Airlines are offering discounts for passengers willing to hold the door shut during flights 😂
Lmao 😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Bring ur welders for an exclusive offer
😂😂last 1 on holds the door
Spirit will let you fly free if you hold the engine cowlings in place.
WTH is going on with United plane maintenance!! Seriously, United, get your %*^$ together!!
It’s Boeing 😂
some disgruntled mechanic left the nuts loose
@@penitenttangent7346could have just said you don’t know anything about aviation.
@@penitenttangent7346definitely a maintenance issue not Boeing fault
@@vito774that’s been the issue the last incidents
This is an old B757 plane that 20 years old or older. Airlines are taking the term “Use it until the wheels fall off” literally.
The age of the airframe has little to nothing to do with an incident like this. The landing gear are inspected before and after every flight, and probably completely rebuilt several times over the life of the plane.
@@Jmjbs True. It's not like a lawnmower you can just use and abuse and never maintain and literally use it until it falls apart then buy a new one. That's not how planes are operated.
Sue Boeing
There ain’t very many “New” 757s chief !
@@imrytebeehyneu Why? It was a 29 year old plane. Do you think United got that particular tire from Boeing? I'm pretty sure Boeing never claimed their tires last 30 years. They make planes that last 30 years apparently longer if you get lucky when you go cheap on tires. I think the plane is completely out of warranty long ago and United has made a boatload of money from this plane. They are very happy with the plane they got 29 years ago. Maybe it is time to buy another plane and see if it lasts 30 years until a tire shreds. Or you could just "Sue Boeing"..
United having sh***y maintence:
LITERALLY EVERYBODY: bOEInG's FAULt!!!!
This is an airline maintenance problem NOT Boeing!!
100%
Sounds like something a Boeing exec would say
SUE BOING
@@judgemental9253 Maybe he would say just this. If he were a good exec. "The airship was 29 years old. And a tire shredded. And you want to put the blame on the manufacturer? Of that particular tire? I'm sure it went thru 10 sets of tires doing the number of cycles it has gone thru. Blame Boeing. That a 29 year old plane is still making money hand over fist. Yup. Seems boeing built a workhorse and it may be getting old and abused. Vulture capitalism has no place in the aviation industry. Toys are Us & Sears were ok I guess but too many lives in the balance in aviation. FAA needs to step up."
@@judgemental9253nah I’m a ramp agent. I agree. Airlines are responsible for their maintenance of planes. Just like you are with your car
Boing planes are "mostly safe" they are definitely safer than a whistle blower!
Boing! Boing! Boing! 😂
Boing boing boing boing...
this had nothing to do with it being built by Boeing, you just sound dumb with that comment
its united's fault
@@dinar1ess776 United is just an airline. Could be greyhound if you wanna go that way.
pilot: wheels up. aww sh i dropped one
Get it back..😂
😂
😂😂
You picked a fine time to leave me loose wheel 🎶
*Chef's kiss*
hilarious
😂 This comment needs more love! 🤣
July 2 nd a JetBlue a320 parts left during takeoff and y’all didn’t talk about that smh
And even if they did, they wouldn't mention the manufacturer.
It's called observer expectancy effect where due to some past bad issues everyone is keeping an eye on Boeing now and all issues are exacerbated as well. Also note to point out that based on some statistics, however they vary from source to source,Boeing has some 0.7x more incidents than Airbus. Incidents counts even as a delay because there's a small fuel leak or anything else that is minor most of the times. This type of effect can be seen in other type of circumstances non aviation related as well.
@@Daniel-xg3ulor they would say “a Boeing a320”😂
@@diow142 You give me a flashback of "Boeing Airbus A319" 😂
I'm glad I DO NOT fly that trash airline.
At this point its just United problem. That plane is 20+ year old and HAS to be maintained properly.
Funny how these articles and videos are always blown up to be huge when it happens with a Boeing aircraft, yet nothing when it happens to any other manufacturer. Take the Delta A320 in Palm Beach with an engine fire 3 days ago. Shows how fear is prioritized over actual news.
The media is also paid to get Boeing in the spotlight on anything not their fault and yet does not bat an eyelid with Airbus

Old does not mean bad. This plane would be in perfect operating order if it had been maintained properly.
man all of the sudden so many maintaince problems! hopefully the airlines figure it out!
Na, its just coming to light. There are about 150K commercial flights every DAY and about 3 of those EVERY DAY have an emergency that forces them to land, 2 of those are serious like this, and that has only risen about 5% in the last 10 years. the 10 years before that it was only 3% increase. BUT 20 years ago, HALF the amount of flights took place every day. SO yea this is just news wanting attention. Nothing to worry about. Busses and Trains have 50x more death accidents than commercial air flight, Do you take care of your car? well accidents from mechanical failure is 5,000 times MORE often than air travel.
