Tested my void build in last week's strike and popped 5 supers along the way. Void was my first, and favourite. It's the ultimate space magic build.

They really need to drop echo of undermining to -10 to match other subclass fragments(radiant/jolt nades/ facet of dominance)
I'm glad i watched this video, i kinda wrote off Contraverse Hold a while ago but you made a great case for it in showing how it can proc again on larger enemies. Will be refreshing to run this rather than getaway artist for a change lol

I’ve been using this build for the past few days. Very easy to loop which makes it fun and it’s incredibly powerful! 10/10. I’ll be using this for a good while. Nice one Tizzle 👌🏻
Try Osmiomancy on the exotic class item. It's nearly the same effect, except you don't charge your grenade of course. I combined it with Star-Eater for the Nova Nuke.
pretty sure they stopped the interaction with grenades other than coldsnap
@@Wpar I'm currently running it with Vortex Grenade on my prismatic Warlock and i can confirm, the regen works exactly the same as Contraverse. Spirit of Osmiomancy still states "Your grenades (all of them) recharge quicker on hits. The seeker of Coldsnap grenades travel further." The 1st part of the effect is the interesting one.
The initial hits of grenades in general don't refund energy, but the lingering ones like Vortex, return about 55-60% energy with the dot ticks on a single target like Carl. When you throw it into a group of majors (like the dogs surrounding Carl) you will often get your full nade back, unless you kill them too fast with weapons or other abilities. Redbars also work, but it has to be a bunch and they have to survive the initial blow. However, it doesn't work on the prismatic nade though, but it has a very high regen on it's own. It would be too broken to spam your prismatic nades like a sunbracers warlock so i can understand that decision ^^

have this class item and frankly it's powercrept this contraverse build in the same way that my foetracer gyrfalcon build has powercrept my old gyrfalcon build (foetracer procs off of volatile so it's a permanent x4 surge for your void weapons)
I've been mostly taking a break from D2 since the middle of Act 1, and just messing around with some fun prismatic builds when I do play. It's great to see a reminder that the other subclasses are still viable, especially voidlock.
I've been running a beast controverse build since last season it's not left even with Prismatic. I get my grenade back in seconds plus that new artifact mod and Levianthans absolutely slaps!

I am the same as you, love to run contraverse and run a very similar build, I love expulsion, but lately run Harvest - Defeating weakened enemies spawns an Orb of Power and a Void Breach

I'm a returning player who's been around since D2's launch and played through all of D1. I came back because the devs finally addressed my concerns. I was hesitant due to the aggressive monetization, but I'm glad I gave it another shot. As a OG Void Lock fan, I dove back in with the new Void-focused quests for Warlocks. I got everything I needed, including Contraverse Hold and Graviton Lance, and jumped straight into Light 1920. What's made my experience great is playing the class and subclass I love, and it's incredibly powerful. I'm outperforming veteran players with fancy titles and high Guardian ranks, often by a lot. In a wave defense mission with two 2000+ Light players, I got 75% of the kills and reached wave 56.
I'm not a top-tier player, but this build is simple and forgiving. It's all about maintaining Hunger, and the abilities make it easy to recover from mistakes. With Hunger up, I feel almost invincible, and it refreshes after every kill. I think this is one of the best builds for newer or returning players to try out.

Ive never stopped using contraverse For like 2 years so... Glad you know its the best warlock nade. Nades can be specced with 3 firepower mods and get orbs from weakened kills fragments. Combined w innervation to get grenades up 100% of the time w just 1-2 kills per nade which isnt asking much.

Graviton Lance (Works best 4 it)
Adding Mountaintop or Strand Rocket Sidearm works nice with it
For Heavy pic any Void weapon based on Activity
Chaos Accelerant + Feed the Void
Undermining (Grenades weakens Targets)

Harvest (Kill weakened makes Orb+ Void breach)

This Build is my Favourit as Iam Love playing on Void when i play as Warloc
U can play agressive or passive throwing your Nades but i like play agressiv so this build gives me a nice Loop of Making a ton of Orbs , Constant Healing and Grenade uptime from Devour , Void Breach and Orbs WHILE the buffed Main and Heavy Weapons deal great damage against weakend Targets
I rediscovered contraverse when I wanted to test weapons I never played. Now I rock season of the wish bow, with explosive arrows and void overshield, paired with the fragment that gives you volatile rounds and watch the room go boom in a single arrow (explosive makes volatile detonate :D)
You know on the top three gaming CZcamsrs I watch, especially when it comes to Destiny 2 information. I really like how you are methodical and informative at the same time to provide some amazing information. Clearly, you’ve done the testing which is awesome. Cheers!

