- In this video we docked in Ocean Cay - MSC marine reserve private island. Today is Day 2 of our cruise vlog series and what a beautiful day to spend on this magnificent island. We were able to leisurely get off the ship as late as we want to and don't have to rushed ourselves since the ship docked for an overnight stay. We are so excited to spend the night here at Ocean Cay.
The island is very beautiful and has several beaches to choose from. We decided to stay at Lighthouse Bay to get an awesome view of the ship, the lighthouse and good snorkeling spots. The islands offers a large buffet for lunch and several food trucks all over the island that serves hamburgers, cheeseburgers, fries and lobster rolls. We also got the chance to experience the infamous lighthouse lights show and beach party at night and what an amazing experience. We love Ocean Cay and will definitely be back .

Carnival cruiser here. How does it compare to Half Moon Cay?
Hello Sammy. Thanks for watching. Both are very similar but staying overnight was the thing that edged out Ocean Cay. Also, Ocean cay has more beaches instead of just one giant beach. Each beach had their own vibe to it too!
Question about the smart elevator. What happens if you have three people and you only press once?
Then the elevator thinks only one person is getting in the elevator. You take a chance that only one person can get in. Then you'll have to wait longer.
Hi Elizabeth. Great question! Like Shedney said, you will wait longer. 99% of the people I encountered at the elevators complained about it while waiting. I simply asked them if they knew how to use it and they gave the explanation of only pressing the button once. When that happens, the elevator "thinks" only one person is getting into the elevator. If most people do what you were asking about, the elevator will be full BUT it thinks only 3 people are in it, and it will stop for other people who have called the elevator. Then people cannot get in the elevator, and they will be frustrated. Hope this helps!