DEI hirings.
well i ain't flying united anymore...
Airline's fault for shoddy maintenance.
employees fault for not tightening properly
@@SgtJoeSmith The airline is ultimately responsible.
@rnews5750 yeah and it will give lower pay and less benefits to others as insurance to offset losses
@@SgtJoeSmith Agreed.
Airlines must be held accountable for these types of events along with everyone involved in the supply chain
what about jimmy who is the forklift driver?
United: When there's a wheel, there's a way! Sorry, it just hasn't been a good year for tire puns, I'll spare you the rest. The rest of the tire puns are rather flat.
Because so much is riding on your puns... 🤦🏻♂️
Lol. Reading this felt like get run over, then reversed, then run over again.
Such an inflated joke...😂
The Plane was old, but not Tired.
The airline industry needs to be looked at because these planes are getting mighty old and a lot of them are falling apart....
They’re being cheap, they can easily get new airplanes
This is NO big deal planes are designed for this
The drama for such a non event is staggering….
agreed and how about the landing...."Brace Brace Brace"....what garbage
I’m not flying.
This is United fault, because when the captain or first officer comes to check the plane they are required to check everything including tires and engines and the surrounding body of the aircraft occasionally there is a nail missed due to the tire in a different position.
A nail?
It’s United again? Not surprised. Their flights are ratchet
This is a maintenance issue not a Boeing issue. Boeing has lots of problems, but they aren't responsible for this.
181 passengers? Tell me that doesn’t mean that another plane-incident will not be a part of Final Destination 7. I’ll wait
All the tires are landing gear tires.
instead of takeoff gear tires?
"I get rolling down the runway, and a nose wheel tire falls off, it falls OFF, it falls the FU€K OFF..." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's likely many commenters will mention "Boeing" issues here, however, this Boeing was manufactured long ago when Boeing was a great company and built this great airliner.
Let’s remind the public that the fleet of 777s and 757s are up there in age. Delta / United are the only US operators still utilising the 757, and bless both of them for it because that plane is such a cool plane. Super high thrust to weight ratio which allows it to get into more technical (shorter runways) airports.
It’s a maintenance item that probably was overlooked. Maybe in the name of DEI. Maybe just because burn out. More and more airplanes are in the sky now than have ever been in the history of aviation. With more time on being put on these older airframes we’re just gonna see an increase in these oops moments. That being said it’s no excuse for what clearly is an excellence deficit.
Can you be more dramatic?
Must have been serviced in SFO recently !
Chine saying - "if you stand in front of car, you feel tired; if you stand behind car you feel exhausted'.......
Technically, it's United Airlines, not United Wheels. Give them a break, geez! Not the kind of break the wheel gave those car windows, though.
This happens AFTER “extensive supervision” of United maintenance by the FAA??
Im with Delta and JetBlue.
ITS BECAUSE AIRLINES ARENT PAYING ENOUGH! They need to pay more to get more quality mechanics. I work for an airline right now and they will hire anyone that breathes. It used to be a minimum 5 years experience with a bachelors degrees to get into delta as a mechanic. Now as long as you got your A&P license and you have a pulse, you’re hired right on the spot!!!!
What other kind of tire would an airplane have?
what happens next a united flight loses all its gear
Flying USED TO BE SAFER than driving.
Now, not so much.
Was anyone hurt?
It’s still much much safer than driving
Is it a tire or a wheel? They are not the same thing. I can understand a wheel falling off but a tire? Please clarify.
It was the wheel, unless the tire burst.
nothing harrowing they can land with few tires..poor pilot doing pre flights the pilots should have caught this
Either you lose the tire, emergency door, or your life! 😂😂😂
Yikes. Avoiding UA going forward.
At this point your safer on spirit airlines than united
And what about the JetBlue A320 that lost components on departure from JFK? Did ABC not hear about it or did they hear “Airbus” and turn a blind eye?
This news anchor is so stiff he is unwatchable and then add those annoying endless hand gestures into the mix = bad TV.
this is getting a little ridiculous. i mean imagine...
"BREAKING NEWS! Honda Civic loses tire while driving down the 405. No occupants hurt."
fr
Cut corners, cut costs, increase profits. It is a business...duh???
Story aside, why does the anchor always hold his right area like that? Dramatic news pose?
Yo. wtf is going on with all these planes messing up. Just the other day I was on one and the window cover fell out inside mid turbulence like what even…
What’s happening is a massive uptake in mainstream reporting of minor incidents. None of these incidents would have made even national news this time last year.
