- We finally got the opportunity to ride the new 2023 RE Super Meteor 650 in and around Jaisalmer to test its capabilities. While the engine of the new cruiser is same as 650 twins, it has been tuned differently to suit a more comfortable ride posture. Its frame too has been revised. It's available in three different variants - Astral (solo seat), Interstellar (dual seat without backrest and windscreen) and Celestial (Grand tourer) priced at Rs 3.49 lacs, Rs 3.63 lacs, and Rs 3.78 lacs (ex-showroom) respectively. My opinion about any automobile is not complete without the words Khamma ghani at the beginning of a review. This guy and Gagan.... keeps me hooked to automobile reviews. No nonsense...just the Octane. I however, feel that adventure tourers make more sense when traveling long distances, especially given our road conditions. The thing with cruisers is that, they look comfortable with the stretched out sitting posture, but is literally a pain in the butt, when traveling long distances. Adventure tourers, gives you enough to stand up on the pegs to stretch your legs and butt, without stopping. I'm waiting for A Himalayan 650, to be honest. This bike no doubt looks dope, but most will end up doing weekend rides.

I have driven RE AVL for over 10 years. I always wanted disk brakes on both wheels, proper luggage bags and comfortable seats. Since late roads are better but it depends where you are driving to. I enjoy touring a state through the state roads rather than destination drives on highway. This bike is no good for me. I’m waiting for a bike with power 650 or 800 in the old style. A better chassis with better wheels and less noisy engines and better clutches is desired. Will shotgun offer this?

Definitely it is a good bike, and its better tuned. BUT, there are critical quality issues with connecting rod seen with all the models including interceptor 650. Which is quite a silly thing from royal enfield. This is very common in RE bikes. I hope they have taken care , as this requires a major engine work. Having and capturing the middle segment is a matter of pride for them :D but they should also learn from weaknesses of the their products. Just wrapping the same engine in a different chassis is okay, but then engine work coming up even before 50k is not acceptable. It is the customer who has to pay for it and RE makes good money out of it. So all the enthusiastic boys and girls who has booked it with all your dreams :D do not ignore it and make sure RE has taken care of this.
130 mm ka tyre to 350 m aa jata h I think rear tyre ka profile or achha ho sakta thha and when into premium segment dual disc can be experimented atleast for the front tyre that will give a immense compatibility to this machine

I find the" classic "sitting position as most comfortable, also the "classic" position helps in better management in busy traffic's. I like super but classic is my choice

better to buy interceptor and just change seat and fit handle bar risers. bonus is great ground clearance and manageable weight. great city rides and highway as well. all this at lower price.

This is what an Indian looks for in a review. Simple , crisp, practical. You may want to add kitna deti hein, tank capacity, tubeless tyres, how are the stock mirrors in city and highway, accessories built in vs what you can get from RE directly. Thanks for a lovely review. If you do comparison, then I think this and bmw gs310R will call in that price band if 4.1lacs on road

As a Triumph Bonneville and Indian Chief owner, I can honestly say this Bike looks awesome, and I would consider owning one.
I will go down to my local Royale Enfield Dealer and take a look at one.
This is one of the fantastic bikes of India and in budget. Moreover, it will fulfill the dreams of those young enthusiasts who were looking for cruiser bikes. But they are still expensive like Harley Fat boy etc and cant be affordable. No doubt imported bikes are top notch but price really varies.

Improperly setup rear suspension and high kerb weight might be the reasons why many people wont go for this bike.
It will do good in global markets as an entry level cruiser... however, in India we will need to wait and watch.

5he Avenger Cruise 220 is perfect for highway cruising. Not to mention, I did 670 kms ina single day in the Cruise 220 from Pratapgarh to Noida. Just 2.15 hrs total stoppages in between.

It would be great if they bought V-Twin engine. price for this bike is too much.I always found royal Enfield used nuts and blots of MS material they would have to work for SS materials after one raining season all Ms part get rushed and few years there body frame get rushed specially below battery side. Engine also started making tapped noise too. They realy have to work on this. Plz don't think indian buyers are fool export quality is different then domestic quality and standard.