you can get the same effect on prismatic with the osmiomancy bond and you can pair it with any other exotic trait you prefer in the right column. Imo i prefer the prismatic equivalent of this build much more but in terms of power the void one is probably stronger although prismatic is funnier because of all the different element shenanigans
wanted to say after seeing you use point cannon brace last week, I gave it another try this week and LFG'd liminality with it. Took a couple of tries, but it worked well.
I was down on it during the campaign, but after giving it another shot w/ all of the facets unlocked along with some of the weapons from this season/expansion that pair with it, it's super legit.

Fttc + killing tally is another great combo, since you can one shot 3 red bar enemies and have a full magazine+ of 30% increased damage.
I have a triple hundred “Graviton Forfeit” build and she cooks!!

Triple 100's mean you're not using the correct aspects and fragments 99% of the time.
Yeah this build is one of my all time favorites. Saw that Esoterickk was always running it years back and loved it. You can still build into it I guess but I'd like a 3 sec cooldown or something
Graviton Lance is good but don’t underestimate the power of a good legendary: I’ve been using a similar Volatile Rounds build, and my Explosive Rounds Targeted Redaction cleans house! The explosion applies Volatile to everything it hits, and a second hit sets them ALL off!
It’s the same principle as Graviton, except it gets going faster at the cost of the ability to chain infinitely.
They should buff contraverse, it’s really sad that osmiomancy does what contraverse should but even better and with any grenade
The Osmiomancy insane grenade regen with any grenade glitch doesn’t work anymore. Bungie patched it on Tuesday sadly :(

There was a time when if I was running Warlock, I was running a Contraverse Hold build. I might give this a shot again.
Contraverse is my exotic of choice whenever void surge is on... because I don't have final shape to use prismatic.
It was such a strong exotic on liminality because of all the void shields and enemies grouping together! Still one of the best exotics!
Contraverse are fantastic. I've only solo'd one GM in my entire destiny career(Devils Lair) and these gloves carried me the whole way.
Can't believe I forgot about them cause I've been running Omni and Gyrfalcons for this GM and these would literally be perfect for this

hey man cool build! today i used the Graviton Lance and Nezarec's Sin combo build that i found it was pretty cool, cant wait to try this build next im assuming it will be sort of similiar
Contra is a must try. Especially this season with weaken damage. Simple, fun, great survivability and deadly.
Great video. The only thing you said that concerned me was that you said that you were on recuperation so you can get help when you're not getting kills. I can't remember if you're running echo of starvation, but that gives you full health on every single or pick up

Appreciate the video and tried this build, but with my stats, it doesn't come close to the results of Getaway Artist. I can't manage a 100 grenade stat along with 100 resilience (not even close). My grenade did return if I got a direct hit with the charged grenade. But in a 3-person activity, the enemy can be dead before the grenade can do the job. I might not be hitting the sweet spot with grenade damage, but I think this build is probably worth switching to with the stats you have, but Getaway Artist with stacks of void siphon and void weapon surge works much easier for regular player stats. I does get boring running the meta build, which is why this video was definitely a good option to consider.

That's funny, I* left after witch queen and this was my day 1 build that took me* through legend campaign. Came back for final shape basically changed nothing and started playing, still run it when I need to lock in as I'm not fully used to Prismatic yet nor do I have every unlock. Only sucks when people kill the ads in your nade :(
Paired with funnelweb or Le Mon was beast mode in witch queen

What about grenade kickstart? I know at some point the mod didn't worked with contraverse. I'll test it.

@@carldarley6026 Yes. No kickstart = between half and 3/4. 1 kickstart = between 3/4 near full. 2 kickstart = full nade back.

