His imposing physicality, his quick acceleration, his quick trapping technique,, his flair filled touches, his elegance on the ball, his brutish power, his ability to score goals plus chase lost causes and win them in the manner he did too...
It makes me him quite simply the best African international forward of all time bar nobody.
It's a crime his prime years didn't last longer he was truly a destructive monster on the pitch who frightened defences, only Ronaldo showcased George Weah's insane attributes better in my lifetime. He was as close as anyone to R9 in being completely unplayable at his best, he was always a pleasure to watch and it's a pleasure watching this highlight reel. Thank you again barbosa.

We used to call him mister George. He was incredible. I remember all his goals. His goals for Paris and for Milan especially.

When he won the ballon d’or, Romario couldn’t win because he was playing in Brazil, Van Basten didn’t play for two years. His main rival was Jürgen Klinsmann.

George was a force to reckon with, the man was a COMPLETE seriously talented player, there is nothing he couldn’t do, he was good on one on one situations, good in the air, had mad skills i mean i could never mention it all, he was a true King of the game.
Underrated. The biggest shame was that i was discovered too late, he should have sign a big team before. A beast, like Henry said: Romario, Ronaldo and this guy changed the style of the number 9, they were the fathers of modern strikers.
AC Milan was a massive massive club back then. He was with a very big team.

I don’t think he was underrated. When he was planning for clubs like AS Monaco and PSG; those were outstanding clubs in Europe. Matter of facts, it was his performance at PSG that led to him wining the FIFA Player of the Year; European Player of the Year and African players of the year. When he got to Italy, the Italian was one of the best league in the world at the time. You can’t be underrated and winning footballer top awards.
He came to Chelsea and Manchester City late before settling in Marseille. The only thing he never played for a top national team so he never participated in the World Cup.

Well... it's more like Ronaldo the Brazilian Weah. Because when Weah was already shattering to pieces european defences Ronaldo was at the beginning of his journey.
I watched him perform some magic in 1988 at Owerri stadium when he was playing for Tonerre Kalala of Cameroun. Dude is a super and technically gifted striker. He dominated French League so much the named the Paris club Paris St George, before his big money move to AC Milan, where he again dominated Serie A.
