    Here comes a beautiful model airplane that will be built by a specialist. These will be videos rich in details, well worth watching.

    I’m Looking forward to this build. I have one of these in my collection as well. I remember when this kit came out. They were showing it off at a local rc airshow.

      It’s an awesome plane. I just need to overcome a hurtle I encountered while preparing to build the wing. I discuss in the video. Shouldn’t be a big problem though. Maybe. 😂

    Frank, Please! I enjoy the dialogue. I can learn a lot. Then the music kicks in and wakes the neighbors. Can we pull it back a little please?
    Thanks.

    I don't think we get ocd. I think we just get better at building and want a better product. I spent the better part of the day fabricating spars out for my new scratch build today. I got a very nice fit and everything lined up. You must have gotten a Friday afternoon kit! I didn't have any of the problems when i built my 1st gen kit. Mike c

      Well, mine is the second gen with some laser cut parts. The die cut tail pieces were too far off for my liking. Some of the parts in this kit are stamped, “Made in Italy”. Ever see that in a Goldberg kit before?

    Great detailed video! Learning lots from your videos, was just wondering if you had a part number or proper name to that tee pin applicator/helper tool ? Those tee pins definitely hurts the thumbs after awhile lol

      Thanks. That T-pin pusher inner is made by great planes. They’re discontinued. Might try eBay.

    I sure hope you're going to stuff a saito 180 in this :) I had no idea staples would do plans. Thank you

    • @FranksModelAviationWorkshop
      @FranksModelAviationWorkshop  Před měsícem +1

      I’m using a DLE 20RA in my Sukhoi. Staples prices are pretty good too for making big copies.

      @FranksModelAviationWorkshop I don't blame you for going gas. Back in the day everyone was stuffing saitos in. I thought maybe you had one in the shop:) I will definitely keep the copies in mind. Even as careful as I was I still managed to ruin originals

    Hi Carl
    In previous videos in the Ultimate build series, I noticed that you already built an F4U Corsair.
    I assume you still have the plans for this plane.
    Is there any way you could share them with me in pdf format?
    Congratulations on your videos, your work is excellent and very detailed, you explain the steps to follow very clearly.
    Thanks, and best regards.

    I have a gen 1, waiting to see how the gen 2 gear is built :) Anyone have a gen 2 they won't be building?

    • @FranksModelAviationWorkshop
      @FranksModelAviationWorkshop  Před měsícem +1

      It’s gonna be a while for that. The wing build will be around four episodes I believe. I just started it.

    • @thercbarn5001
      @thercbarn5001 Před měsícem +1

      The only difference between gen 1 and gen 2 is the gear placement. I beefed up the area in front of the wing for the landing gear. If I remember I used 1/4 inch 6 ply with 1/2 inch tri stock. My gen 1 is 10 years old and is never given me problems. Hope this helps. Mike

    • @FranksModelAviationWorkshop
      @FranksModelAviationWorkshop  Před měsícem +1

      @thercbarn5001 yeah, I don’t see an issue with where the gear are installed. If you know how to land, it doesn’t matter. This gen two kit was available for a decent price, so I had to snag it up. Thanks for the info.

    • @thercbarn5001
      @thercbarn5001 Před měsícem +1

      @@FranksModelAviationWorkshop the biggest issue with the landing gear in the wing was if it broke during a bad or rough landing is it would damage the spar.

  • @jamescattanach1129
    @jamescattanach1129 Před měsícem +2

    Not sure why you didn't contact the supplier of the model and complain about missing and broken parts and have them either supply replacement parts or replace the model? It shouldn't be down to you to find the money to fix problems with a kit? Confused

    • @FranksModelAviationWorkshop
      @FranksModelAviationWorkshop  Před měsícem +1

      The main reason I didn’t do that, is because Carl Goldberg Models hasn’t existed in decades. There’s nobody to complain to. When you buy discontinued vintage kits, it’s a given risk you take that the kit might have missing, or broken parts. No big deal really. I’ve been building these kits forever. 👍

      @jamescattanach1129 Před měsícem +1

      @@FranksModelAviationWorkshop That makes sense, I hadn't viewed as far as the point in the video where you made that point before I commented. Thank you for taking the time to explain.
      If you are looking for the perfect kit I can highly recommend valueplanes, they are very expensive but superb quality , I particularly like their miles hawk major kit, it's 1irst class
