@Mrlovebitten. I'm with you on that one, dude. I've said it before elsewhere, and I'm going to say it again, but Japan is a bottomless pit of musical talent and creativity that leaves its western counterparts in the dust.✌️❤️🤘

HELL YES! thank you JOHN!! great review. I love this band. so under-rated. I am so happy to finally hear someone else give KIMI (vocalist) positive energy! She has a unique and great voice, I love her vocals! you nailed it! every layer of this song is pure fire, I love it so much! I am dying to hear the entire album! cannot wait for it to drop next month! This is even better than I had hoped for, I've loved each of their albums more and more. So if this is a sample of what's to come it's gonna top Aegis of Athena for me which I played the F out of and still do lol. This song goes right to the top of my favs from them, so good. relentless. there is no letting up anywhere in this song, I LOVE THAT!

I’m not sure why Bridear remains under the radar more than other J-metal bands…maybe it’s that they hail from Fukuoka instead of a major hub like Tokyo, maybe its line-up changes over the years…it doesn’t matter. This band remains a force to be reckoned with, and Natsumi (drums) is an absolute wrecking machine. 🤘🇯🇵🔥🍻

BRIDEAR are always amazing, but the mixing of this song (and their upcoming album that will be released in June) really brings out and accentuates all the awesomeness of each member. 'BRAVE NEW WORLD REVISITED' should be their next song for you to react to. Thanks, John!

They recorded this album here in Sweden. I think the studio did the master as well. Drums on the video is borrowed from a friend of hers. Another japanese artist that also recorded her latest album in the same studio is Isiliel. She is more of "mystic metal". She is an one man idol but in september she will play with a band in Norway. You should check Isiliel out!

Japanese metal is on an incredible roll, especially the women, who are kicking ass on an epic scale. Bridear are among the pioneers and are clearly bidding for a spot in the top tier of bands. Founded in 2011, they are one of the second wave of all-female heavy-metal bands. They have undergone a few lineup changes, but generally go hard and heavy. They have the quintessential twin-lead attack and technical rhythm section. Here is the original lineup:
    Kimi-Vocals
    Haru-Bass, growls
    Misa-Guitars, growls
    Mitsuru-Guitars (pink flying V)
    Kai-Drums
In 2019, Kai left to start a family, Misa left to pursue her own musical vision, Mitsuru soon followed, and they had to bebuild. Amazingly, they did so without any loss in quality, finding Misaki and Ayumi on Guitar, and Natsumi, formerly of Telecide, to take over on drums (after a brief trial with another drummer).
    Second Lineup:
    Kimi-vocals
    Haru-bass, growls/metal vocals
    Misaki-Guitar, audience left
    Ayumi-Guitar, audience right
    Natsumi-Drums
I saw them live in London just after this lineup came together, and they were explosive, playing mostly stuff from the original lineup. They have experimented with a variety of styles, dabbling in progressive and pop, but they still come back to their metal roots. In “Brave New World Revisited” (czcams.com/video/_6-OXcyMkYI/video.html) they’ve got a masterpiece. It’s also a tour-de-force for their brilliant young guitarist Ayumi, who has also taken on a lot of the writing for the band.
In early 2022, Misaki, who suffers from severe stage fright, left the band for health reasons, and they scrambled to find a new co-lead guitarist. They have been joined by Moe, and their first release with her on board showcases some great dual shredding between her and Ayumi.
    From the original lineup:
    “Light in the Dark” czcams.com/video/CN3KDIBdosQ/video.html
    “Ignite” czcams.com/video/LQIDqudG_DQ/video.html
    Second Lineup:
    “Starlight” czcams.com/video/4lq90GqRxiE/video.html
    “Bloody Bride” czcams.com/video/CN3KDIBdosQ/video.html
    “Brave New World Revisited” czcams.com/video/_6-OXcyMkYI/video.html
    Third Lineup:
    “Road” czcams.com/video/vcsUpWW0UZk/video.html
    “Eyes of Doubt” czcams.com/video/_oNn9Wg-vNQ/video.html
(This was written by new member Moe.)
They have wrapped the recording sessions for their new album. It is scheduled for release on June 28. I’ve heard the whole thing and it’s a banger.

Totally agreed on the end of the chorus, and I love the harmony that goes lower at the same time. To your question on that, I'm pretty sure it's just Kimi harmonizing with herself in this case; live, they could use that as a backing track or Ayumi (stage left guitarist) could sing that part. The latter has a really nice voice in her own right.
Don't know what other song you had checked out, but I suggest Ghoul for similar awesomeness in tone, drumming, and a headbanging outro.🤘

Saw them live in 2021 - they were the only japanese band touring in Europe during covid, so I'll never thank them enough. They are really good live, and Kimi has that great stage presence and charisma. Haru really growl like that live! I'd love to see them again, the Ayumi/Moe pair is wonderfull. And Natsumi is not only a great and strong durmmer, she's extremely funny to follow on X.

  • @ronnimetalpicodeathchamato6266

    I love BRIDEAR!
They have only been around for a little longer than BAND-MAID (so 11-plus years)...
The whole female Japanese scene started a long time ago with SHONEN KNIFE and SHOW-YA, but really took off years later (around 2004 or so) with bands like Space Time Pirates SEVEN SEAS, ALDIOUS, GACHARIC SPIN, and DESTROSE (which spawned LOVEBITES, NEMOPHILA, FATE GEAR, MARDELAS, DISQUALIA, LONESOME BLUE, MARY'S BLOOD, and several others) and there are new all female Japanese bands coming out every day!

And well of course i put links but i recently checked out a video because after i logged out of my account and noticed my comments disappeared. I checked out a video and it says the reason is Videos can be filtered out if they contain things like emojis or LINKS. So i'm wondering how do we suggest things to you if we can't post LINKS? It seems comments with links will go to the filter section and you will not see them.
