Absolutely loved his VTs - his fantastic personality really showed through on them :D and of course his performances themselves were stunning.

I'm so glad he sang Nessun Dorma a second time. The scale of his growth and improvement in his second performance is very impressive! A tribute to his work ethic. Joe is truly an artist dedicate to his craft and working his ass off to achieve his goals.

I am extremely impressed at what this young man can do and what he did in about 2 months. As Rolando said, just imagine what he will sound like with 2 years of solid voice and theatre training. I just hope he doesn't let it go to his head. Many a life has been destroyed by the acquisition of sudden fame and the winning of two difficult contests back to back is heady stuff indeed.
I could (and sometimes do) watch Joe all day, I love his x factor and pop star to opera star equally.I just love him. XXX

AND thanks to the people who thought up this show, for showing big audiences just how much FUN it is to sing classical. :D How the first rehearsal is always a slaughterhouse 5, and you just want to tear up your sheetmusic, but when it all starts to come togerher and then the kick of finally getting it right....Aah! Nothing beats that. :)

Bravo mr. Villazon. Many an opera purist may criticize you for doing this, but it is the only way of winning a "lost generation" back to opera, by shoving their nose right into it and by showing them it CAN in fact be done with really just a little effort. And you worked wonders with young Joe here. :)

Thanks for the video, love it. Great decision to take part in PSOP, the professional training he received has served Joe' well in the following years. His vocal range, tone & power are incredible when seen/heard performing live. Absolutely loving watching your vids from the current "Evolution" tour.

I am late in the game here.....years late...but in the group sing, was that, oddly, Jared Harris singing alone with Joe and the other contestant? It surely looked like him and the age of that singer appeared to be Jared's age. Yes, Joe has a beautiful voice, but it is the competition that truly interests me.

His voice still the same as 4e was in Xfactor though a bit rounded one. Not the normal type of voice for an opera singer. That was really tough.

I personally prefer Joe to Rolando. Rolando's voice is heavier and overproduced and his facial expressions are off putting whereas Joe is lighter, more natural and not forced.

Joe McElderry has an impressive and beautiful voice, it is a privilege to hear him, but please, he shouldn't sing in Spanish, I don't know how Rolando Villazón allowed it.
He has a countertenor voice. He should stop singing tenor arias.
