- I flew with Japan Airlines from Tokyo (Narita) to Los Angeles and experienced JAL Sky Suite, a Business Class seat like a private room.
It was super comfortable.

I think this is the first one of these videos where we're going beyond the borders of Japan. This is a historic moment.
Except for Thailand.

You stole my heart when your hands were shaking. You seem like such a wonderful person.
Only Solo could describe his meals in "rounds" as if he's in a boxing ring. 🥊🥊🥊
That’s pretty normal 🤷🏻♂️
I've come to the conclusion that Solo san is a Professional Food Muncher! He even clears his plate of unknown and mysterious looking foods, foods he's not keen on...One time, in Okinawa, he ate a piece of rubber that was disguised as a tasty steak, which almost destroyed Solo san's soul! This man is a foodie legend😊
its kind of a cultural thing too. japanese people will eat the food put in front of them.
His body is 100% healthy... and 10% curry, by weight.
@@BoredInNW6 😄 haha! I agree!
Yes i admire him for always finishing his food whatever the taste and amount no waste

I love it when I see the old "!!" after taking a bite. BTW, why the orange juice preference?
2:32 First Class Lounge admittance based on JAL Mileage Bank level requires at least JGC Premier status. In order to reach this status, a member must qualify through one of two means:
- 80,000 FLY ON points, half of which must be earned on JAL flights
- 80 flights, half of which must be JAL flights PLUS 25,000 FLY ON points
To get a sense of the difficulty of earning FLY ON points: A economy ticket with a moderate discount from Tokyo to Fukuoka would net you around 800 points.
Once you attain the status, there are a number of enhancements available (to Japanese residents) to make retaining that status easier, but you have to do it the hard way the first time around.
I was allowed to enter a few days ago with my One World airlines Emerald Status gained through American Airlines. Platinum Pro status on American Airlines, which grants you Emerald Status in One World, is attainable if you have a American branded credit card and fly at least 4 times a month. I was surprised to see that One World partner airlines grant far more leniency international travelers compared to their own domestic customers!
@@MrRevilo50 I feel like you’re understating the difficulty of attaining 125,000 Loyalty Points a bit lol
It’s funny that you should mention the difference in treatment between native and partner travelers. American does something similar, for those who are unaware: Partner oneworld Sapphire and Emerald members can use American Airlines Admirals Club and Flagship Lounges while flying within the US, but top-tier American AAdvantage Executive Platinum members (Concierge Key is invite-only so it doesn’t count) cannot use those lounges based on status alone when flying domestically.
I marvel at your ability to eat so much food and still stay a healthy size. Is it all the walking?
That's crazy... I just hope to even ride on a jet once someday! I've only ever been on small single engine planes and helicopters but my biggest bucket list fantasy is to actually go somewhere on a big airliner.
you can also get lounge access if you have their credit card LOL
Just flew in JAL Sky Suites last month - Chicago to Tokyo. Easily the best flight I’ve ever had.
How long was your flight?
@@steverogers7601 About 12 hours
I cracked up when he zoomed into the Ren’s special curry and then debated since he already had 2 bowls in his belly already. Great video.
I like the shadow of the plane lifting up. Clever recording

