I hope I help some Canon R5 and R6 shooters with my tip. It was driving me crazy when I could not install the firmware update. The process stopped at the point where the option was OK or cancel. I could not move off of cancel because I was trying to use the touch screen to go to OK. You have to use the dial knob at the top of the camera to move to OK.
Don't feel bad...did the same thing at first. Gotta use the dial on the camera. All good now!

Can you delete the files from the sd card once the update is completed or do they need to remain on the card for the camera to work normally?
you can delete them once the update is complete!
