and loving this show for about 3 years now. I stumbled upon it while studying math and my TV was running as a sideline. And there was Merlin (1x09) on TV and well, forget math and discover your favourite show...
The show got a huge place in my heart and it will always have.
One of my friend always says that it is just a stupid show about a little guy talking with dragons but for me it isn't. It is a great story about friendship, faith, magic and especially two guys and their endless love for eachother (you can see it in any way you want but seriously, nobody can ever deny their love for eachother). Merlin and Arthur's relationship is and will always be one of the strongest and most beautiful relashionships EVER portrayed in history. (No, I don't wanna talk about them in the last ep now because I would burst out crying again and we don't want that because then I'll never get to finish writing this description.)
The show made me cry tears of laughter but also a lot of tears of pain. If I've known form the beginning what we'll have to face in the end, maybe I wouldn't have sold my sould to the show.. okay.. that's not true. Because I still would have.
"It's better to feel pain, than nothing at all..." to quote the Lumineers.
I am so thankful for everything this show gave me. Not only hours of joy while watching but also for letting me be part of a wonderful fandom.
This goes to you Merlin fandom: Thank you so much! I cannot remember ever feeling so at home in a fandom and to feel so like an actual part of it. Can we please always stick together? We'll keep the show and everything around it alive.
I never have to feel alone with this show.
A lot of the other shows I love(d) and watch(ed) I always had to go through them alone. Sometimes I've never really felt like part of the fandom and/or I had nobody to talk about it. But not with Merlin.
I've found great friends here, wonderful people to talk to and people I really care about. Thank you, so much.
I can remember the day when I showed Merlin to my little brother and the day when I introduced it to my little sister..
And since these days we've always watched it together when it was on TV, we cried together discussed together, fangirled together. This is like one of the most beautiful things imo, sharing the love, never being in this alone.
And I also have to admit that without the show I might have quit vidding about half a year ago. At this time it seemed like I wasn't able to put anything together anymore and it didn't look as anybody cared about my videos.. but then I got most of the eps from my friend Tessa and well, yeah my inspiration came back. And it seemed as some people actually enjoyed my work. Thank you so much for that. Thank you so much for your support, comments and everything guys.
I am an emotional mess right now. There is so much I want to say and I don't know how to put it into words...
And to this video..
I've been working on this video for some time now and I've cried a lot while doing it. Camelot has been like a home for me and it will always be for us all.
Can you remember Merlin coming to Camelot in the Dragon's Call? Ye, he came and build a home for himself, for his friends, for us and for so much other people and characters we got to know through 5 wonderful seasons.
But there has always to come a time to say goodbye, hasn't it?
And I guess the time is now...
I really tried to put everything that makes the show what it is in this video; to remember why we loved it so much and why we will always do.

I know this sounds cheesy but this show got me through my hard times, and still gets me through them. No matter what happens I know that I can count on it and the characters to make me feel better.
That’s why the characters mean so much to me. They aren’t real but they are. I love you Merlin.

That was absolutely beautiful. I have tears in my eyes right now, and after reading your notes I'm even more emotional. I feel exactly the same as you do, and this video is so perfect. Camelot is one of the homes that I keep buried deep in my heart, along with Hogwarts, Camp Half-blood and the tardis, and I know that I can always visit it when I need it. I've never loved a cast or a show as much as I loved Merlin. Without Merlin I probably wouldn't be writing anymore, and without it I wouldn't have friends all over the world. I just recently finished Merlin for the first time at the recommendation of a friend and I??? My heart???? I can't explain this feeling in my chest?? I'm so glad I watched it because it's beautiful and I yearn for more but at the same time know it's been laid to rest, and honestly the ending seemed to fit so well aaaaahhhhhh yes, time to go watch it again. I used to watch this all the time last year, and now every time I hear this song I think of Merlin :) And now, I just watched this, and I'm remebering those days of watching the show. Thank you so much for making this :)
The biggest difference between the series and a movie is that a movie is short. With a series a person gets attached to the characters and thus, it is very sad when the series ends especially when the hero dies. I bawled like a baby when Robin Hood died. I bawled like a baby when Arthur died. I wish the actors all the luck in the world. They have brought me joy for five yrs. A big thank you to the cast and crew of Merlin.

I just watched the finale for the first time last night, and now I'm looking for fan videos to fill the void. I'm not always crazy about fan videos for songs I love because I think of how I'd do it differently but this one... WOW! This is perfect! This is easily the best Merlin fan video I've found yet.
I cried so much. I started watching Merlin this year so it was kinda late and I don't know why I didn't watch it before (well in France it's not well-known at all) but I cried even more while reading you description. I feel the same way, the same "home" feeling and the same opinion about how Merlin & Arthur relationship is one of the best I've ever known.
I already miss the show and just thinking about Arthur makes me cry sometimes.

To Build a Home by The Cinematic Orchestra has been my favorite song since I first heard it a few months ago. It's the only song that will make me stop and think about my life no matter what I am doing when I hear it. This video is so worthy of this song. I love the show Merlin more than any other show ever. It has taught us so much for being a TV show. It's an inspiration and gives hope. Thank you for this tribute...

The only reason someone hit the dislike button is because the show is over. This has been one of the best tribute videos I've seen. I didn't cry during the finale because I was so angry that they killed off Arthur. Now that I've watched this video, I'm crying. It finally hit me that it's over. I can't believe how tragic the ending was.

I feel numb inside, like I can never feel again and it's stupid because it's just a show and people judge me for it, but Merlin is over and no matter what people say I thought that finale was beautiful and I can't handle this. This video just made my sadness anew.

i first watched this on that Christmas day (thats when it came out in Australia) and i remember crying myself to sleep on christmas :( i miss merlin so much! and coming back to watch this now, i think i may have cried more this time :'(

Gosh. Just... I could just... Hold back my tears, but suddenly a dead Arthur appeared and I was just like... Sitting in front of my laptop with just too much feelings and tears. Good job, but... I miss Merlin. I'm just wishing that Arthur would rise now.

I've been in the merlin fandom for years. I still remember clearly my reaction after the last ep. My Christamas was ruined: I spent an evening crying in the bathroom, at night I couldn't sleep because I kept dreaming about the show etc...It was such a difficult goodbye! Most of the characters met a tragic ending. Not just Merlin and Arthur. I was disappointed by a lot of stuff. Anyway I still love the show and I miss it so reading your story made me emotional all over again :') About your video...Well it is a masterpiece!! So here I am, touched by a video of a show I finished almost six years ago :') Thank you.

everyone tells me its stupid to feel like i do, all empty inside having no idea of what feelings to show or words to say, to them its just a tv-show.. you can tell they have never been true fans of something! the way you managed to gather all the perfection from merlin in 6 minutes is just amazing! i cried through this entire video, the funny moments suddenly feel sad and im left all empty :( one of the best videos ive ever seen, thank you for sharing! xx

I sort of never got around to watching Merlin. Then, the finale. Then, someone posted this on tumblr. I watched your video, and decided to watch Merlin after all. I guess, your wonderful, brilliant video was the final push I needed. And oh, what a journey I had. Now, after finishing the series, this video takes on a whole new level of emotion. I just wanted to say thank you, for giving me that final push and thank you for making this.
