Haha, amazing place to live Stipan, I envy you ;) Especially that corner of the island is very pristine and quiet. And no we did not find it haha, well hidden :) Do you know if there's another cool abandoned place like this? I believe this was the highlight of the island.
@@ExploringtheUnbeatenPath there is Jurjeva luka near Pasadur. it also has old JNA tunnels plus one submarine tunnel. It is highlight for sure, especially since its barren, no trees, facing the open sea so you can see Italy on a clear day.
THe bunker at the beginning up to 6 minutes is not for vehicle storage, but for an anti-ship battery called BROM. BROM stands for in Croatian - "Baterija raketa obala more" or in english "land-sea missile battery". The storage behind the big blast door was for storing the missiles, that is also why there is that big overhead crane in the middle of the tunnel... to transfer the missile from the storage room to the main gallery and load onto the missile system. :) Another identical battery was located on the island of Vis (Croatia), Mali Lošinj (Croatia) and Radovići (Montenegro). One was on the mainland as a training system or a reserve. You should visit island Vis. There is a lot to explore. There are also left-behind guns there in the coastal defenses :)
@@ExploringtheUnbeatenPath You really need to learn some respect. You cannot just camp where ever you like and climb over locked gates, especially in an ex military zone. The locals on this island are a special breed, im very surprised they called the police, usually they take care of these situations in their own way and face to face. The police turned up with undercover officers because someone would have reported you for camping illegally. I have family from that island and have been to these sites many times as a teenager i live on an island close by and was considering inviting you over and giving you a tour of mass graves, and bunkers with lots of abandoned military equipment from WW2 plus other military sites that would suit your channel. My father, aunt and grandparents were rescued off Vis during WWII by the British and were taken to a refugee camp in Bari, Italy before moving to a camp in Egypt. The grey wool blanket you lifted up in the barracks was one of the same blankets my aunt carried with her to the refugee camp in El Shaat, Egypt and eventually to here in America. She still talks of how everyone filled their pockets with raisins, dates and bread wearing as many clothes as possible before leaving our ancestral homeland.
I laughed when Bob said " that was the year I was born" when looking at some military clothes labels. In 1985 I was in Belgrade and Zagreb on my way through via JAT, stopped at Zagreb and officials took me to air crash memorial where my cousins died in 1976 after a mid air collision.

It's sad to think that young men, sat in those places, scared sometimes, probably more often than not. Not sure of what may come...also seeing a beautiful sunset and imagining that war did not exist at that second. They weren't allowed to show weakness or emotion, but have to wonder what they thought. Now we can see the odd video of aged German soldiers speaking of their experiences at that time. Sadly so much of that awful time is already forgotten. How terrible it must have been.
I sailed to this Island, near Zaglav noticed the gun tarrets still in place. Unfortunately we had a tight schedule and didn't have time to explore. Great video 😅
