My aunt uses those towers as 'bee towers' filling them with bee attracting flowers. So she can move them to area's where her veg needs pollinating.

Roasted cabbage is my favorite way of eating it. Wait 🤔 No.... It used to be. I always made what is referred to on recipe sites as cabbage steaks. You simply slice through the heads of cabbage cutting the wedges and inch thick horizontally, brush on a good coating of olive oil and roast on high heat until they caramelize. Delicious. However, I experimented and kicked it up a notch. I make what I call cabbage bruschetta lol. I follow the steps to make cabbage steaks but in the last 15 minutes of roasting I add cherry tomatoes, crushed garlic, basil and some olives to the top and It is so incredibly good. Trust me you'll love it.

Those cabbage heads are EPIC!!!! :D As to the strawberries, the straw isn't going to help one bit! I purchased Albion strawberry roots last spring and put 24 in a 4x8ft raised bed. I mulched it throughout the year with grass clippings and straw but didn't do anything else (other than water them occasionally). The summer got too hot for me, so I wasn't able to stay on top of the runners. In the fall, I had to thin the runners out and ended up with over 100 plants that I pulled and STILL had plants in the bed! I let them over winter in the bed and here in zone 6a they are just starting to come out of dormancy! Hoping I can keep on top of the runners this year. :) Too bad I couldn't sell those runners, though. I could have made a fortune! :D
Oh, and just to warn you, you have officially been deemed worthy enough to become EPIC cat slaves now! :D hehe Good luck with that. ;) ;)

In the future you may want to give them the winter experience by giving them December in the fridge, January in the freezer and the first two weeks February in the fridge. Then you can plant them when the days start warming up for you. You may end up treating them as annuals if you don't want the work. Strawberries need a colder winter than you have.

I’d love to see mini, micro, and tumbling/trailing tomatoes grown in one of the greenstalks. That would be very interesting to watch grow and a great demonstration of the use of those types of tomatoes. You don’t see greenstalks used like that often. You could probably get a ton of tomatoes in a small space. A cool use for the other would be as an herb tower. All types of herbs and many different varieties all together in one fragrant, flavourful tower.
I just ordered my first greenstalk for this season and I’m going to do strawberries. I have a small space so after planting all the veggies and herbs, I had no space left for fruit. This is the first year we’re going to (hopefully) have homegrown fruit! If they weren’t so expensive (especially to ship all the way over here to Canada) then I’d get one for small tomatoes, one for herbs, one for lettuce and other greens, and maybe even try mini peppers in one. Really would save space in the garden beds for other things. They also look beautiful loaded up with flowers as a flower tower! Maybe I can collect them over time. They’re supposed to be quite durable and great quality.

Your comment about cannabis and grape growers is so spot on! After working in the cannabis industry, coming from a vegetable/home gardening background it is amusing seeing the approach of soul/nutrients etc from a strictly cannabis growing mindset. IMO the narrow scope and hyper fixation of one plant makes it harder than it has to be. As you stated the monetary value of certain crops is higher, but factor in taxes, and high overhead compared to growing vegetables the ROI is pretty close between both. That is the case in my area in northern climate/indoor only. I have stepped away from the industry and all their rules so I can enjoy all the plants again lol. Love your channel and super job on the cabbages. We grow giant ones here in Alaska, sometimes up to 100lbs at the state fair.
