Arizonans see northern lights in sky due to geomagnetic storm

Right around midnight was able to see it here in AZ!!! Such an amazing sight!
I went outside with my daughter,a unique nature phenomenon
She is in her first year photography class and she made a few stunning pictures.
I'm in Minnesota. A friend of mine from here went to Texas for the eclipse. Tonight she said this might have been even better!
I'm in central Cochise County near Elfrida and they're dancing bright in red, pink and green! It happened at 12:05-12:15 AM down here. I have pictures. :)
That's beautiful, the cactus with the gentle backlight of the charged particles painting the sky. I think it'll paint that.

You have to see it with a phone with night vision ❤ hope that helps 😊
You won't but take a photo in the dark on night mode with your phone towards north & you'll only see it on the photo, not on your screen.

12 midnight I can see them. You have to be in a very dark area.
Increasing your phones exposure allows for the colors to pop

We we're very lucky. I live in a pretty urbanised part of the Netherlands (Alkmaar, 100k people), but despite all the light pollution I was still able to see the northern lights last night in the middle of the city. Really amazing to see them once.
That was actually a shockingly good concise explanation of the aurora effect, starting at 0:53.

Your most likely not gonna see it but you can right now by taking a photo on night mode in the dark.

Long exposures make for nice photos but not realistic to what we can see with the naked eye here in AZ.
I can see them from Verde Village/ Cottonwood looking towards Flag. Not very bright, pale, shifting vertical streaks of red and green. Yippie!
I got about 10 minutes of them, that's all, around midnight.

You can’t see it with the naked eye. You have to take a picture of the sky.
All of us in fountain hills and scottsdale saw it with our naked eyes
Lol. Many of these photos are complete BS. Visible only with digital cameras on smart phones these images require up to 10 seconds of shutter time. Nobody actually saw many of these images with the naked eye.
Even when they're only white/grey but dancing as fast as they were tonight it's beautiful. Minnesota... better chance of seeing the northern lights and less chance of venomous critters gettin ya lol
