Lyrics:
Now here you are, you're in full flower
You're flexible in all your power
You've got all the sunlight and the air that you need
They tried to bury us but they didn’t know we were seeds
Now here you stand hour after hour
Strong as an oak, tall as a tower
The storm keeps on raging, but you never pay no heed
They tried to bury us but they didn’t know we were seeds
Somehow everything eventually dreams someday
Somehow everyone eventually dreams someday
Now see you shining, strong and clear
No one can stop a good idea
Nobody like you
There’s nobody like you
I was a flower
I was an oak
I was provoked and when I awoke
I started grazing for all the things that I need
They tried to bury us but they didn’t know we were seeds
They tried to bury us but they didn’t know we were seeds
Somehow everything eventually dreams someday
Somehow everyone eventually dreams someday
They knocked you down, erased your name
You stood your ground and wouldn’t change
You’ve found your place now, standing alongside the trees
They tried to bury us but they didn’t know we were seeds
You are a star
And you are hope
Smoke signals in the air evoke
From the darkest depths that our hearts can be freed
They tried to bury us but they didn’t know we were seeds
They tried to bury us but they didn’t know we were seeds
Somehow everything eventually dreams someday
Somehow everyone eventually dreams someday
Somehow everything eventually dreams someday
Somehow everyone eventually dreams someday

I turned on CBC radio to help me wash the dishes. This song was playing. His lyrics captivated me, stopped me in my kitchen, I listened absolutely spellbound! The timbre of his voice spoke to my soul. This song has come into my life at a time when it was absolutely necessary, and has become an anthem for my daughter and I. What a beautiful man and gorgeous video; I watch it almost daily. Thank you to CBC for continuing to play our music!
Ditto. Thank you for sharing your song to a world that needs healing and peace.
Heard this lilting song on CBC Radio and pulled my car over to write this artist's name. I love it.
Love The depth of the line, "They Tried To Bury Us But They Didn't Know We Were Seeds". Absolutely filled with meaning.

I love this guy! He is aired regularly in NW Alaska.
Cbc radio find. Keep rocking brother! Love it
One of the greatest songs I've stumbled upon in a very long time. And seeing him play it live is a whole other level. It makes you reflect and is that perfect mix of intense, but hopeful and uplifting, Simply incredible.
Nailed it
Absolutely gorgeous and beautifully understated. Thank you
Wow, what a beautiful video. I have been listening to the album for more than a month now, but it all resonates with me so much that it has been surprisingly quite difficult for me to absorb it all at once. I was mostly listening to the same 2 or 3 songs over and over again and have only now gotten to really watching this video. Got chills watching it the first few times. Now it is starting to grow on me. Eventually I'll be able to listen to the whole album all at once, with the songs in order, to hear the whole story. 😊
This guy is just so talented.
This is a really great song. I love it.
Beautiful in every way, dear Julian. Thank you. ❤️
Thanks for such a great song Julian. I'm going through a hard time at the moment but your song gives hope. I love it when i comes on the radio.

Brilliant! A truly wonderful song. A friend of mine mentioned he was going to a Julian Taylor concert in London next month, so I decided to check your music out. So glad I did! Awesome stuff!
My social worker at rehab showed us this song and i was captivated. the lyrics can be interpreted in a variety of ways.
This is so beautiful.
Lyrics are a daily alarm clock for my Black teens. Powerful
Man it's so well done, those vibrations are healing myself
thanks 💖🌱
I recently discovered End of Earth by Lord Huron. Such pain and hope. I desired more of it’s kind. I rarely channel-surf Sirius. But today I did. THIS was playing on Indigiverse. Truly a kismet moment
I absolutely love this song and was wondering if there was any chords or sheet music, I would love to play this myself
This is so profound. The soul as earth and nurturing soil, the seeds as indomitable spirit ascending, rising up, taking their place in the world…wow. From a non-indigenous person, nia:wen kowa for this beautiful song!

Wow, this hit my heart so unexpectedly. #FreePalestine #AllPowerToThePeople #FreeTheLand
great song...great lyrics...inspires freedom, too bad you had to be fully vaccinated to attend his shows in Canada...I wish more artists like this took a firm stand against tyranny- would make their songs that much more powerful.
From the river to the SEA.... Palestinian people will awaken again
