My complex tried the same nonsense on me. When after my incessant requests for a mold inspection, I was presented with a similar letter, accusing me of interfering in inspections. The reality: I questioned the shady looking tester on his credentials and licensing, and he grabbed his equipment and ran out like the Roadrunner cartoon!! Asking questions is the new "Harassment and Threatening" or "I feel unsafe from my PTSD and abuse from people interrogating and triggering me in my safe space.". 😂😂

mold remediation takes weeks to months... they have to dry out the structure, then sand down all the wood to remove the mold or replace the wood all together if its too bad. NOTHING takes place in a day or even a week. i used to work for service master and they arent even contractors, they are there to clean up water damage, not mold remediation. it isnt service masters fault, if mold is found, they are in fact required to tape it off and LEAVE and contract the job to actual mold remediation specialists. she needs to get a lawyer, the county needs to protect her from this landlord and she needs to sue the everloving hell out of them.

She replaced the roof and told us she might have to raise the rent I told her I’m not paying anymore rent this building isn’t worth it besides because she neglected the roof for so long she can’t raise the rent for something she neglected ‼️

i’ve been dealing with a mold/mildew issue in my apartment since i moved in 3 years ago. i’ve been trying to get it dealt with and get answers and a solution but it’s been hard to get them out here because it’s a busy time of year for maintenance. today i emailed a summary of events and all the pics i had of problem areas with thorough descriptions. i have done my best to be patient and understanding but i’m allergic to mold and my allergy medicine hasn’t even been working despite me taking twice the dose. i got so sick the last time they cleaned a bunch of mold. i’m too scared to be assertive over the issue because i don’t want to get evicted :(

Racism is a by-product of Classism. They think she is too poor to afford to fight back. Hence, the retaliation and lack of maintenance to begin with.

Landlords have their "methods" to place blame. I swear they keep little books to come up with retaliation. I just got one that I had said I have spiders etc. and blah, blah. Well..I have had trouble doing heavy work for a year and I am saving money to get help.which is very expensive and I have a choice...eat or pay for heavy lifting help. Even though one of the problems is clutter. I cannot lift but I can pick away at the boxes. BUT...the dumpsters at my complex are NOT up to code for ADA (disability) standards. he expects the government programs to do all trash tasks IF we are eligible for assistance. Well...I am but have to wait until...the usual channels approve. The manager has been threatening me in some very sneaky ways ! Pretty stupid to threaten me as when I tell the social worker the problem...this manager is going to be in trouble. I could take a small amount out daily of I could use the dumpster....but because the dumpsters are old, on uneven ground and unwieldy....I cannot safely do this using a walker and a cane. Maybe I will wind up in court but so be it. When landlords refuse to follow the laws, tenants should not suffer.

Sorry but this video is only one side of the story. This is my apolitical take on it …
A simple websearch shows Velma Jeter Manor is privately managed government-subsidized housing (what used to be called “Section 8”). As such, it’s the government’s job to perform periodic inspections. Being the taxpayer basically pays to house these tenants, the least tenants can do is understand the gift that feeds them. This video was worth a thousand words in that, if anything, it totally belied the tenant’s credibility. She did violate the lease. Twice. She refused access for professional repairs to be made, and was belligerent to boot. Both violations are boxes on boilerplate lease contracts. She never refuted either, and only said she’d never committed a violation (or at least, got caught, prior to that), as if she was beyond reproach. Was there mold? Yes, there was mold. But when did it become known and did she already have a history of bad tenancy? The landlord tried to fix it, but she obstructed their efforts. Is she trying to game the system? Possibly. Statistically, there are far more crappy tenants than crappy landlords. And government-subsidized tenants who’ve got little skin in the game are the worst offenders. Liberal tenant laws have seen to that.
Too, I have to wonder how ‘income-qualified’ she really is if she could afford and prioritized to give her little son a big fat gold bracelet (that’s a security deposit right there), herself big gold earrings, and her also-gold smiling grill. If she really gave a damn about her kids and the mold was so bad, why didn’t she move?
