Shout out to Victor. That was cool of him. I can't believe how fast she started. I'm stoked about Cameron being back.
I don't know why would someone dislike video like this! cool build Man (Y)
Lol I had to go back to the top to check!!
Nissan owners bro, they are just so jealous all they have is 👎
Dislikes are just as good as likes to the CZcams algorithm they are still a viewer
And now, we can thank YT for disabling us from seeing the number of dislikes. 😒
I start your videos thinking, "I could do this!" Then you do some next level man shit and then I'm like, "Well, I will just enjoy the show."
Its always something aint it lol my mom always said “If it has tires or testicles its gonna give you problems” 😂💀
My dad used to say if it has tits and transmission
it will be give you Royal problems
@@mpapirico I like that one better lol
@@hunterm.172 i was told that if it has tits, tires or a tail ..... you are better off renting it.
Hell yea!! I'm pumped that it worked out!
Thanks!! Works like a champ!
Victor I appreciate the look out for Austin. I can't believe how fast she started. Good lookin.
That was awesome of you to help out!
On the vsv. Switch the hoses around on the switch . I had one do that and I swapped the vacuum lines around and it stopped.
It was probably the fueling with the old ecu that made it start slower before you swapped it
Yeahhh dawg!! She's ripping hard
She’s a ripper
Ollpl
Cheers for listening to my idea of plug welding the chassis brace, looks great mate!
I don't fully understand what happened there. How did that make it stronger?
Do I remember correctly you had the rear axle universal joint totally smashed? Was it noticeable on the test drive? 😄 So cool that someone values these trucks in the US too👌 I'm from Finland (yeah not my real name🤣) and the diesel version of this is like the golden standard of pickups here. Just turbo swapped mine 😎
Stick with the aisin locking hubs found them at RockAuto for about $100 each, the other aftermarket locking hubs don't have the tapered cones for around the studs
Had the same with mine. Replace the brass sleeve in the hub the cv comes through. As a quick fix, and a way to grease in future, Get a spare of one of the big wheel bearing nuts, weld on a pipe about 1.5” long with a cap and put a grease nipple in it. Remove one of the two wheel bearing lock down nuts and thread on the new grease tool you made. Grease until a small amount comes through on backside. Someone actually makes and sells this tool but super easy to make!!
Nice dude! Makes me really wanna get my '95 3.4 yota back on the road.
Gotta love tune ups it's alot of fun making things better
Austin I agree with you, box frames rust from the inside out. After all, it's not a numbers matching restoration. 20 more years should suffice.
You need to follow Por15 instructions exactly as they are written. Otherwise it will peel off like paper.
Sounds pretty rad bro
Yep best stuff. Only the sun kills it so I put a paint over it
Was there a snapring/circlip at the end of that cv holding it in place? Maybe it's further in the hub assembly (cant remember 100%) but check that as when i first bought my truck had similar sounds bought 2 new cv's turned out just needed a set of snaprings as previous owner never put them back so cv's had way too much play.
Yeah I noticed it was missing the C-clip on the CV axle right outside the brass bushings. The 12m bolt on the end it for the locking hubs or drive flange. Without the clip there is extra in and out play.
Man I hope this thing sees a supercharger at some point in its life :)
Me too, the TRD superchargers are coming up used fairly often so maybe he will snatch on up. Those 3.4L need all the help they can get on the low end. They are complete dogs at low rpm but make good power once you get over 3000 rpm or so.
Front CV brass bushes. I had to do mine on my Hilux Surf. Expensive little bushes and even after I replaced them the CV's still had some play, but it fixed the binding up noises.
So informative. Thank you.
i love the sound! good job, waiting to see more.
I love the wheel and tire combo on this truck can you tell me what it is the tire size and the rim size thanks man really appreciate it
Just bought some AVR swag to help support you bro. Love the channel, awesome builds and way to remain humble and appreciate your fans. Keep up the great work and inspiring us to go all in on our own builds.
I am looking to swap an MK4 ALH into my 91 G60 Corrado. Pulled the engine, ECU and full harness out of my lifted Jetta. Now I will rebuild it and swap to the Corrado. Thanks for all the TDI content 👍🏻
Thanks man I appreciate that!!! That will be a fun project!!
@@austinniemela
Your videos and the hard work you have done swapping yours will help me out tremendously.
I might even do a custom lift on the Corrado for a more rally inspired stance!
Thanks for the reply Austin! Keep on grinding bud-
@@vdubcustoms6957 thanks man!!
Looks like the previous owner had a lube phobia, she’s dry!
Didn’t you say in the 1st episode of this build, that u weren’t going to put as much time, $$$ & effort in this vehicle as you did with the red Toyota? You’d have to agree, that statement is something you won’t be making again, especially if you decide to take on another similar project?
