“The only reason why he is an elegant maniac is because he has a bird that is a complete psychotic” . I choked on my drink hearing that.......😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Jafar: I will be the Sultan
Iago: And I will be the Sultan’s bird
@@jacobmalic5037 actually in sequel Iago hopes to become grand vizier & later sultan
Jafar was always my favorite Disney villain as a kid. He's so elegantly evil, and he's not trying to get revenge for something wrong that happened to him in the past-no, he just wants power.
He’s is certainly trying to get revenge! He was legally to become Sultan, he worked hard, came from humble roots and some liar and thief stole it from him. Moreover, the Sultan was too incompetent to see it. Jafar is technically, justified.
Mine too
@@greenlion6544 He would not become Sultan if the princess marries
@@greenlion6544 Say what?!
Elegant man. What a voice.
Jonathan's Jafar >>>>>>> 2019 Live action Jafar
Not even comparable!
By farrrrrr
Not even close
I actually loved the Live action Aladdin. But I TOTALLY agree with you. I give props for the actor in the live action for his own take, but I still prefer the original Jafar. He was much more memorable and iconic!
He was the worst part of the live action remake, which I absolutely loved despite that major flaw. Jafar just isn't Jafar without that amazing rich voice!
His voice is the reason i had a sick crush on jafar 🖤💀
Same 💀
I’M NOT ALONE ON THIS??? I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE 💀
"I love the way your foul little mind works"
Scar and Jafar, two of the greatest villains in not only Disney, but set the bar for ALL antagonists in any story!
And sadly these two villains have been badly butchered beyond belief in their respective live-action remakes
he says his secret is Gilbert? That is actually so humble, wow.
When the elephant bursts in the door it kills me every single time. 😂😂😂
Prince ALIIII
Jafar is my second favorite villain (Scar is the first), I've always loved intelligent villains. Jonathan adds so much to his character, he's an incredible actor. His voice is so hot.
Drowfan scar and jafar are pretty similar. They both wanted to become king/sultan for the power. They are also both manipulative
g jascar lol
They are my favourite too. Although they are equal I couldn’t pick one as a first.
@Jason Frazier You're friends with him?! Wow, that's amazing! 😁
@Jason Frazier So I've heard. It sounds like he's not like Jafar at all!
He reprised jafar in the Broadway show
Joshua Orro cool.
Yeah then why not come back in the live action remake of Disney's aladdin
@@DTBootlegs or maybe we blame the producers for not doing it
I saw him and it was fantastic
@@RavenDash01 lucky you
This man is so sophisticated. I love the way he talks, and that has so many interesting things to say. I enjoyed his take on why some kids like villains, and also hearing him describe his interest in the aesthetic of the throne room and palace scenes. I remember being drawn to those scenes/settings in particular as a kid; I loved to stare at all of the details in them.
Yes
Did you know about Sara Ruth Ashcroft and what she says about this “sophisticated man “? You should look into it.
@@humanbeingshaverightsgarne144You can't believe everything people say
His voice is so much deeper than i remember.
Jafar is my favourite Disney Villain out of them all.
My favourite is Frollo but Jafar's a good one too
Jordan McMahon Scar is mine😊
mine is Clayton from the Disney version of Tarzan for his ruthlessness
Ok
From what i heard and or read, out of all of Gilbert Gottfried's past co-stars, Jonathan was one of the many that was heartbroken the most when he found out that Gilbert had passed away.
Yup And Jonathan and Gilbert Were So Good Together Voicing Jafar and Iago Big Time!

He comes across as a modern elegant, refined and sophisticated aristocrat without any of the pretentiousness usually associated with such people. Seems like a very cool guy. 😊
Freeman or Jafar?
My favorite villain.. he did an amazing job! Always give me the creeps
Libra ad same here.
I'm gushing over his voice 😍😍😍
Ikr. I am all about that bass✨
Without a doubt, one of the greatest voice acting jobs I have seen. Pairing him with Gilbert Gottfried was beyond genius.
