I had a preowned double sticker Samurai Showdown back in the mid 90’s, didn’t even pay $100 for it, when I think about today’s Neo Geo prices it makes my wallet weep.
We never got these obscure consoles here in New Zealand, Mr. Wright Way, so it is really cool to see collection videos like this. I hope you will venture out to more uncommon systems like the The Phillips CD-i, Pioneer LaserActive, 3DO, N-Gage etc (which I remember having about 13 years ago.
Neo Geo is way out of my price range. I'm simply a poor mountain man from West Virginia. It all emulates perfectly on my OG Xbox though. Besides, I'm still working on my 3DO collection. I'll be watching your journey and living vicariously that way. Let us know when you score Kizuna Encounter
Coming from a low to middle class family, I knew of only one kid that had a neo geo growing up. Great collection. Do you come to toomany games or Sege conventions?
Ummm almost no one knew of anyone that had a NeoGeo because of the cost. You aren't alone. I remember being jealous of those who won a NeoGeo on that game show. I was SUPER jealous because that WAS the arcade experience back then. Capcom tried that with a limited CPS but SNK was dedicated to putting all their product in arcades and a few other companies decided to put games on it. Maybe Capcom could have pulled it off if they completely left the console market for a few years and ONLY put their product out on the arcades.