I have to say, you make this type of work look a lot easier than what it is. I guess, having the knowledge & confidence to take this stuff on makes it look easy. 👍🏻🇦🇺
I had that harbor freight vice. It literally broke in half on me! Good luck on the build!
Mine has been great!! Thanks!
Hello I like your videos, and I want to ask you something I m about to do the swap on my 1993 Toyota pickup 3.0l with automatic transmission and
I have 2 options
1.-complete donor 1996 4 runner 3.4l 2wd WITH the ECM or UCMI mean non 4x4 , or
2.- complete donor chasis with engine 3.4l and 4x4 manual transmission no ECM or UCM
On the option 1 do I need a ECM or UCM for 3.4l engine and needs to be automatic transmission 4x4
On option 2 if I go manual transmission a ECM or UCM 3.4l 4x4 manual transmission
Or any 3.4l UCM or ECM will works for any option? Thanks
If I saw that chassis for sale I'd guess by the look of it I'd be thinking you'd tried to cover up a few sins.
Hay man I would rather be hearing that VSV tick than my misses telling me to slowdown or advising me about another red light !!!!
Nice videos 👌
You should take off whole knuckle to se if roller bearings went bad
Great build Bro.
Love the patina!!!!
Hey Austin, "While your in there you might as well...." replace the roller bushings, bearings, the cv joints, etc, etc!
No haha well let’s hope not
Sounds Awesome ☮️
Excellent content once again. 👍
Nice
Good job Austin, Greets from Argentina!
Toyota 4x4 k.swap next build....
You need a fan shroud cowling for better cooling
Got a question I have a 2nd gen 3.slow
I have a 2003 Mustang Gt my buddy just wrecked with a 4.6 5 speed would you do the V8 Swap or go with the 3.4 swap mine is a auto ?
3.4 for sure
While she's apart, remove the body lift. Suspension lift or nothing else imo. 4" will keep your steering geometry straight and let you do 33" tires. Should you need winter rated tires, Yokohama makes a Geolandar metric equivalent. I'm also wondering about the possible missing ring as mentioned previous.
What’s your problem with body lifts? I’ve had one in my full-size ford for 7 years and never had any issue. I actually like the space between the body and frame, it makes working on things a lot easier
Your sound is the cv axle touches a brass bushing in the back needs grease beetween but yes like u showed there lose if u push the cv back with him off jam grease I'm there I bet it's quiet again
Yes it’s all dry! I’m going to do bushings and repack the wheel bearings!
Good job bro 😎
Nice, did you ever get a stock air box for the 3.4 ?
Yes I did!
Are you gonna do a SAS on this truck and use this one as your wheeler and keep the other truck looking nice?
No sas on this one!
Good job
Nice nice nice
that play is pretty normal in both the axle and the locking hub.
Really?! I thought it was pretty floppy!
noticed the hood did not make contact with the plenum, body lift or any modifications?
He has a 1.5” body lift I believe
Yes 1.5” body lift to keep some clearance
Crank the torsion bars down
Is it a diesel engine? Or gasoline?
@why did you put holes in the lid and not just pop the cap off the POR can?
Screw the screws back in to seal it up. If you get por15 in the lid and put it on, it will never come back off
Right on.
Hub is a bit dry on grease that won’t help
👍
Have dome it to tons of customers trucks and noise gone for another 10 years haha
Done what?
Do you want to Tdi swap my 1990 4runner?
Where did you order the bushings from? I need some for my pickup
Toyotapartsdeal.com is the cheapest place I found!
Do you still need bushings?
@@austinniemela yeah, I mean when I had it all apart to replace cv axle and wheel hub bearings I didn't find any bushings so I just put it back together but if the place you found them has the ones for my truck I'll definitely be ordering some
@@chillingwithcy7687 I have the ones I bought, turns out mine are in good shape! I’d sell them if you need a set! I have the inner seals as well
@@austinniemela so they are supposed to be kinda loose in there ? Because I could move mine slightly when I got my new axle in there
Hey, my 5vz is stock and idles at around 1250 rpms at temp
1250 idle is not normal at all for these engines. Look into getting your throttle body repaired by maxbore.com. The butterfly valve can wear down and causes a high idle. The guy will bore out your throttle body and replace the butterfly valve to fit. Of course make sure it's not your throttle cable adjustment or a long list of other possible issues.
Appreciate it. Will look into this
Why did you drill holes in the pipe and weld them back in ????? It seriously did nothing
It connected the inner and outer tubes together to increase the strength and rigidity.
I have a set of cleaned up IFS manual locking hubs I can send to you.
Dude I need them! Are they nice and tight? Email me anjone77@icloud.com
Done.
What’s wrong with your brother Cameron? Hasn’t posted anything in months or said anything
If you end up ordering new hubs discountbodyparts.com is where I found a good deal on some for my 86 Toyota Pickup i used to have.
You will fixit
Cringe at painting over the rust.
