Also in 2001 before mandatory safety helmets there were a few incidents where crew members were collected and hurt by loose equipment and other things (no one was killed thankfully in these few incidents)
Yes I remember John Faulkner at Clipsal in 2001. Brought down the boom and hot one of Larkhams guys.

Nascar pitting is undeniably the most challenging pitting in motorsports. Very limited number of guys over the wall (5 vs F1's 20 ), 5 lugs per wheel. Fuel cans instead of hoses. Certainly not the fastest but definitely the most difficult to get it all right in.

I don't know anything about this sport, but could someone who does answer my question? Why were they dropping the cars before the wheel was on? I know it's a mistake but it happened multiple times so that must be a thing. Whats that about? Just bad timing?
It's just bad timing, most the time its done perfectly
It's just that it's incredibly stressful fast and lots of people doing different things at once, its easy for things to go wrong
But usually its it's done in seconds

Yes. The Aston Martin Vulcan uses a similar system. I don't know the details of the Supercars system but in the Aston, there are four pneumatic rods that get pushed down, which are activated by plugging in an air hose in the back.

kinda sorta. There used to be a much closer to Nascar in Aus, both AUSCAR and the real Nascar boys showing up to Calder park. V8 supercar is like indycar and Nascar had a down under buttbaby lmao.