i cant lie man, ive been a diehard contraverse fan for years.
the regen nerfs in wish, the loss of mods like elemental wells in lightfall, the nerfs to chaos accelerant with witch queen..... it feels hard to justify using when we have prismatic now, especially when you factor in the exotic class items (osmiomancy, veritys, inmost light) and the fact that the transcendence grenade is just a better vortex
chaos accelerant is in real need of some buffs, whether they bring back the damage buff or change some other aspect of it, its fallen behind every other grenade enhancing aspect by a fair margin. also they need to bring back the 4th axion bolt back.
My fav build and have run it forever!
I think you can afford to reduce the recovery mod on the helmet because of the Devour and Overshield in the gameplay loop.
I thought contraverse was stealth nerfed a few patches ago, and Nezeracs was better? Did they undo that nerf?
It's still nerfed, the time delay in which you recover grenade energy is longer. Did watch the video, he mentioned that...
Have you made any buried bloodline builds? I finally got it and have been itching to put it to use at its peak, so far using it to give titan devour is amazing
they never left to begin with, but yes the seasonal mods work great with them

Nezeracs and Osmio do overall better while also being prismatic. Tested all 3 and Nezeracs was a bit slower then what you showed in video but it also gets all of your other abilities faster as well as a quicker super so contraverse is just a bit of gimped exotic compared to those while also lacking prismatic.
But Nazarec works with void damage only, not cold damage? Also eith CH you can use any weapon, not only void

Get new exotic class item with osmiomancy plus veritys brow. Combo. Betrer than them now. Plus extra damage. Wish i could use it on non prismatic build

imo they're about the same. I've been glued to a Star Eater + Osmio roll for a while now, though I'd imagine Chaos Accelerant would keep Contra more consistent
If I'm on void I'm running contraverse, if I'm on prismatic and using the vortex nade them ima run osmio/something else
Can't seem to find an answer anywhere so asking here... Graviton will shoot through shields on PvE with Hunter and Titan... But it won't with Warlock... Can someone tell me why or is it a bug?
Antibarrier artifact mod? Perhaps you do not have it activated on the artifact on your Warlock.
It's such a shame, because for a little bit you could use osmiomancy on void with vortex grenades, and it was basically pre nerf contraverse on crack.
Unfortunately that was fixed with one of the recent updates, and now only spirit of osmiomancy works with vortex grenades, but they're not that good on prismatic in my opinion
It is good if you pair it with spirit of starfire or verity.

I dont know why but i gravitate more to briarbinds more than contraverse hold.
Also good exotic, tho I find it too clunky to use - rift, shooting high hp enemy, then running and picking up void soul and risking death... CH is just fire and forget :)

Possibly, but you lose the super-charged grenade. You do however get access to that fragment that increases light ability damage to darkness debuffed enemies which might even it out.

@@RicardoGarcia-rp9pw yes and also the weaken fragment is only -10 disc vs -20 and you gain access to a better melee with the strand one, I guess testing needs to be done. Wither verity active I think it will outdamage contraverse hold.

Shieldcrush would work too right? Devour gives the grenade regen/damage.
Yes, shield crush is a great option as well, but just make sure you are running Expanding Abyss with it to take full advantage of 25% Weaken
the mod works with void OS not devour sadly
Since the change it’s kinda been power crept. If you want to weaken everything use void buddies or general ability spam would be nezeracs sin or prismatic

Do you think there are any older weapons still really worth using like Calus Mini Tool or Apex Predator? I have max resonances just wondering what is a good weapon to use them on.
both of those are very worth it
I would not use resonances on apex as its farmable. Theres alot of primaries in the sandbox currently so not having calus isnt going to be too much of a hit unless you dont have good solar primary options. So unless you dont have many solar options you should consider whether or not to use your resonances on calus mini tool.
Personally never liked Contraverse. Charging nades are the weakest part of the Voidwalker kit so it feels like a waste of an exotic slot.
No shortage of grenades in a normal Devourlock build, especially with something like Nezarec's Sin.

Contraverse doesn't seem to worth it over Nezzi, I'm gonna have to do some of my own testing, its just never seemed worthwhile it to me after its nerfs.

You can only use contraverse on void because the others don't have chaos accelerant. The closest thing would be the class item with spirit of osmiomancy with the vortex grenade on prismatic.

The fragment and aspect combo is new info to nobody. This guy must be starving for content. The only way to make controverse viable is to buff the regen so it functions exactly how it used to. You throw a grenade and if you get about 10 ticks, you fully recover your grenade. Contraverse vortex is an area control build, so it has to be potent enough to compete with all our other area control builds like osmiomancy. We have to be able to throw grenades back to back or it won't perform competitively

Sorry man no hate but this is one of the oldest warlock builds most people have ever used… Nothing about the new season makes it any different aside from Novabomb buff, so this is kinda clickbait.
Contraverse is really good, but is sadly outclassed for general play/add clear by nothing manacles