Oh and one more thing: I can totally relate to what he says at 4:20-5:34! Villains are usually more complex, interesting and human than heroes. Especially the ones who are humorous as well.
Dude's got style
I think Dr.Facilier he does have some of Judge Frollo and Jafar in him. 🔥🃏🧞♂️❤🖤💜
As a kid I wanted to be Jaffar, loved everything about that character. He's definitely my favorite Disney Villain. Jonathan Freeman did an amazing job voicing him.
Seriously he did phenomenal come on he’s popular because of him!
"Prince aboubou"!
It's A-BA-BWA!
What ever
Same the best
Jafar was so smooth.
Jafar is to me one of the top tier Disney villains, along with Maleficent, Hades and Scar.
Anybody else have a crush on Jafar? No just me 😬 ok...
Me ❤️
i watched Aladdin live and this guy was the guy playing Jafar, it was so good
Liar
He will always be Jafar to me
Freeman brought up how villains appeal to some kids. That describes young me to a T. Jafar's the main reason I love the Aladdin film series. I remember being upset that Jafar didn't return in the King of the Thieves. At least Genie mentions him. I later grew fond of Robin Williams's Genie performance, but Jafar is who made me watch Aladdin and the Return of Jafar over and over again.
This man sounds just like Jafar from Aladdin.
You are and will always be the BEST Disney villain of all time. Still a fan to this day ❤️😊!
Kevin Casey me too.
The saddest thing about all these cast members revisiting Aladdin is that Robin Williams isn’t able to talk about being the genie
My thoughts exactly. I’m sure he’d be happy to talk about his role as the Genie.
😢
And now Gilbert.
#rip sweet Iago.
And Hixson too. Even more so
jafar was always my fav idk i just like his personality and the voice oof 😂
still am having sick crush on him and his voice
Such a pity that I hear he reprised his role in the musical and not the remake.
He may have saved that movie.
Jafar villain song is one of the best Disney villain song, too bad it didn't show in the live action.
Anyone here from the Season 2 premiere is f Helluvaboss?
What's that?
Jafar and Cruella will always be my favorite villans
Family guy: Jafar needs glasses 🤣
Does anyone else think when Johnathon Freeman is talking in his normal voice he sounds like a deeper version of Robin Williams when Robin Williams was speaking in his natural voice?
That actually makes sense! Yes I agree
4:28 That’s always been me haha I just always loved the villains so much more than the heroes. Also, to think this man was the same one who produced Jafara psychotic laugh at the end of Prince Ali reprise, wow!

I just rewatched this movie and I still absolutely love Aladdin. It was my favourite movie as a kid. I watched it so many times on VHS the tape broke lol.
Jafars voice was super cool. My favorite line for some reason is iago imitating him. "On a scale of 1-10 YOU are an eleven"
That voice though 😃😃😃
Jafar is one of my favorite villians
What I Love from Joathan is the concetion with Gibert. They always me laugh
I loved when he talked about the palace scenes having such a wide, open scale. While that's true, it's an interesting contrast to how Jasmine says she feels trapped in them. (4/27/2022)
My favorite part of Disney World is when the villians come out togetjer at Cinderella's castle. Growing up I loved Ursula and the Evil Queen from snow White. The Queen was always so beautiful to me.

What a great villainous voice !!
Jonathan Freeman is One of My Favorite Disney Voice Actors and He’s Perfect For The Role of Jafar!
I saw you at the Aladdin the musical in the summer of 2018. You were amazing and always will be amazing
Mr Jonathan Freeman , wow your really the voice of Jaffar my ultimate favourite villian in Aladdin
I saw Jafar at Disneyland in costume and i was so excited we got to take a picture with him!!!
1:30 I love that look on iago face it’s so funny
VILLAINS HAVE MORE FUN, THAT'S WAY WE LOVE THEM!
