Making a game where you get sucked into your own (bad) code

- I made a cryptic puzzle game in a week about a developer who gets sucked into their own code!
I was challenged by Logitech to make a game in 7 days and record the process in a Devlog. I LOVE GAME JAMS. I definitely want to do more short videos like this, maybe collaborate with some other indie game dev CZcamsrs, who knows! Really had fun on this one.

the way the folder has its own pocket space when you go into it and the animations are all so satisfying

The style of this game is genuinely so charming and the idea of walking into the folders is so cool!

The funny part is that if there are any bad coding in this game, he can just say that it is part of the theme of you being a bad coder.
Wow, if you decided to make this a FULL game like with cutscenes more enemies like for example imagine a hacker that could do some crazy stuff to a level like modifying its terrain or like copies of the player but with black and purple textures that try killing you, this would be really cool

I have the mouse (got it before I saw the vid) and the smooth scrolling is amazing. i have it on a setting so when I move the scroll wheel slower it goes in the normal tactile way, but when I move it faster it's buttery and amazing. two week battery life, usb c charging, and you can actually use it while it's charging (magic mouse could never). huge recommend

No joke, I have seen this whole concept before and wanted a full game out of it.
There is a wad file for SRB2 which adds a custom boss fight where an OC walks up to you and then opens the console and prints bad code and you have to fix it.
I love these kind of 4th wall breaks.

@@jamessapp4043 It's not really the same concept, seeing as how Baba Is You requires you to rearrange blocks of code to find a solution, whereas this game is requiring you to solve puzzles using buggy, already existing code.
This is now my all time favourite Game Jam Video ever. It might even edge out the Ted talk one as my favourite of yours too!

Man, I love your humour and just overall your amazing quality in development! I’ve seen so many people just go simple in style during game jams (and that’s a valid choice, too! :]) but i really haven’t ever seen someone focus so much on the shaders, the menu, the quality of the graphics- all of that stuff!
And it payed off! You *nailed* that style! I wouldn’t be surprised if I saw something like this from an small game development studio, much less from one person! :D

To fix those script errors at min 9:30 with the external program try going to preferences -> External tools -> Regenerate project files
