Happy birthday man. That’s looks like Carolina Horsenettle. Unfortunately round up will put a hurting on it but will never fully kill it. Roots are super deep and they thrive on hot bare ground. It’s a problem in my sunflowers. 24D or Dicambia will usually take care of it. Pre emergent wise I’ve used Ziuda and it controls it pretty well, but honestly it will trickle back just not as bad.

@@Yellowlab247_NC_Outdoors dicamba is like 24d it can be used as a post on corn since it’s a grass plant (but be careful). For sunflowers it would kill it, so use it prior to planting. Don’t plant sunflowers with dicamba until after 14 days and rain.
That Horsenettle is tough to control even when you don't have crops you are trying to protect. Roundup at normal safe mix rates will only injure/set it back a little bit unfortunately.
I’ve got horsenettle bad in my also. I’ve tried different stuff by nothing kills It for good. I read where gunslinger kills It tho, I’m planning on doing that after my field is finished for the year

I just couldnt do it! Didnt need to either, got pretty good coverage
Dont forget you can spray prowl over rr corn up to 30in tall really helps getting that second pass of pre emerge

Dicamba will take care of any of the broadleaf problems.

Dang, I wondered! Maye a crop rotation and really hammer it one year might work.
