What's the story with the different lineups in this and the other KEXP live performance? This has a few more younger guys and a different singer and sounds fantastic. The other one is rather sedate. Was the other guy the original vocalist?
Yes the older KEXP has the original singer/keyboard player and guitarist. Check out the 2 albums Boom and Here are the Sonics, its the wildest craziest rock n roll!

I think I just creamed my pants, and I'm sitting here in the wilderness on a laplop.
I totally get that they're going after a certain configuration, but it would have sounded even better with a mic'd guitar amp / or an even louder one. Some of the tones that were supposed to be crunchy were distorted. And, more importantly, when he went in for the solo, there wasn't any headroom left, and it just distrorted more, making it disappear more..
ikr , even the screams arent that much sick as before....but i still love Sonics , and i very love this song
