- People keep asking "What Mic are you using?" as if simply using the same mic as me will give them great audio. It's SO much more than that, which is why I created an entire audio series. The links are below, but watch this short video first for inspiration.

I love how you just always cut to the chase. No filler, no wasted words or irrelevant dialogue. killer.
holy shit that intro/example was impressive
I'm still using your duct tape trick.
I'm never out of duct tape and it's such a great solution that I haven't even bothered Buying in to any other.
Thanks for a great video
I'm glad you include segments like this Mr. Markus as many do think that having just a good microphone is all one needs. Thanks for the additional tips for us all.
Brother, you're on a tear lately! Fantastic tutorials and discussion of equipment! Thank you!
Who else was waiting for the cow fly through? :)
Thats wild how much thought and effort goes into this
You are so good at what you do! Thanks for doing everything you do, I really admire the way you do it.
Love the Ursa soft circles. Thanks for the tip. Now all I need is to buy a lavalier mic. I was an audio engineer for many years so I totally understand going into the program and adjusting the levels. Another great video. Thanks always
Absolutely, I agree - well done.
Thank you so much for all the work you put into this.
Thank you.
As always THANK YOU
Showing The extreme conditions vs a controlled studio environment
Reveals a lot of the different processes it takes in what makes a clear and good track..
Even in a stufio or live indoor atmosphere.
You have drums coming through the singers mic, crowd noise, feedback, hisses, cycle hum from florescent lights on a the circuit or around certain musical equipment..
This clip gave me new insight as to preventing some of the noise getting into the mic so its not a nightmare to have to clean up..
Excellent ideas as always! Thanks
Thank you for sharing your invaluable knowledge and expertise! 💗
This is gold! I can think of a lot of youtubers who I wish would watch this video and heed it's message!
sometimes having good audio is more important than image quality🤘🏻😎
It usually is. That's the point of the opening of my audio series czcams.com/video/yQOHtUwa60g/video.html
@@MarkusPix I know! 😎✌🏼I already saw it a while ago and it's great, I learn a lot from your videos. thanks BRO god bless you
As Sony tried in the TV ad when Full HD televisions were being thing, that "Audio is other half of the experience".
Thanks again Markus! Love your content!
Another great video *Markus* thank you. You contribute so much to the CZcams community. Thank you.
So cool you have an entire audio series.
Ive seen your audio series and am still amazed by stuff like this. Ive been having trouble with my Neewer Lavaliers. They give ya plenty of cable and work just fine but one little snag on anything and I got my soldering iron out trying to fix em. Maybe ill try making and using an electricians loop when using them and keep a foot or so of slack on the line. Wish I had thought of this before
Ok, this video is a straight banger. This is absolutely incredible information to have, and is going to benefit me greatly. Thank you so much.
Great video as always! Congratz to 100.000 👍👍👍🥂🥂🥂🍾🍾🍾
Thank you so much sir for your packaged information.
excellent collection of equipment with explanation
Thanks! The thumbnail is a riot!
Great job. Thank you for sharing
You did an excellent job on this audio.
best information. as always! thanks!
Thank you because I’ve been wanting to record and do more than landscape photography 🔥
Very informative, definitely going to try this, for my next video! Thanks
Nothing about the video, but thanks Markus! You showed that it's possible to take great portraits with M4/3 cameras
Absolutely!
Brilliant video, this will really help me out… thanks so much
I can't even stand to watch some of my earlier videos for a wide number of reasons but my audio was gawd awful. I have stubbornly learned a bit more and the set up I really like is my waterproof lav mic paired with a Tentacle Track E recorder and a sync E and the 32 bit float audio has made my audio life so much easier. YMMV.....Thanks again for your tips.
Don't be so hard on yourself. The main thing is if the content is interesting or educational, then people will watch it anyway.
Another awesome video
Some great information.
Thank you for making such informative videos 👍👍👍👍👍👍
MARKUS!!! Please consider doing some sort of filmmaker/ director symposium we can all pay to attend. Would love to see you speak and get my copy of your book signed. Thanks again for all the videos Markus!
Good stuff as always 🙂
When every other video tells you to just go buy the newest DGI mic setup this is a refreshing bit of content.
Informative… thanks man.
Cool!!! Thank you for what you do! I was wondering how your audio is always so good. And I never see a microphone!