If I knew you were coming to California, I would’ve looked for you to say “hello”. Hope you had a nice time.
You gotta post what you do in LA.
Thanks to your love of curry, I finally decided to try it from a Japanese restaurant and I absolutely love it! Now I understand why you almost always get curry 🤤 Oishi 😋
🦘🇦🇺🦘🇯🇵
That looked very comfortable, STJ, and so civilized! Thank you for showing us the menus, so we could imagine what we would choose. You must choose the wagyu beef curry on your next business class adventure, and tell us how delicious it was.
Wait are we funding your trips to LA now!? YES!!! Let's meet up! 😎🙃
I've always thought that if you have a long flight, and you can afford it, paying for first class is doing yourself a favor in terms of comfort. The food looked amazing as well!
Absolutely. I've flown coast-to-coast economy for work a few times, and those experiences convinced me to save up and do first class when I take personal flights of that length.
First class is overrated and mostly about bragging rights. Business class is usually what matters, to the point that some airlines don't even HAVE first class anymore (like Qatar - their business class is basically better than pretty much anyone else's first class).
@@BlownMacTruck It's definitely not what it used to be. Pre-9/11 it was incredible.
It depends on the airline honestly.
I agree, it’s better flying first class if you can afford but some first class experiences aren’t worth it. Sometimes there isn’t that huge of a difference.
However, some airlines do have a great first class experience and absolutely worth it if you have a long flight.
@@steverogers7601 Is AirFrance's first class any good?
"I'm getting hungry ..." these words are kind of redundant on a STJ video 🤣
Oh, WOW! I'm in California too! But I'm near the top of the state and you near the bottom.👋👍
My mom & I have watched all your videos! We are in Huntington Beach, Orange County (Prefecture), south of Los Angeles. We are curious about what you are planning to see here! 😃
⚾ Ohtani, I imagine! 😎✌️
Y'know, one of these days STJ is going to encounter a dish SO GOOD, he is going to have to resort to !!!. Thank you for another insight into the world of Japanese cuisine.
happy too see you so excited by this flight - ty STJ
Oh, that curry! My Mouth is watering. I'm more than a bit jealous.
This is truly one of the best videos I’ve seen in a long time, and it was sweet that you were excited and nervous when the champagne came. Your style is fantastic.
Buddy, I am SO happy you got to have your dream Curry. I live vicareously through you, mate!
I was not prepared for how much food there would be in this video!
I'm at 3:01 are you sure your not at an abandoned airport? It sure looks empty of people, LOL. I paused at 6:20, had to get some water and when I came back and saw the picture of the beef curry, I thought this. If the dish was as big as the picture, you would be in heaven!
The plane sound is noisy, I wouldn't be able to sleep.
That seat is nicer than my apartment.
Bro, hope they sponsored this for you. Way to go STJ.
Very nice flight 😊 thanks for letting us join you!
Loving the suite. When I eventually get to Japan from England I plan to be in business 😀
I once did coach, middle seat, from Chicago to Seoul. Had breakfast twice while on the flight. Sure wish I could have afforded this level of luxury!
I love watching this video. Thanks. ❤
You flew right over my house. ☺
It's the sunflower of the skies!
Since it isn't in the video I'll just have to imagine it as the outro.
Sing with me: Sunflower, sunflooooweeeer
You, have earned yourself a trip overboard 💯 🙅🏼♀️
If you are in LA for the upcoming heavy rains, you might be amused by the local people react to them! Enjoy your stay in my home state and thank you for always interesting and well done videos.
There is NOTHING amusing about flooding. Floods take many lives every year. If you're over in that part of the country, take it seriously. Don't be one of those fools who laughs and drives into flooded streets. You might end up being carried out of the water and into a morgue like so many others.
Northern Californian here; no stranger to flooding, as are the Japanese. On the other hand I saw people in Orange County reacting to heavy rain like it was a bombing raid and was amused. @@lemidoe

You are gorgeous hun, love your videos!
My surprise was realising it was not snow but house roof's coming into LA.
Hope you had a fun adventure! I'm here with you in spirit 🙏
the part about saving time at security and there was no one in line was funny.
It looks like you had a comfortable flight with delicious food. I hope you enjoyed your visit to the US, and found some food to enjoy while you visited. Thanks for letting us tag along again.
Looks amazing! So happy you got this experience, you deserve it. Hope I get to enjoy it one day too 🙏🥂
Dang, JAL is spoiling you with all the curry options!
The seat looks so cozy and the food so delicious! 🤗👍

I see you like aeronautics too by your reference to the V1 and positive rate☺
Welcome to the U.S. my friend -I hope you have a wonderful time while you are here. I'm looking forward to contrasting the two flights 🙂.
Thank you for another exciting and new experience. I love going on these trips with you.

