I guess I had bad connections and slept w/ the wrong people then. She has been damn lucky, this latina braud from the bronx. I worked for the State of La. Dept of Labor and Dept of Education, 30 years total, all low level secretarial / administrative assistant jobs, didn't get paid much, worked overtime which I never got paid for and never got any Social Security except for the last 4 years I worked for the State. That's why I am now working part-time at a mexican restaurant in Central Texas, as a dishwasher, another low level job, to gain those additional medicare quarters that I didn't get from the State of La.. Since I now live in a small town 50 miles southwest of Dallas, as of March, 2016. I am 63 years old and single, by the way, never married, too.

Work smarter and harder. Honestly I have worked 70 hour weeks and it is habitual , success is based off few factors. Getting enough sleep, being on time, etc. Now I am making a small business and can honestly say it is much harder because there is no mold to fit into. Success is measured solely off how I allocate my time and that is more pressure than punching the clock, which I’m still doing as well.

To a point, yes. Work hard (and many of us do) but to work harder than everyone else in your choosen career also means your lacking in other areas of life.. such as family. I guess I had bad connections and slept w/ the wrong people then. She has been damn lucky, this latina braud from the bronx. I worked for the State of La. Dept of Labor and Dept of Education, 30 years total, all low level secretarial / administrative assistant jobs, didn't get paid much, worked overtime which I never got paid for and never got any Social Security except for the last 4 years I worked for the State. That's why I am now working part-time at a mexican restaurant in Central Texas, as a dishwasher, another low level job, to gain those additional medicare quarters that I didn't get from the State of La.. Since I now live in a small town 50 miles southwest of Dallas, as of March, 2016. I am 63 years old and single, by the way, never married, too.

Kinda disrespectful way of putting it. There are "normal" people out there working 3 jobs to barely get by. Working physically and mentally draining jobs for 70 hours a week and they're not millionaires.
Work smarter and harder. Honestly I have worked 70 hour weeks and it is habitual , success is based off few factors. Getting enough sleep, being on time, etc. Now I am making a small business and can honestly say it is much harder because there is no mold to fit into. Success is measured solely off how I allocate my time and that is more pressure than punching the clock, which I’m still doing as well.

I really love JLo, but can she really attribute all of her success in the entertainment business to her work ethic? She's J Lo! She's super gorgeous and charismatic. Strangely, I am starting to be put off by this "work harder, never sleep" mentality. I mean, it obviously works, but it just seems like a stale, outdated and materialistic idea to perpetuate. Instead of celebrity parties time can be spend with family. Instead of award shows time can be invested in house and gardening works. At the end of your life there is no golden medal waiting at you. If you are happy with your own level, everything is good. If you are chasing fame, money, connections, opportunities just for the sake to impress others, that‘s not it.

To a point, yes. Work hard (and many of us do) but to work harder than everyone else in your choosen career also means your lacking in other areas of life.. such as family. No one can do it all 100 percent in every aspect of life it's not possible. Her babies came when she could afford help but to say doing it all on her own just makes regular folks working just as hard feel less than and that's not ok.
