Time for NEW Series!! Me and Jack have 1 million coins to build our teams with but WE get to decide where we spend our coins. In future I don't think we'll be doing upgrades as we go along but its only the first episode so we're still working it out.

Just an opinion but i feel like being able to upgrade cards defeats the whole saving budget on cartain positions as you could technically just build a full gold squad and upgrade them all at the end
Idea how about you can only upgrade like 3 players so you have to think wisely about which players to upgrade

100% agree. I look forward for another epi of this series without upgrades or at least really limited ones! Otherwise why have a budget at all lol, griezmann is basically double James' total budget haha
I kinda like the idea, similar to the price is right where you’ve gotta guess the price of the card if you want to use them, making it so it’s the first page only as well makes it harder
I like the idea of it, but I think upgrades should be off limits. Another thing I think would be cool is you can pick a promo specific card (as long as they have more than 10 card types) but you risk not setting a minimum so you could get something really good that is closer to your budget but you could also get something really bad and lose your budget. Just an idea but I think it's make it very interesting.
I think this is a really cool concept but the upgrades defeat the purpose but i think that maybe you can have 1 upgrade during the video or just not have any upgrades at all

Upgrades should be allowed, but it should come out of the budget.
@@vgnrnr no they shouldnt be allowed cause u have to choose from the first page of the auction house so stick to that if they're upgrade isn't on the page how is it allowed
What about formations?
IDEA 1: Both players spin until the other person says stop - this is your formation ... HOWEVER .. you can chose to spend 20 or 30K to spin again, you can keep spinning until you are happy with the formation but you've eaten into your budget.
IDEA 2: Before you begin, you can either spin for formation or choose (up front) to just spend like 50K-100K of your budget to allow you to choose one.
I feel like we could randomise the budgets per position, otherwise everyone will just always use a lot money for more ”important” positions
Maybe you decide the budget, then a wheel decides a position where u use it
Maybe only 2-3 upgrades per episode because u can just absolutely abuse the system by only getting gold cards like Haaland and upgrading them to 97
Love the new concept, mate! I'd say no to upgrades, it does kind of defeat the object and would be easy to cheat the system. Enjoyed the vid! :)
I like this builder idea. My only input to make it slightly more interesting is adding a more random element in. So for example James will say “I’ll pick a striker for 250k” but Jack gets to say “you can have the 7th player” and he has to pick whoever it lands on. Can still upgrade but it will make it more interesting in terms of teams/discards
Improvement ideas:
Guess formation at the start - either the other person gets additional budget OR they can choose your formation
maximum number of upgrades - not all, otherwise you'll always pick 25k gold keepers for the best ones
a block of an upgrade on a guessed position - write on a whiteboard at the start, if they upgrade that position, it's a bronze
locked players - write few players they can't pick, or they're bronzed up.
Must end up on full chem or it's a guaranteed discard for each chem point away.
No upgrades. All one has to do is put 65k in each position and max the squad out.

Hey James, absolutely love the new series, something different and not as fast paced as others. Plus the transfer market adds a bit of suspense. I think upgrading, if possible, should come at a price like x amount to upgrade to the next higher rating and then even more to the next higher card etc. so it still has the budget aspect. I also wouldn’t mind people having a bronze if nothing comes up on the transfer market. I hope you will continue the series, thanks for the videos! ❤

Just a opinion ... But could have like 3 - 5 secret off limit players for potential bronzes pick so like for GK u could have Allison off trapped just to stop easy price gap like that ... Just a thought

How about a sneaky twofer? A maximum of two upgrades(or loans) in your team! Just to keep true to the name of the series!

Great idea!! Maybe have a rule where you can only upgrade a certain amount of players though, you could also have a ‘3 guesses’ rule… where each of you get 3 guesses, let’s say your abouts to pick your ST… your opponent says ‘guess’ .. if he can correctly guess a player that appears on the page when u hit search then u have to use a bronze for that position?
Just something a bit different & keeps it interesting.

Potentially a very good season here. My suggestion is not upgrading them so buying normal cards but rather than discard gold cards, if they are in your club you have to discard the upgraded version.
Also how about a spinning wheel. You break down 1 million coins into 11 wedges. Some big money some stinkers, so say Jack says left back, you then spin the wheel and see what the value of his left back would be

Love the idea but you should allow like only 3 upgrades and probably have a wheel spin to determine the budget. Also have a price for upgrading like you got griezmann for 250K, upgrading him should be another 250K which makes it trickier.
I think one upgrade and one poistion you both pick beforehand where you set an amount for the position for the other player without them knowing and announce it when they hit the position

Wheel spin for budget? Both having different budgets be funny. How about using budget for sbcs? Get hero and icon picks etc involved in video.
I actually like the upgrades. Sure it doesn’t make a lot of sense when it comes to the budget, however, it makes the discard part a lot more fun and tense. Who’s gonna be bothered about discarding an 80 rated Mctominay?
This definitely has a potential to be a great series but as most people seem to agree, upgrades kind of makes the format redundant as only200k of the budget for the whole squad and end up with like a 2 million coin team. I think though there should be like lifelines which would spice things up like, you can have 1 upgrade per episode but the price of the upgrade has to be taken out of the budget which would create an interesting decision of if the upgrade is worth that percentage of your budget. Also I think another good one is once an ep you would be allowed to change one other filter so for example you could have a 200k special prem player and then a third could be once per episode if the other player's transfer page has a player you really want you can steal them for double the value of the pick and then the other person needs to start their turn again.