One day.....Glad you enjoyed it!
This is coming out on the heels of my flight back to Albany, NY from Tampa, FL.
coming into LA, during a massive weather event. if you made it to lax that is.
Very nice. Thank you. (We all know what "!!" means... Excellent!)
Great flight and thanks for sharing!!!
So glad I am eating right now or else I would be jealous.
It certainly looked as though you had a lovely time coming to America -- even before you took off! Thanks for sharing this cool look into high-end JAL flight service. Everything you ordered looked so darned tasty!
Welcom to US 🎉🎉🎉
i'm going to los angeles too in 2024!
Flew to Japan a few times, best was a MAC flight, I basically slept in a PJ seat. It did have a toilet and kitchen.
One time I arrived at Yokota, and the Japanese airline took my toolbag and shrinkwrapped it. That brief flight from Yokota to Misawa was the best part. The stewards provided a full meal and took care of the whole flight. I arrived in Misawa ready to work.
I cannot remember what airline it was, but as an aircraft mechanic with almost 40 years of experience, the U.S. airlines could learn from them.
Nice video! I wonder about your adventure in L.A., however I prefer your Kyushu cruises more.
Welcome to my home! I hope the trip is enjoyable!!! Be sure to eat many tacos and other Mexican cuisine!!
Not your hand shaking 😄...that was so cute 😊🥰🥰
yikes - some bad timing going to Southern California with a hurricane bearing down on it! sorry man! thx for the vid though!
I absolutely love your videos. I hope you had a good time in Los Angeles.
Should you find your way to Denver Id be happy to show you the sights. Enjoy your time in LA

Nice trip Thanks for taking us along Solo Chan. God Bless and Be safe in La.
Welcome to the USA 🎉 look forward to your videos here!
Loooved this episode!! The food looked awesome!
Very lovely experience. ❤
That's one of your best videos yet.
You must be a young man having such a big appetite you cleaned all your dinner plates wc is good as it was a long flight. I'm from the Philippines 🇵🇭 you chose escabeche which our version is sweet sour fish which i love
I’m glad you had a nice flight. Hopefully my city treated you well and that you got to do something fun while you were here!
Welcome to America! Enjoy your time here ❤ what a great flight ✈️ and video
Enjoy your time in America! Can't wait for the return video! Guess you can be called Solo Travel USA! 🤣😂🏈
Great review especially showing the awesome food. I prefer the sky suite to the reverse herring bone seat as it's so private and you can see out of the window without stretching.
This is so cool!!! Thank you so much for sharing and letting me get to experience something I probably won't actually have a chance to IRL! I appreciate your videos very much. :)
Amazing my friend be safe and have fun for me much love
Wow LAX your a celebrity now😊 glad you left japan a bit see the world. Will always support❤. My mind is still on that wagu curry you didn't eat im really hungry now😂 Thanks for the video love it
i gasped when you said no to curry!! I hope you have a positive and fun experience in America!
Swordfish looked tasty 😋
Hope your trip was well in advance of the hurricane that blew through southern California! That seat looked quite comfortable.
apex suites are one of the best business class seats
What brings you to the US, Solo San?
Yes!!!!
awww!
nice🎉!
Solo San travelling to America to finalise the opening of his first Curry Resturant😂
Would've loved to see your food adventures in LA.
We flew SFO to Bangkok on JAL business a few months ago. The flights from SFO to HND were on the flagship 777 with this 2-3-2 product. To and from BKK was a 1-2-1 business class product. I felt the 2-3-2 product was a lot better for sleeping. The 1-2-1 configuration had a strange angle for the footwell and at 6’2” tall with size 12 feet, the footwell also seemed too small.
Service on all flights was impeccable, as always. My only complaint, if you call it that, was about the lounges. At SFO, the lounge is pretty disgraceful, but that’s pretty much true of all SFO lounges, except United Polaris. None of the others hold a candle to lounges in Asian airports. I was also disappointed that the lounge at HND was changed. What was the Sakura Lounge became the First Class Lounge and a new Sakura Lounge opened a little down from the original. The old Sakura Lounge was much more comfortable.
But it’s always great flying either JAL or ANA. Both are superb airlines.
2-3-2 layout is extremely tight and clustering comparing to Emirates or Qatar Air Business class...
May I ask what kind of camera you use to shoot your videos ? Love your work! 😀👍
you are a baller! i wouldn't want to get off the plane
JAL first class is my favorite to fly. It makes American Airlines first class feel like an economy seat😭 I’ll be flying to haneda next month in sky suite from Chicago and am very excited.
This is business class, different from your fake american domestic 'first class' lol
Greetings from Romania! ❤
Nice welcome to LAX STJ!!! Where you heading off to in USA? Doom Touring perhaps that is LA County LOL.
Solo Travel…America?!?!
You just reminded me that I have some ice cream in the freezer :P