United you are shaming the name
Unbelievable
This is an airline mantanice problem not a Boeing problem. The 757s where built decades before all these quality issues when Boeing was great. Commenters on here REALLY need to Research more and get a fundamental understanding how the aviation industry works
Harrowing? "Extremely distressing; agonizing." Is that what this was?
Gut-wrenching
I wish we had better railways in this country...because I am definitely not getting on any planes any time soon
Shut up..
Yup, same here.
Same. And it’s scary how conservatives want more deregulation? Nope, we need regulation big time.
@@nadiab7764that might be the dumbest comment yet on this story, congratulations.
FAA still couldn''t get their maintance under conntrol.
Lul wut😂 the faa doesn’t do maintenance
Another idiot that makes comments to sound smart when they have zero knowledge on what they’re talking about…smh
I have relatives in the Airforce, and they refuse to fly on United.
The make and model has nothing to do with how the airlines maintain their fleet.
Nothing harrowing about it
Right, every day, somewhere in the world, some flight emergency happens, and always has. I fly all the time and oh wow, this is sure going to make me stop!!
Just in today aa flight 590 from tampa to phoenix tires wheels exploded on take off roll and catches fire after coming to a complete stop exiting off on the taxiway. seems like a usual occurrence lately
NO big deal, you only need it for the last 30 sec of the flight.
Ayyooo, this Friday is my 1st flight on United from SFO to Burbank.... Bet not be NOOO problems United😂
New wheel goes on. Ops check ok. Back in service.
A maintenance problem? Hopefully the employees in charge don't have ties with terrorists.
A 29 year old plane ? ´´ I had no idea planes of that age are still flying it says a lot about what a great plane it is
No.....older planes are MUCH more reliable than the Junk they make today!.....it's the AIRLINES fault for not maintaining something stupid like a tire.
10 tires on that plane, 1 missing, not necessary to panic the sheep in the back, Captain.🤦♂️
This is why im not flying ANTYWHERE!!! I will drive thank you!!
Good luck with the drunk driver on the other lane
@@JavierGodoyand at least I'll be closer to the ground.
I hope everyone is ok tho
Ah it's just one tire we have plenty more tires, send it!
Harrowing? Not really.
You don't need tires to fly! 🤣🤣
Why is a 29 year old plane still in service???
Because it works and they don’t really have a suitable replacement.
Fun fact: there’s still some 737-200s getting up to 50 years with operators in northern Canada.
MOST planes going over your head Right now are old!!!! And they are VERY reliable....planes are Insanely expensive, it's not a honda civic......you're talking $30 million for One engine on a Smaller jet, easily.
Because 29 years isn’t too old for a plane
United maintenance failure 😂😂
United: passengers please brace all of our planes are falling apart. Let not get started on the engines please.
How the hell can a tire fall off airplane this could be sabotage
DON’T EVER FLY UNITED!!! 🤬
Still gonna fly Doomsday Dave. You stick with your private jet
Aw we did the damn tire wrong.. Lets go to Hooters for lunch before the FAA abd NTSB get here!
what has happened to america?
Don't live too close to the airport. You never know what's going to hit you from above.
Losing a tire isn’t a big deal. Do they mean a wheel?
With as old as the 757 is, this is definitely a United maintenance issue not a Boeing one for once.
How? They have so many nuts and bolts, or studs, or whatever holding them on. And they are supposed to be checked way more than any other wheel in the world. Incompetence, plain and simple.
Tire or wheel?
"maintenance issue"......why is Airbus not having maintenace issue like doors or tires falling off ? is boeing being sabotaged ?
Why divert the plane back to LAX? Ya gotta land somewhere, why not just continue on to Denver? Now everyone is delayed and has to make other arrangements.
Because a Tire fellow off
honestly it might not even be boeing, it's probably united airlines LMAOO
thanks captain obvious, it has nothing to do with Boeing
shitty employees not worth a living wage
Wow, is this 3rd or 4th time wheel has come off at take off. NTSB, FAA, do ya see the pattern yet. Just asking... for a friend
Another day, another plane tire falls off. Pretty much a daily occurrence.
I felt United yesterday from sfo-lhr
Bet you a United employee from LAX is wanting attention.
Holy 💩 !!!! This is absolutely ridiculous!!!
That’s the airline maintenance fault.
Wait wait wait chat lemme guess ….. Boeing????
yall said it was maintenance when there was a A320 incident while here it’s all the manufacturer
Well United’s going down a rabbit hole
Yeah, making it way, way to dramatic! Cvr indicates no biggie. The brace was only because they couldn't verify which tire, and the gear is redundant anyway.
It’s always United with a tire 😅
United keeps losing a tire lol
