Old videos always straight to the point. No annoying ads or sponsors and pointless talking.. Thank you!
Real. Thank u!
My whole life was a lie. Thank you, very useful video
Branko Krsmanovic ya it was. Especially if you needed a video for this
@@hyssean12 Well I guess, you watched it too
How much slower is though
@@prasuntiwari4291 What if it was on his recommended?
Same like me,after watch this video now i realised i made a mistake before
thank you it's been like 7 hours of me trying to get my watch out
Thanks you, I stopped wearing watches for 3 years, but all my previous ones straps would always break... So after buying a new watch yesterday, I thought I would look up a better way of taking the watch off and putting it on.
Great advice. Applies to leather belts with buckles as well!
That's what I came here to comment
Even after 10 years, it's still helpful 👍
OMG! And I got 'A's in High School and they NEVER taught me this. In my second life I want you as my teacher. This was the Bomb!
It's the simple things that can make a huge difference. Thank you for taking the time to make this video!
THANK YOU - I spent 45 minutes looking around online until I found this - EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR!!!
Thank you so much. You are the type of watch expert that every watch-wearer needs
so simple but so effective....thanks for sharing :)
Thanks so much for making a video on a thing I was afraid to ask!
Firecrafter209 No problem!
thanks feller this was a great tip. my severe autism and lack of a father figure really got in the way of my desired watch-wearing life style.
My hand was litterslly stuck for so long and this guy has just helped me take it of
I have many thick leather straps like that for several of my 30 watches. I have changed all of the buckles to ones that have a little curve to them so they lay flatter. I use your method to put on and take off my watches. Thanks for the video.
Simple and geinus video ! I used to bend the leather like you're demonstration of the wrong way, now i don't have to damage my leather strap everytime i get it off. huge thanks.
Cool. Awesome video. Im obsessed with watches. Needed this bit of knowledge
Very helpful, took me a second to realize i could've been taking off my watch easily, really helped thanks
This is a life changing advice. Thanks for the video
Useful, short and sweet. Thanks for saving the leather man!
Dafuq.. that huge buckle & super thick strap consumes ur whole wrist.. So uncomfortable to look at.
Hi, it takes some getting used to and not great for typing! It started with Panerai straps, which this one was actually made for) and since the cases are wide and thick it is more proportionate.
I'm feeling lucky, punk Came here to say the same thing! Man that looks uncomfortable
Thank's for the tip! Great video
Holy shit!! You make my life so easy!! It was so hard especially when the leather is fresh from the oven. So tight and hard to wear it
Can you do one for how to wear it without chipping
Good tip. The bending to feed the strap into the fixed keeper will still cause some strain; i wonder if this suggestion plus free (or floating) keepers will totally cancel the problem without the need for a deployant clasp.
I guess you're right, but the fixed keeper is usually sewed in close to the buckle bar - at least the loop you have to make to insert the strap into it is not nearly so reflex as the "bad way" to insert the prong.
Yep, but the wear is relatively minimal so there's nothing to worry about. All of my straps have lasted 6 year with no obvious signs of damage.
absolute legend my grandpas watch got stuck on my wrist and the leather was super old and crunchy so it was much more difficult to remove it with the normal method
This is what I do too: for both my straps and belts. This is why other people's straps last 1-2 years and mine has last almost indefinitely. Always slide, never bend.
Breau that was awesome man. Why nobody ever told me this, omg
I really appreciate your help, you saved me a lot of time!
thanks for this. i just bought a watch and i was thinking how to preserve the leather strap and saw this
This helped me so much thanks for the video🔥
Should have watched this before I did the 1st two take off. Thanks for the tips!
Thanks so much I was actually searching for this typed video because my watch was stuck and you saved it thank you
You're welcome! Glad you found it useful. All the best, The StrapSmith
I knew there had to be a better way. Thanks a ton!
My pleasure! Thanks for watching.
Great tip, always did it the wrong way, now I know how to preservar the watch strap. si kind from You to share us the tip , best regards. by the way I subscribed.
That’s some seriously thick strap!
Very helpful thanks. Nice video
I do the exact things I shouldn't! Thank you for the video.
Bought a new watch today. I'm sure this tip will extend the strap's life
You still have it?
@TheStrapSmith would you kindly advise on how to care for a calfskin leather strap / what best to use in order to get it preserved, but in the same time not making it darken up or get a shinny fininish (it’s a light brown/yellowish colour and I’d like to keep it that way)?
Thanks for the buckle tip - I was doing it exactly as I shouldn’t 😄
Thank you sir for this help.
Thank you I really needed this hahah
thank you so much, my watch was so tight on my wrist my hand was literally turning blue.
Could you go into more detail about those particular watch straps? Are they custom or did they come with the watch. Either way they look fantastic, and this is a great tip.( feel a little dumb for not doing this already). thanks
How do you stop the keeper from moving
Thank you😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
The buckle on that strap is not made for that thick of leather. I bought a black and tan one similar to that and replaced the buckle with one that laid down on the leather when it was buckled. I do take my watch off like do suggest.
Thanks for this! If I had a son, I would teach him this!
Thank you very much, your video is very useful
That's great advice thanks,
My new leather strap is just a little tight. Can a good leather strap be stretched a bit? , Thanks Billy
How long would a leather strap last if you use it regularly? Like 5 years?
Thats it, thats the strap I want. I have been checking your site for that strap and I can't figure out which model it is? Also, can you make this strap for a Rolex Submariner?
Thank you so much this is exactly what I was searching for
Thank you, it's 1am and my hand is finally free
Thank you so much it was simple and very useful video
Hi, the watch in the video is a Helson Shark Diver.
Thanks!
Cheers

