WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS STEAM RELEASE! - Conflict: Desert Storm | TWITCH HIGHLIGHTS

- Not so long ago, I attempted to do a stream of a childhood favourite squad shooter on the original Xbox called Conflict: Desert Storm! I bought this copy off Steam & I was not prepared for what I was yet to experience...
In this video I showcase all of the bugs & glitches I encountered from a steady 5 hour stream. Rest assured, a full playthrough will be coming to the channel very soon as I've found working ROMs for all of the Conflict games (except for Spec Ops, we don't talk about that...)
Thank you for everyone who tuned in as well as all of your support for the channel! Don't forget to check out my Twitch channel linked below to get amongst the live action \m/

I had the exact same problem with the second game! One mission was completely unplayable because it needed you to jump off a ledge lol
Good to see this game being shown some love. This game also has a special place in my heart. 😎
Likewise, this series of games capsulated a large portion of my childhood. Can't begin how happy I am to be able to play them again
You simply have to limit the framerate to 60 or 75 FPS and the game will behave correctly. You can use Riva Tuner for example
Cheers, found a few emulators since I posted this & never looked back. But this intel may be useful for someone out there 🤘
@@pundemoniuumgames3815 You are saying its better to play Conflict: Desert Storm on the PCSX2 emulator over the Windows PC version?
I couldn't compare the two having not played the Windows version. PCSX2 is easy to use & does the job
@@pundemoniuumgames3815 I see I see, thanks for the insight.
Anytime buddy 🤘
of the years i've played conflict desert storm 1:10 I have never had that happen to me.. i played it on the PC for a few years then relocated to PS2
Made some good content though haha I ended up downloading a few ROMS of these games & managed to complete them! Extra perk, it allowed me to use an Xbox controller, just like the old days :D
@@pundemoniuumgames3815 i've already played the game on easy for long enough now. i've even started playing the game on hard mode and completed it twice on hard mode and managed to get the victoria cross and medal of honour..
@@columnedfox5508 I applaud you Sir!
That intro was fantastic lol
Every time I use the "dip dip potato chip" sound, I always get a fleeting urge to smash some Doritos xD
man i love those glitchy animations
Aren't they just the best!?
this is one of my all time favourite games, the fact that steam ruined it infuriates me
Hence why I started looking into emulators for the full playthrough. Steam even had, up until recently, the failed Spec Ops game which they removed
nice man, good to see these old games getting some love, even if its a steam funked up version xD
Cheers my dude! I absolutely loved the Conflict series (not including Spec Ops) so much as a kid. I'm currently putting together full playthroughs of each game soon!
very nice to still see videos about Conflict games even 20 years after their releases. I have the same bugs in my Steam edition but thanks to my bros in the comments I'll check the solutions to fix that
edit : well the solution is simply dumb : there's no more falling bugs on the Steam version if you limit your PC on 30 or 60 fps not more with RivaTuner. Although I have besides Steam version another copy of the game (originally from the game's PC disk) and in this version I never had a single falling bug whatever the number of fps is. So yes you can remove the "DON'T BUY THIS ON STEAM!" title now that we know the problem and the solution to the falling bus lol. Because paying less than 1$ for this game during Steam discounts is still worthy imo
Let us know how you go & thanks for tuning in! \m/

I loved this game so much
I treasure this series of games as well!
9:26 i still do this till this day since i was a kid
I tried doing this again in my second playthrough using an emulator & they wouldn't budge :(
It was fun while it lasted though xD
I always tried on hard to get Colonel rank for John Bradley at the end. The rest of the squad were just revivors :)
Because I first started playing this coop with my younger brother, Jones & Foley were my main two boys. Playing it by myself, I'd usually always send Connors out as a heavily armed meatshield xD
@@pundemoniuumgames3815 it's a darn shame our heroes too often go off to take a shit while floating in the air (damn restarts)
Hence why I resorted to an emulator. Poof! Issues be gone!
@@pundemoniuumgames3815 but the most annoying thing was when you minimize the game and get back to it game speed skyrockets and your whole squad can die off in an instant (apart from fast running). I'm glad I had my old copy :)
@@pundemoniuumgames3815 I tried to play GTA:VCS on the emulator...... never again - I guess I'm too old for console controls :D
i remember playing this for days on end for my ps2, only if the conflict series will come back
As much as I'd LOVE to have more Conflict games, I don't think we'll be seeing Pivotal again after Spec Ops. That title pretty much single handedly destroyed the franchise :(
@@pundemoniuumgames3815 Along with the company shutting down soon after and since Square Enix published the game to be brought to both gog & Steam it's obvious they have no interest in the other games or have plans with the rights.
Which sucks, I'm a massive fan of Pivotals work, minus the last game they gave us
Apparently, there is a way to get it functional on Steam version, though I never tried it myself yet. czcams.com/video/pH9D__g1yqs/video.html&ab_channel=Plasros I guess you have to download the Nvidia Inspector and set framerate limit to 60fps? I'd like to do it personally, because this is one of my favorite games of all times.
This will prove most useful for people who wanna give it a crack!
@@pundemoniuumgames3815 Indeed, I agree. Thanks for posting this video as well. Really enjoyed it!
No problem at all my dude! Thank YOU for tuning in 🤘
@@Helos743 Cheers for the sub dude, much love 🤘
@@pundemoniuumgames3815 No problem, we'll have to play some Desert Storm Multiplayer sometime. ^
Please how can i download this game ??????
There is literally a TONNE of emulator sites you can visit just by searching through Google. Once you have that & a working ROM, it's all a matter of just tweaking the two to get it running & away you go! There are a lot of very helpful tutorials on YT as well
This game was so good
Will always be a classic 🤘
glad that i still have my (ripped) retail copy, steam version sucks xD
It's a shame that they don't do maintenance on a product they're selling, more so one that is a nostalgic staple for most gamers today. On the bright side, at least some of glitches are humorous 🤘
So gutted this game doesn't work
I'm with you there, I almost leaped out of my chair with excitement when I saw this in their library! All I can say is, thank God for emulators \m/
it was a great game until Steam got its grubby hands on it like they do always
