  • Want to make a split hoodie or a split sweater at home? This video is all about the process from cutting to sewing the garments together. I recently came across a crazy instagram page called @defective_garments and got inspired to make a similar creation. Hey bro, I saw the same ig page the other day and I was super blown away by the designs and thought that I should start making my own costume sweaters. I would love if you keep up with the tutorials.
I’m thinking about buying a sewing machine but I don’t have any clue where to start in the costume clothes world lol
So any advice will be welcome. I will keep checking your videos.

Besides that, now that I know how to sew to a certain level, I want to make some “getting started with sewing” videos and hopefully inspire people to start at home.
That being said, you have awesome CZcams creators in that space one is called “withwendy” for example.
      Enjoy your day :)

I love your sweater! Just a note as a 55 year sewist, if you have stretch material even same material sometimes the 2 sides won't sew together evenly. First pin each end and at points in middle,. Use a pusher of some kind to ease in under foot. Loosen top thread a bit. If possible loosen presser foot a bit. Some use walking foot but I hever have. I also hold like a hammock, front and back. Stretch a tiny tiny bit while going under foot. Not against foot. Practice on scraps. Fiddly materials put parchment paper under fabric. I only straight stich I learned on machines that only had that. I do zip zag seams after sometimes.
