More on the vw than the old transit it's very basic lol have a good weekend
The Transit has a 'slightly larger' boot, though! Enjoy your weekend too, Ian.
Interesting!. Question is: do I trade in my bright, new, and shiny Rolls Royce and rush out to find/buy one? Decisions... decisions!! Maybe I should mention that my Rolls is only 7 inches long.
What a dilemma!
Hello, Stephen! That was a great review. This brings back so many memories, though luckily the one I drove had a direct gearbox, in fact it was very fun to drive :)
I remember it kept having issues with the exterior door handle.
Take care :) M
Thank you, Matt. This Polo has a new door handle, too. It's the wrong colour, though. Black not silver!
Ah, those were the days before technology came to save us!
Pre Skynet!
Got the 1.0 for my first car. Doing my lessons at the moment but driving it with my parents near enough every day, i love driving it. I think they’re such good looking cars inside and out. Great review mate.
Thank you. Good luck with the lessons and best wishes from CarSpyTV.
Cool man iike he way to talk good man😊
Thank you. Glad you like the channel.
I have the 1.4 tdi version and would highly recommend. Good review
Thank you and best wishes from CarSpyTV.
Nice for it's age!
Indeed it is.
Interesting.
In my opinion, a car from towards the end of any real pretence to "German engineering quality" for VW/VAG, more modern versions would cost a lot to get anywhere near 23 years, or half or quarter, and still going well.
Certainly one of the best superminis of its era. This particular car has been cared for, too. There's plenty of service history, etc.
@@CarSpyTV a bit too big and heavy (like all VWs) to be a mini in my book but it's all just marketing terms and as always each to their own. Wonder how the size and weight compares to a Mk1 Golf.😆
A 1980s Golf Cabriolet often parks close to CarSpyTV HQ. Rather tatty! It's held together with bathroom sealer.
@@CarSpyTV at least it's held together since the 80s, a more modern VW, Golf or other, wouldn't see 30+ years unless it's mothballed. IIRC the Golf cabriolet remained in Mk1 form well into (through?) mk2 tin-top. A mk1 VW Golf in cabriolet probably weighed close to the oversized and overweight mk2 tin-tops, As you can tell I'm not a fan of German marques particularly after fighting with 'clever' VW ideas today. Grrrrrr. 😁 But as always each to their own.
Hope you won today's fight, Nta16.
