    Another great video TR.
    What I love about your content, is that you are not afraid of filming things that don't go to plan.
    You're just a normal bloke who makes content about his everyday car goals, and woes, no punches pulled.

    FYI in the future be a little careful with stuff like that leak that was happening at the end from the coolant! It can blow up and you'll end up burning your face or your arm off. Happened to a mate who had a BMW, opened the bonnet, seen a little smoke coming out, tried fiddling with the lid and it blew up all over his arm - ended up burning his whole skin off.
    But awesome video in general.

    I can't remember from past videos but double check the engine ground strap on the passenger side of the engine bay, it decays and falls apart and can cause all sorts of electrical gremlins and 'false' codes. It should be shiny and flat mesh but if it looks copper/green/brown and has expanded and looks round it needs replacing.

    • @andreyt1436
      @andreyt1436 Před 2 lety +1

      Yup had this happen to a friend. His car would randomly go into limp mode! I ended up swapping his voltage regulator on the back of the alternator, pretty easy to do! Also since hamza has the leak from the oil filter housing it probably leaked onto the regulator! Thats why its going into limp mode!

    • @TRHamza
      @TRHamza  Před 2 lety +6

      Will be troubleshooting it in the next video; ordered a few bits like the voltage regulator. It behaved exactly like you described and there was no coolant leak so agreed it likely is all voltage related

    • @ahw5hcgfyj
      @ahw5hcgfyj Před 2 lety

      intake scoops are proven to be the most useless mod. and the car has coolant temp issue due to an electrical issue, not intake air temp issue. the "hot air intake" thing is a myth on a turbocharged car like this. air gets heated by the burning hot turbos and then gets cooled back down by the intercooler. it has been proven over and over on many cars in the 500-1000whp range

    You will defo need a waterpump, common issue on these but can also be damaged when not bleeding the coolant right, maybe when you replaced the coolant bottle. With the electrical issue the car is more than likely due a recall which is to do with a battery cable onto you front fuse box. They have a poor connection. Get that sorted at bmw first free of charge!

    BMW's don't like to be called cheap. It will make u pay for that. It are great cars unless u don't maintain them well. they need regular oil changes, with proper oil. The higher end motors need additives / v-power every once in while. These cars come down from 80k to 20 in only a few years, thats 60k like 8 years, and generally they need maintenance by then, on a 20k occasion you should calculate 5 k of repairs and then you are good to go for a couple of years with around 1-2k of repairs/maintenance. Honestly its a steal. especially the 3 series diesels with the 6 in line can go on forever if u maintain and drive them well.