I actually learned something, thank you
Wow. Thank you so much for this tip.
I'd like a strap exactly as in the video. Which model strap?
Should I apply mink oil to my leather band to keep it supple?
What’s the name of this strap? I need it
Lol at that buckle looks goofy way to thick. I use a sam brown button stud for my straps eliminates any wear points.
Has anyone else discovered that the ‘spring bars’ that are fitted as standard to their watch are not actually spring bars? Just been trying to change my watch strap and I’ve been to hell and back in the last 2 hours.. My £1.25 special tool from China was useless.. I’ve had to get the mole grips.. There’s an axe in the garage somewhere..
good advice
Thanks Zulfi!
Hi , i have a watch with a crocodile or alligator strap. My wrist size seems to be in between two of the holes. Is there a way to stretch the strap gently so that watch fits nicely. Thank you
Hi, often times, depending on the manufacturer, they can use an insert that resists stretching but you can try putting the strap on the hole that is tight and pushing it down over a bottle that tapers, Let it sit for a day and then flip it so the other side is down and put it back on the bottle. Start with only a small amount of pressure and progress as needed. Hope that helps.
@@Thestrapsmith Thanks for this. The watch is Breitling for Bentley. Should I be soaking the strap in water first?
Thanks! Great tip!
@c4thgolf
Hi, it is the Helson Shark Diver. Thanks for watching.
Cheers
Brother can you send me same colour leather strep just like you wearing....and same watch lock....

Thanks for this!!
It was stuck for 3 years and finally it’s off
Thank you very much for the tip man!
THE most overkilled strap I have ever seen
Just perfect for INVICTA x-P
Does anyone know how to get rid of creases
Wow great info
Thanks a lot great video
Thank you. Glad you found it helpful. Cheers, The StrapSmith.
What a great video thank you
Thank you for your help🙏
Thank you so much.
Thank you for the tip!
thanks, awesome tips
You have a saddle around your wrist man. Not to mention the huge cowboy belt buckle sized buckle. Not even a panerai would look good with that strap.
Very helpful thanks so much
No problem. Thanks Stephen!
Thanks for the tip 👍
Yay! I've been doing it right!
Helps when you have a 30mm strap and a 10mm tang lol. Wow that’s a massive strap! Good tip though 👍🏻
Pin bucke should be avoided, it ruins the strap easily, fold clasp deployant is the best option
I can't believe that so many people haven't been doing this, and that you had to make a video to show them.......
Anyway, well done. If you could make a video to teach Americans how to use a knife and fork too, that would be great.
But you still have a crease on your band. That buckle is pretty bad, and the leather is very thick.
Huh, good stuff
Fam. Thank you. Cuz I was like how do I get this off of me without breaking something? hahaha
Thx now I can take off my watch
Hey what type of strap is that? Make? Brand? Color? Size?
Thanks
+Matt .B it's a french ammo pouch strap. The own shown is a 25mm wide that is inserted into 24mm. Thanks. You can always email me at support@thestrapsmtih.com
very very helpful!
Good tips

What watch do you have?
That watch strap is thiccc, very nice strap
Nice tip..
That watch strap buckle looks ridiculous 😂
