well... fight them as in the first game XD. No really, guns are your best friends on this mission. you can also do the cool shit you did in the first game like jumping on shadow spike. Royal guarding shadow is also possible, but a bit hard (the buzz saw can ramp up a lot of bars if you are great)
1 is actually my favorite next to 5 so it was fun to learn the spike trick (something I doubt most people ever used) and hear the remixes of what I consider the best music in the series. I didn’t consider using the guns very much since they feel much weaker than the great feel they had in 1, though if someone told me they were actually better I’d probably believe them haha. My biggest problem with these fights is my poor ability to read their windups, not joking when I say I was terrified to approach any of them in combat, which is how I ended up using the guns. So I DID end up approaching the answer you guys are helpfully sharing now :)
Looking at this and the other video + testing, and came to the conclusion that the best way to build lots of style points is using moves with multi-hits properties (prob-shreder, Cavalier regular attacks, twosome, millon stabs, etc)
Please do more DMC 5 combo vids. You're a very graceful player, and I've watched you for combos on many games this and the tales series being a few. You seem to string together the different attacks in combos more smoothly than others who just seemed to spam jump cancels or whatever weaknesses work in whatever game.
Although I swapped, or re-mapped, R2 R1 and X I adopted that setup and is really good. 100% recommended. Takes some time, but once used to it is easier to do almost everything.
If you are interested in how I swapped R2 R1 and X, I have lock on for R2, jump for R1 and Trickster for X. I think that R1 makes JC'ing really easier, and Trickster being close to style button serves the same purpose that R2 does.
BTW, I think you misunderstood me. I play with 2 swords, being Dante+Rebellion or Dante+Sparda, since both Sparda and Rebellion are basically identical, except for Sparda special animated attacks, like Prop, Shedder, Stinger, High Time, Combo B end, and I think that Round Trip also deals more damage. Now, if you want to, you can equip the three swords at the same time, since you can have easier access to Aerial Rave, but if you have a hard time switching weapons like that I do not recommend it.
There are 3 pillars around the boss area that drop health when they are broken. You can see the one in the background behind dante break during judgement and that gives me healing.
Yousef Aln oh ok, yeah the other difficulties are much tougher, one piece of advice I’ve gotten for this mission is to ignore everything except for the familiars, as killing the other enemies ducks your ranking because it’s based on averages rather then totals. I’m not even gonna try to touch HAH mode, I barely got through with the super characters on those levels, plus V is absurdly weak on that mode with the familiars becoming paper...
Yousef Aln I have all his missions S-ranked and out of the way besides BP and HAH, and those were a nightmare in of themselves, you really gotta strategize with V, it’s all about pumping damage, but I have the auto resets for the summons, if they could make that a manual option without dodging then V would be near better as a character.
There are three towers around the area if you break the red tentacle clusters throughout the stage. They are hard to break in the fight but when they do they drop green orbs. My judgement attack broke one in the background at that moment.