Really enjoy the concept but would love to see things like not being able to upgrade players/only X amount of special cards/maybe requirement of one silver per person so we can see some underrated legends
I echo what most have said about the upgrades. To easy to do what Jack did with the keeper of just going for high golds and getting the upgrade. I imagine at this point any gold over 20K has an upgrade that can be used, I actually just went and checked FUTBIN and the only one I saw that would not have an upgrade is Verratti.
You should add a rule where for every 100k you have remaining you start the game with a goal. Also maybe have a one time use Page 2 instead of Page 1
The idea is good but for example you could take a gold modric and upgrade him to his 96 for however cheap his base card is. Upgrades should be used, but should have like a tax or fee on them. There could also be a specific budget for each position so you can’t just spend a lot on your best positions like the attack or midfield.
Or you could do it like if the opponent guesses your player
They could make you spend that amount of money for a player of their chosing
So they could make you bid like 90k for 2k player
Tbh a very good idea, BUT I suggest you scrap the upgrading idea and raise the bugget to somewhere between 1.5-2 million coins
I think once one person searches, the other guy then has to guess out of the 10 options and if he guesses who he picks then he gets a bronze, makes it a bit more exciting
No upgrades definitely, completely defeats the purpose of the challenge, but maybe you can choose one player as an sbc ? or maybe even one first owner/evo player from your club ? Great basis for a series, just needs some work.

i think you should spin a wheel on how much the budget should be otherwise everyone is just gonna have a good team without any risks

I think you should be doing the same/equivalent positions at the same time and putting a price down. Feels like you could low key cheat abit and get inside info from what the other player searches.

Upgrades need to happen otherwise there won't really be anything worth discarding but I think you should also select like 5 players each that if the other person selects they have to use a bronze so you think about who you use a little bit more
I would say either you limit the number of upgrades or no upgrades and you get like a reroll or like you can choose the league like twice in the whole series
How about you can choose to narrow it down to league or country, but you have to buy that player like 1.5x? Might make teams building interesting then!

I don’t think the upgrades work. The only exemption for me would be SBC / Objective cards, otherwise I think it’s best not to upgrade them. Makes the squads a little more interesting and tactical too.
Or, maybe limit the amount of upgrades people can use? That would have the same effect

I like the concept, but as all other comments are saying, the upgrade part should probably not be there at this stage of the game. I do like the idea of wildcards where maybe you can go to the next page once or something along those lines.
Need to limit the amount of chem breaks I think as means you have to think about who you are getting and also only upgrade 1 player if you pick a goalie or you can upgrade 2 players if they are out field, otherwise you’d just upgrade your goalie
I think 1 upgrade per position would be fine 1 defender/gk upgrade 1 midfield upgrade and 1 attacker upgrade so you have to be tactical

You can just do gold put price where only the best Golds appear and upgrade, obviously chemistry is tougher to get like that. But yeah. Or only like a 1 card higher upgrade

You should really do no upgrades. Only letting you upgrade to sbc/objectives cause you cant get them on the market. You should also have like one search where you can put on a nation or league filter or spmething like that
How about having one person announce the amount they are going to spend and the other person writes a position on a whiteboard first holding it up then they have to spend that amount on that position.
The only upgrades that should be allowed is if they have an sbc upgrade. Then it’s still luck as to whether you can upgrade
Instead of 10% up it to 50% , higher the price more of a risk since its budget
good idea could be better drawing gold or special from a hat would make you think even more about the budget even more

This idea is really, really cool….but yeah everyone else has already commented what I want to say. With 1M you can literally get every highest rated gold card on the market at each position, and then upgrade it, including Mbappe if you were feeling spicy.
So, I think for the sake of the series, you can’t upgrade. Or, you allow upgrades and severely decrease the starting amount

id say no upgrades at all. as many have said, defeats the purpose. But for maximum damage - even if you pick a gold card and that gets hit for discard, the maximum available card should always be on the line, whether you used it or not.
what is the point of budget squad building if you're gonna uprage to the highest / most expensive cards anyway?
It would be cool if you had a power up that cost something like $25-$50k that either makes the other person or even yourself take someone from the next page just in case you have a stinker or the other person has a meta player that you don’t want to play against 🤷♂️
I definitely like the premise but there should be no upgrades
or if doing upgrades should have a well smaller budget so you have to risk getting good golds on the page like 250k

80k for 86 to 91
You then buy a 100/80k player and discard em

Love the concept. Hate the idea of upgrades, taking out the total budget part. If you really need to add it in, then it should take out of your budget. Make the price range wider also this adds some randoms in and could possinle get some stinkers wich we all like to see.

I really don't like the upgrade system, it defeats the purpose of a "budget" squad builder. Loved the concept tho and can't wait to see another video of this with some updates
