I've recently (in the past couple of day) picked up both of these - Sony fit. I'm shocked at how good these are, the 1/1 flash at 76W is stupidly powerful. If anyone has come to this video while trying to decided on a purchase, I'd highly recommend nabbing yourself a set. I paid £65 for the trigger and £230 for the V1 from London Camera Exchange.

First time I decided to buy a radio transmitter, I saw the pocket wizard. I thought "oh they are expensive! They must be flawless"...and I bought them thinking "don't buy cheap, so you won't have to buy twice"...after so many failed shots, so many times resetting everything, I went for godox. Never an issue there. And so much easier!
Same. Pocket wizard kind of tainted me from even enjoying off camera flash. Now it’s just easy again
I was a Pocket Wizard user and as the years went by I saw their quality slowly slip until I just couldn't take it anymore and switched to Godox

Taylor, thanks for your video and explaining your simple is better style for using the Godox V1 flash. I'm curious why you chose the Godox XPro trigger instead of getting the simpler Godox X2T trigger instead? Since you are not using multiple remote flashes, you don't really need the XPro, whereas the X2T trigger is smaller and has a pass-through hotshoe in case you want to add a flash on top which might be useful. Also, don't you find the small magnetic dome useful at all for attaching onto the V1 head? Maybe for taking run and gun softer fill candids? I liked and subbed, thanks for making all your videos!
Hi Taylor, what light stand are you using to affix the Godox V1 on? You’re not using the Godox S2 Bowens Mount?

that's the exact same set up I use for my personal use, except Im a Canon user, but I do use the Mark IV, 35, 85, and 70.200 with the V! and xpro from Godox, damn, nice

Do you need a trigger for a Sony A7iii with this flash? (On camera?) I thought you could use wireless.
Taylor, can you explain how you set up your Good Xpro and V1?
I’m digging the V1 as well but for Canon 5d mkIII and in my case Canon 1DX shooters, the focus assist on the transmitter and V1 if used on camera as trigger is just not adequate enough for most dimly lit wedding receptions. My work around until the 1DX MK3 is released is to use my Canon flash as focus assist and the Godox transmitter on a cold shoe bar with synch cable. Nikon D5 shooters or anything newer should be fine with the set up you suggested. Thanks for the coupon code - this literally just popped into my feed.

S.O.S!!! I am shooting my first wedding this weekend, and I am panicking! I just set up my Godox V1 with Magmod on my Nikon D750, and my camera WILL NOT FOCUS, regardless of the lighting. What is happening?!
Any idea if you could use 1 flash on 2 systems? For example buy the Nikon controller and flash but a 2nd Sony controller to use it off camera?

sounds awesome for off camera flash but is it also as great for on camera? Does the fact that it's round affect the use of something like a rouge flash bender (i like using these!)

Interesting that you don't use any of the other attachments. I've seen others use the dome or reflector card to get catch lights and as a fill which I think is very useful when running and gunning.

How to use two or more flashes. My trigger connects only one flash the other does not connect. Who can show how to do this?
I have the gidox v1 and Flashpoint r2 pro mkii. Using on a canon r5. With the trigger it only gives me manual or multi. No option for ettl. Any ideas?

Hello does anyone know how much shots you can get on one battery in this Godox (Quadralite in Poland) at 1/32 of power. I’m asking because first I bought this flash and then I realized that it is nearly impossible to buy vb26 batteries for replacing (in Poland generally there’s no information and stores online to buy battery for V1)

Hi Taylor - how long can they sleep for. I had some Yongnu that after 15 mins just would power down then I'd have to find the flash and press them manually to wake them.
Great video i've just bought the vi and about to order the wireless trigger, can you use rechargeable batteries in the trigger unit,as it's advised not to use them in some units as they put out too much power

i am doing my first wedding in a couple months its destination beach wedding, i mostly only do natural light photography but want to make sure i am prepared for this wedding, do you think this godox vi will be sufficient?
How did it go? I would like to hear about your experience. I too like to shoot in natural light, but sometimes i guess you will need an external light source for better image quality. So i am planning in buying the v1.
Hey Taylor, how is the recycle 1/1 or 1/2, I did a ceremony outside at 3pm last friday, and the sun was in the diagonal back...I use my 600 EX-RT I to fill the scene, but the recycle time takes to long (5s), making me choosing more when to shoot like in the old times lol....I already have the Xpro c, but looking if worth changes my two 600 RT and canon transmitter.
Seems like 1 second for full. 1/2 I shot pretty quickly and didn’t actually have any failed fires. But then shot 1/4th very quickly (like 4-5 frames a second) and it missed out on one frame a second on average. No science here, just my observations haha

They look very similar. I haven’t used the z1 though. (This is actually the first I’m hearing of it)

Just press the menu button scroll down and change it there.

does battery on d850 work work with z6? and z6 battery work with d850?
Z6 is a new battery version that can charge by USB. Personally I’d use the z6 battery in the 850 but not an 850 battery in a z6
i use both versions of battery to both cameras with out any problems
When do you decide to point it at the ceiling or at the crowd?
Depending on the look you want really. Plus you really only bounce off a white ceiling, if it's black you're losing tons of light and it won't really bounce back.
Do you have issue with exporting images from the XQD card? The process stops after 2,3 images get exported, and the card just freezes.
Is it because I deleted pictures from the camera before exporting all images?

when I use a trigger with my Godox V1F, the modeling lamp lights up automatically, I need to go to the flash and turn it off manually. any ideas how to fix it?
Turn it off in your trigger.

It’s likely going to be the same. I think they manufacture as a few different brands. Which is confusing