I am 36. Jafar was the first character I've been impressed by and I immiedately admired him when I was 6. 30 years ago. I was the only kid of my village loving him. Everybody found me weird to love him. I was not in love but I had a huge admiration and affection for him and I still do today. I think Jonathan Freeman is definetely right when he says kids love vilains not because they are bad but because they are marginalised. When you are yourself rejected et marginalised, you can love vilains characters. It was my case. I definetely love Jafar until the very end. He's part of my childhood and life as well. I'm glad to see that Jonathan Freeman has kept a special bound and affection to this character.
Jafar would have deserved to be the Sultan. Elegant, smart, clever and immense.
This is so wholesome. I love it.
I swear as a kid Jafar was my fave villain. I always wanted his snake stick growing even now I do
Haha, Jafar’s still calm in the Return Of Jafar without Iago
Not quite. He has a hair trigger on his temper in that.
DatDumbDude true. “Street Rat Still Alive?! NO!” That line was hilarious
@@Esgles Plus his constant abusing of his "master".
He was talking about the characters inception from an actors perspective. The parrots voice gave him licence to create a slower tempo and a softer timbre. He’s not talking about the character being calm because of Iano but of the way it works in the construction
@@bigred8432 Ik. I was just responding to them.
Jonathan Freeman your performance was\is Stellar.
So nice to see the actor of one of my favorite Disney villains as a kid. He still has the iconic voice!
My question is ... how these cast director found these perfect voices for the characters? How??
Mar Mar back when they actually did their job
2:20 still puts a smile on my face.
"Perhaps I can divine a solution to this...thorny problem". Epic.
So much better than the live action nonsense...
They're ruining these franchises.
The live-action Jafar was terrible. Pathetic.
Agreed disney doesn't know how to cast anymore
ah yes because this is an animated broadway show...
I know right.
One of my favorites!
Jonathan is awesome!
Now that we have this interview can we also get Gilbert (who is the exact opposite from this elegant man) to do one?
Jafar is my favorite Disney villain sinced childhood.
One of my favorite movies!
He is absoulutly an incredible actor so talented
How does Jonathan feel about Marwan Kenzari's Jafar?
"It's mine, it's all mine!"
This man is positively, old-style brilliant.
“Ecstatic”
I think it's time to say goodbye to Prince Abooboo 😃
Aladdin hung around because-
The story is great
The illustrations were great
The voice acting/comedy
Wow, that is a Darth Vader voice
I can't decide which Disney villain I love more Jafar or Scar
Ben Munn they’re basically the same lol
Let me guess:
Scar wanted to have Nala to be his queen same Jafar wanting Jasmine to be his queen. Scar ruled the Pride Lands for a certain amount of time while Jafar ruled Agrabah for a certain amount of time, @@user-gf9ef2wv1u
I was going to say they both wanted to become king/sultan for power and both were deceitful. They both have comedic sidekicks and deeper voices
I guess I was close, @@user-gf9ef2wv1u
What, @Bergr B
My friend and I developed the code “Jafar” to describe someone or something so otherworldly cool. I mean Jafar is a villain but he kind of a slick cool villain. So we would say “that’s so Jafar” or “you’re so Jafar”
That's so fetch
I fell in love with Jafar's words! Big words for a 8-9 year old. Still quote him and Scar now😂. Love this voice actor💞💐.
Wooooooow! Nice voice👏😲😲😲👏👏
Jafar is one of my favourite Disney villains. I dressed up as him for Halloween 2021 and I also met Jonathan Freeman at a comic con in Liverpool recently along with Jasmine’s voice actress Linda Larkin
Freeman's Jafar, then Starkid's Twisted Jafar. Then, way down, remake 2019 Jafar.
Kinda hitting the nail on the head with the wanting to be the bad guy as a kid growing up 😁😁😁

This was so fun to watch considering I’m putting on Jafar for my community theatre right now and I need the inside details😂
Yes Mr Jafar, we hear you.
