perez hit the nail on the head. i feel like a lot of us as viewers are your everyday working class people and we love watching bds bc y'all are everyday working class people that made it out and are living the dream. we love the content and want to support in any way possible. ever since the breezy drop, viewers have been sensitive to the price points of the merch and when they saw the online prices of the drinks, they felt they had to say something. either way, it's to the moon and I look forward to getting my hands on a 'have a day'

Cold cuts had the most heartfelt response on the price easily. He didn’t throw out price points at us or make comparisons. He understands what it’s actually about.

No, what he said was it is comparable when you take into account them shipping it to your door. And they said they anticipate the price going down once it’s available locally. Which is all accurate.

I respect the open talk and accountability on the Have A Day pricing. And I’ll support BDS all day long. But, you fellas knew what the pricing was and what it would be like. Just like Breezy. Breezy is on par with the big apparel brands. Which is not cheap for any average joe.
Now, with that being said, you guys have earned your success. You earned the right to charge whatever you want for the quality of product.
So, if a change does happen, that’s rad. If not? It’s just something a lot of us will appreciate from afar but continue to support the channel.

What I'm saying is, had they said one sentence about 'hey this is online only, retail hopefully coming soon' or whatever to prepare their audience in the release video, I don't think there would have been nearly the uproar. So yes in my opinion they dropped the ball on properly communicating wtf was going on.
Sorry we all don't have a major in consumer good logistics, but based on the feedback from a ton of people I don't think that is as wild of a take as you may think it is.

I think part of the problem is that people have felt 'priced out' on every offering that you guys have presented to us. An honest question that i will pose to you 5 is how many $100 hoodies did you own when you had regular jobs?? You can't be 'on par' with the market on golf apparel and claim to be for working class people

Let's be realistic it's not the guys fault that golf merchandise, be it clubs,shoes,apparel, is completely overpriced. Almost 400 dollars for a golf bag or 700 for a golf smart watch is insane

100% what Joey said, BDS got a large part of its fanbase by being relatable; just keep that in mind at the end of the day. You all earned where you are at and nobody is hating on that, but relatability will always come into question the more ads/promos/etc. you all promote. Maybe just tone down the ads a bit in the videos so they aren't saturated with promos.

The price was one thing and I get it. I think it’s more of the hype of “this is for the fans” and all it was, was another expensive item and didn’t feel like it was something for us fans. Maybe some of us thought someone new was joining the crew or would be a huge giveaway, just some examples. Felt a little misleading is all. Still a huge fan and will continue to support.

Thanking the fans for getting them to where they are now (Callaway deal, playing with pros, youtube revenue, Breezy Polos and Breezy Invitational, collabs, etc), thats totally fine. I get it and i'm happy to watch and support these guys.
But to come out and spin a BDS high noon as "we worked so hard on this for you, the fans" while boating around florida is so dumb lmao. You introduced a product that already exists on the market, but with your branding. Like yeah man, THIS is exactly what I was missing in my life, thank you so much BDS! Very happy these dudes are making a great living and continue to rack up deals and money, but this is not "for us" and don't spin it that way.
End of the day its not a big deal at all, no one has to buy it and they sold out so obviously a huge success, just pretty annoying.
The more that advertising and commercialism creeps into what you put out, the more negative reactions you are likely to have. Handle your growth and success with care and delicacy. You are all imminently watchable and the content is fun. You've got the right recipe, just grow with care.

A lot the hate probably could have been managed by managing expectations. When it’s billed as a “game changer” or “biggest news in BDS history”. Probably could have just been billed as a great chance for us to support the boys.

The issue was “the hype”. The price then exasperated the let down of said hype. At the very least, you should have noted during the launch video that you understood pricing was initially crazy. But that you expected it to come down once it hit retail. The accountability here is ok, I guess. But a lot of excuses as well b

Thanks for pulling the curtain back for us on the drink topic, boys. I’ll admit i felt a little hoodwinked when you hyped up the reveal, and it was another product. Personally, just seems like a lot of the industry sells out and it makes me fearful that my favorite channel is getting away from the content and away from the heart of your most ardent fans. But hearing your genuine explanation, it makes me feel better that this isn’t just a cash grab, but a true entrepreneurial endeavor where you’ll get the economies of scale and price point aligned with the rest of the market once it’s in retail stores. The reality is that “have a day” is a lifestyle, and shouldn’t simply be contained to the links. I think it’s a smart play to expand and it seems like you’ve got a good grip on the business side to make it happen. You guys are the best, thanks for all you do to keep us entertained every week and for the empathy you brought in this pod!

Amazing these guys got the world (and all of us) by the balls - literally thousands of upset comments about pricing on last video. The whole discussion in this video, they never once said they got pricing wrong. They said we are charging you more now, less later (hopefully). They said it's comparable to already established brands etc... but never addressed the real reason everyone is upset. Nevertheless, comments in this video everyone is happy again. Bob is right, he can do anything and we will all just be on board.

Props for addressing the concerns, although I do have some pushback. Perez saying this is premium product at a premium price when he is on record as not liking tequila. We all saw the video, if you guys had "insert light beer" or "insert mixed drink" in your hands for that long you would have housed them, you took sips like it was piping hot coffee not a buzz to be found. I enjoy supporting products when they make sense towards the brand. I love cigars and BDS, but if you guys put out a BDS cigar there is no chance I would buy that. Same goes for this, you are admitting you know nothing about the space but want to charge a premium price for a premium product you know nothing about, it doesn't make sense to me.

The true mistake was the hype. "Biggest announcement in Bob Does Sports history" was too much. Could have released the drink online and hyped the retail release instead. Going forward I will ignore hype for announcements and just wait to see. Glad you guys sold out though. I'll buy when it is in retail.
Appreciate the boys addressing the comments on the release. I'll raise my hand and say I was taken aback by the price with shipping, left a comment thinking you had priced yourself out of the market. Hopefully hits my area liquor stores soon, unfortunately we have the 3 tier system and the pricing is set by the distributors but I doubt they would price it higher than the competition.

You guys talking about it shows that you actually do care about your audience and for the most part is received well. You will still have some people that will stay upset at the prices and to be honest yeah your prices are steep. If Sunday Swagger can price their polos at 59 each which are great quality polos, I don’t see why your polos have to be 89 each. Like you said we want to support you, but the price points are just way too high to justify me buying a polos and that’s just to have ONE polo. If you want your working class audience to support you come out with cheaper products so we can support you. Come out with a different line of polos that we can afford. Your price points are closer to high end brands like Malbon and even Nike polos are cheaper than your polos. We love your content, we stay for the entire videos, come out with a cheaper line of polos so we can support.
How to apologize- “we know we’ve been charging premium pricing for our products, but since we don’t have a massive production line reducing costs, the pricing likely isn’t to change” vrs “nah it’s close enough in price”…. Joey Da, thanks man, you’re legit.

Bobby Boy we're gonna need a Hot Ones x Taco Bell Mashup Challenge. Potential rule would be re-do a shot for 1 taco + 1 hot sauce, and each time someone uses the redo, the next one gets hotter. Use happy dad from nelk as an example... 21.99 for 12 seltzers of 5% a little pricey but still fair. Stop saying premium liquor as well... how do we know that?
