By default Telnet ports are close in Dahua latest DVR. you can not connect. first you need to go to DVR network Settings and check the 23 Port.

Username: 888888. Password: 888888. (administrator, local only)
Username: default. Password: default (hidden user). Hidden user “default” is for
system interior use only and can not be deleted. When there is no login user, hidden
user “default” automatically login. You can set some rights such as monitor for this
user so that you can view some channel view without login.

Each DVR has different way to reset admin password, you can not use this process for all DVR.

i lost my admin password for my Dahua device model no: DH-HCVR4104HS-S2.
now iam trying to factory reset. but no luck. saw your video trying to follow your steps, when i opened telnet and typed the IP address it shows connection failed.
but when i tried to paste the same IP address on the IE it opens .
suggest me what could be the problem.

DVR works on Linux based Firmware... have to login with direct Telnet or Putty tool to change settings in os. please check you must login into telnet CMD or Putty as a Administrator Account try again and reply

CP PLUS DVR PASSWORD RESET follow these steps:1st call to CPPLUS Custore Care : 18001035666.When you dial CPPLUS DVR Customer care number then you received 2 options.Press 1 for CPPLUSPress 2 for DahuaThen press 1 and talk with CP PLUS Customer care executive.Tell to customer care that you want ‘CP PLUS DVR Password reset’ and you want to default password.Then he/she give you email id.You want to give him DVR model number, DVR Seriel number with is mentioned back side of DVR and Live Date and Time which is shown on LED Monitor.These 3 information send by email which is given by CPPLUS Customer care executive.

Today i will show you 2 process of Dahua DVR password reset process...
1. TELNET
2. Calculation
lets start it
telnet command to access DVR from Port 23
open telnet
type "open IPaddressofDVR"
login username "admin"
older unit as root and vizxv pass. For newer units this account is not working, but you must use existing account, from admin group, and put "7ujMko0" front of the password. For example you have user nitin and pass 1234, you can log in as nitin and pass 7ujMko01234.
after # prompt on screen type "ls"
you will see mnt
now type "cd mnt"
then "ls"
then "mtd"
then "ls"
note:- ls to see directory only for confirmation - we are going into correct way
then "cd config"
not we have entered into deep config settings
now type "rm -rf group"(to remore all group)
now type "rm -rf password (to remove all password)
after this reboot DVR or Device to default password.
default username and password is admin/admin
