I too didn't wear it before but like a miracle me and my family got Islamic education by right and educative teachers and now I love hijab more than my life like i would give up my life my youth my everything but would never take it off. Cause i don't understand why people make it look offensive of oppressed when it's just a small piece of cloth. And Allah said if you're in danger for yout hijab you're allowed to take it off. When your life or someone you love is in danger for hijab you can take it off now think why did he say that cause he knew that in this time people would kill those who would wear it. The way my parent taught me to love hijjab, just let me wear it and take it off once you felt uncomfortable. They never force me. Just everytime we going shopping or visit my external family they will asked me to wear one and when I felt uncomfortable I asked them if I can't take it off.. Who the heck is saying men are turned on by hair? The rule in Islam is that tell believing men to lower their gaze and protect their private parts, and tell the believing women to lower their gaze and cover up.
Both men and women have a duty to play in society so that society does not fall apart. Men are told to control their lust, women are told to withhold their beauty except for their husbands. Unlike in today’s society where women are “free” and go around being promiscuous and society setting unrealistic beauty standards for women where their worth and value is deemed if they freely show themselves to men, I think it is your society that is the problem and not Islam.

It’s written in both the Bible and the Quran to veil our heads and to cover our chest and that doesn’t specify anything. It’s only mentioned like twice in both. The adornments is just to cover them. I don’t get why others have to judge based on their interpretation of the Quran. Women are barely mentioned at all, besides the fact that men owe us money because they buy us into marriage, and that we ALL should veil in prayer as to not “see the face” of God. So I’m glad to hear that others don’t quite understand how it is obligatory. The only thing is modesty in general…so where are people getting this information because I am even more confused AFTER reading the Quran than I was before

I'm adding my two cents. While hijab is obligatory it's not easy to compel yourself to wear it or dress a certain way. I was never forced to by my parents, but my parents always spoke about good character and that first we are Muslim and then everything else follows. I later changed my dressing and wear hijab. I know so many girls that their parents forced them to wear hijab, and the first opportunity they got, it was off. But what we must remember that hijab is not just the headscarf. Anyone can wear that. It is the dress code. And the representation that follows. So to those ladies that are thinking about hijab, it's not about just wearing a headscarf. It's about covering your hair, dressing modestly and keeping your character in check. We are representatives of Islam. We are ambassadors of Islam. And in a way, this is our struggle. No man can understand this. But hijab is a personal jihad that many of undertake. And may we be rewarded for it as well. Ameen.

@@businessisboomin7252 ameen, jazakallahu khair for the dua. When I was young, my grandparents used to say if you don't dress as a Muslim and you die somewhere, how will those people know that you must be buried as a Muslim and (for example cremated). I just summarizing here. So that stayed with me, but I wasn't too bothered because as I grew up, people could always tell I was a Muslim even without dressing as one. People (non Muslim as well) just knew I was Muslim. So I took it for granted. Now me in general I have always been proud to be a Muslim and assumed that everyone will always know what my religion is. Until a few years back when I was talking to someone (a non Muslim) and we were talking about religion. And he ask me what religion I was from😕 I felt a little offended. It was obvious I was Muslim wasn't it? No. I was the one being silly. I was not dressed as Muslim so how could the person have known. It was then that I realised (I know, I was silly) how could I assume people would know who I am if I don't dress the part and it shocked me. The next day, my hijab was on lol.
So I'm saying this because for me, what I represented was important. I want people to know I'm Muslim. It was because of this that made it easier for me to dress as one. So each parenting is different, but if you can instill the love of Islam in your child, not fear. Love. You child would one day also want to be seen as a Muslim and nothing else. And also dua helps. I remember my uncle making dua that one day I will cover my hair lol. I said ameen to the dua, and a year later that's exactly what happened. But, it helps to slowly introduce the headscarf to children when they're small. Eg, when the read Qur'an, have them wear hijab, then after that let them take it off when done. Or when attending a gathering...maybe like a woman's talk etc, have them wear hijab and compliment them on their beauty with it. They're your kids. Have them wear hijab every Friday during the day, until they come home. And talk to them about it. The importance of it. But in all honesty when you're a young girl, you actually want the attention of your crush at school etc. It's a normal part of growing up so usually young girls don't like dressing modestly lol. But then you can remind your daughter that young men are not the only boys you're attracting but also older men who do not have good intentions. May Allah make it easy for all parents trying. But like I say, encourage your daughter to wear it. Make it obligatory on occasion to wear it (Fridays, or when doing religious studies etc and definitely when she leaves the house at night. Even to go in the garden, her hair must be covered when outside at night) but other days let her be. Slowly encourage her, and compliment her and talk to her about the importance of it. And insha'Allah it will help.

You say it's obligatory, but you weren't forced to wear it. You do realize those two are opposites, right? And why do only women have to "represent islam" by covering themselves up completely, but men can walk around how they please? Don't even try to bring up men's "dress code", cuz it doesn't follow the same standards as that of women's. Also, isn't character and spiritual traits in general more important than what we wear on the outside? I'm sick of all this judgement from people who are in no way better than us, but act all self entitled and have a superiority complex! True but to be able to fall in love with something or someone you have to give yourself time to learn and get to know the aspect of this thing/person you don’t just jump into it and hope for the best. So if you want your daughter to wear one you first have to educate them about it and share with them the importance of wearing it. By doing that they would fall in love with the concept and then decide to wear. If you impose your daughter to wear one « for their own good » it’s like a forced mariage yes it might be good but it’s unethical. Giving your child the time to decide can be compared to an arranged mariage: You set it up but in a more ethical way because at the end of the day she’s the one that decides.

Some acts are major sins (drinking, backbiting, fornicating etc.) while others are minor sins. Polytheism and disbelief both take you out the fold of Islam, whilst major and minor sins make you a sinning Muslim. You can repent from major and minor sins, and even polytheism and disbelief:
      1. If you repent from major and minor sins before death then we hope for you paradise.
If you don’t repent from major and minor sins before death then you could be either forgiven or punished before entering paradise.
      2. You can repent from polytheism and disbelief before death.
If you have died in a state of polytheism or disbelief then you would have no chance at paradise as it is committed the most heinous of sins. For it is the giving the rights of God to other than God. Imagine your parents clothe you, feed you, aid you, pay you, and after all this you thank a tree or a man or a prophet. This is the example of what it is like. Allah clothes you, feeds you, sustains you, heals you, created you and you weren’t previously mentioned, and aided you with intellect and good sustenance.

I started praying regularly since then, and wore hijab, clicked less pictures and uploaded very few on social media coz whatever is uploaded on the Internet it stays there forever. Lo and behold, she fell out of Islam. let me say it again, 👏🏽DO NOT FORCE YOUR CHILD TO WEAR HIJAB AGAINST THEIR WILL👏🏽 if you really care about your daughter, you will encourage (key word, ENCOURAGE) the hijab, and talk about the benefits, not cuz “because I’m you father and I say so astagfirullah you will rot in hell!!” Wallahi if the prophet saws were to come down and see the abuse these Muslims parents are doing to their kids, he would be disappointed

If the hijab is forced then how can someone truly say they're wearing it for Allah ? When I took my Shahada, a big point was made by the Imam that I wasn't forced into Islam but that I did my research and decided for myself. If someone is forcing you to wear it then how can that please Allah, if it doesn't come from a personal choice but the fear of man and not the fear of Allah ? I'm a new Muslim so I don't as much but Allah knows best. May Allah continue to guide us.
