  • Attention all SERIOUS bass anglers, Hack Attack has an important message for you! Greg Hackney is a Bassmaster Elite Series pro with years of experience catching bass with "old school" tactics, but he's not dismissive of "new school" electronics, like LiveScope. When launching your Phoenix, Bass Cat, Vexus, or other bass boat, and motoring around the lake, focus on quickly scanning for fishing hot spots. Places where bass like to live, hide and ambush baitfish, crawfish and other forage. Once you drop your Motorguide or Minn Kota trolling motor, use all your gear (ActiveTarget forward facing sonar, Ghost 360 or other live sonar technologies) to analyze where the fish might be hiding, especially shallow bass near cover. Utilize your sonar, side scan, and contour lines on your GPS mapping to understand the bottom structure and water temperature. Pattern fishing is key, so once you catch a fish, figure out why it was there and use your electronics and technology to find similar spots.