Thank you so much for this helpful information Markus! I'm going to apply these tips later this week. Just got a Tascam DR 10L for tutorial I'll be doing. Love the thumbnail!😆😂
I made a comment that day about this very topic! I notice the audio in all of your videos. Oh also...the camera lessons are pretty good too. 😁😁
Markus is the GOAT
super!
Hello from Vorarlberg Austria 🇦🇹
Your audio series inspired me to try and improve my audio quality. 😅 I may still suck at it but I'm trying my best 🤣👍
Kind regards Leopold 🤗
Thanks bud... 👍😁👣🎤
You certainly have great audio in your videos. I enjoy your teaching.
Thank ya, thank ya very much
Hahaha I love the cow flying by in your still shot hahahahaha you're so creative!
Even though I've seen all the audio videos in the past, I finally used the technique of hiding my lav under my t-shirt in my latest recordings - those won't be out for a couple months. I got those ursa circles (different brand) and liked them. But the variation I used was wrapping my really, really cheap lav (I spent like $1 7-8 years ago) in gaffers tape, then used more gaffers tape to attach it to my shirt. I can't do the chest due to hair, which I could fix, but choose not to. The ursa allowed just a little bit of rustle in there whereas the gaffer didn't so far in the videos I've edited. The only thing I forgot was taping the wire to secure things. Not for noise, just to help keep the lav in place. I plan on using the ursa when I travel as they are more compact and for any interviews I do. The occasional rustle can be cleaned up with a plug-in that was a lifesaver last year for a documentary I did. Always great stuff Markus!
Also, for a quick setup, a dead cat attachment on an external mic makes a big difference.

Ah, tape the cable down! That's the step I've been missing. I'll try to tape it to my shirt, too much hair on my body (yeah, TMI). Thanks, Markus!
Great tips! And you take good care of your body FYI!
working on getting better audio with just the stuff I have on hand.
i have to click on it given the dedication displayed by the crazy hair thumbnail :P
I already knew what you were doing cause I watched all your videos prior to this one. But that cow in your thumbnail........ 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Cheers 🍻
Hi Markus. How are your video setup looks like at home? I know light is nr1 important. Do you use a screen when you do your videos like the Samsung nx500 review? I have 4 cameras, the smallest one is a Canon G16 and I love it. It has its limitations but it's OK for video. I use my note s20 ultra sometimes when I do my reviews on youtube and because of that I can see myself on the screen while iam talking. I hope you can show how you would do a simple video light setup.

1:45 I've learned avoid placing mic near heart, since it will pick up all heartbeat sound throughout. Is there trick to this?
👍
With the wireless mic's I have I sometimes accidentally hit the mode button and it switches to stereo. When I get ready to edit I realize it and then have to just combine the channels to one single mono channel. It would probably sound better in stereo but danged if I know how to do that without using both transmitters with to lav mics. Maybe that is the only way, I'm not sure,,,,,obviously I am a LONG ways from being professional...lol
Could you make a video comparing different methods? 1. Yourself recorded outside as in this video. 2. Youself recorded indoors against a green screen with an electric fan blowing! 4. Yourself speaking outside in the wind, but the soundtrack dubbed in post. Can you make a chroma key production that's so good it looks like you were really there? Start with on the roof of your house! Thanks for uploading.
Hello Sir, What application you use to do the audio adjustment?

Would sticking it on the throat or under the ear do better still?
I mentioned the ear microphone in the audio series, and no its not as good there because it's not a straight shot to the mouth. Throat placement is also not as clear as chest because the jaw acts as a barrier
Nice one thanks, but how, do I get to participate in Your giveaways as a Ghanaian
Giveaways are mentioned in random videos on this channel, but they are hidden so people don't just watch the videos for giveawaya
Yahoo I am going to fly y’all out to GA. Then maybe you can teach me audio. With my 3ed grade education. Lol
Hi Markus.
All your videos are brilliant and I have watched them all 😻
Your audio series gives a solid foundation...
Though something on manual synchronisation would be nice, as my computer isn't powerful enough.. Davinci needs 16gb+ of virtual ram..
Something on working with stereo would be interesting.. as it gives an additional dimension.

Thats a total clickbait.. i was waiting for the flying cow the whole time. I feel scammed 😆😆😆
So i see vie is flying but not you, something is wrong with gravity.😂😂😂😂
Could someone please donate a mic and camera they don't use or like??? As strange as it may seem I want to do short vegan documentary and I would really really really appreciate it!
When I saw the "filters video" I knew that you will do a video like this🫰😄
