That is an awesome CNC setup (and today is my first time i get to know these).
Thanks for sharing!
Well this work of art got you a subscriber. You knocked both the video and the machine out of the park! I think I'm going to go for the OneFinity as well.
Just ordered mine 10 minutes ago and I already know im doing half of these same upgrades :D Great video
Great video and excellent work on the modifications, nicely done! THANKS for sharing.
The onefinity engineers really thought out of the box and cameup with a very unique cnc.
Impressive setup. You seem to be a man of all trades. You have endless abilities.
Thanks for the compliments but I am standing on the shoulders of some very talented people that have taught me a lot!
Very nice set-up. I'm planning on ordering a Onefinity soon and I can't imagine a better cable system than what you've got.
Thanks. You will love your machine.
Subbed. Awesome build and thank you for the well thought out dialog.
Really awesome upgrades, great job!
Wow nice set up. I just saw the Onefinity machine today for the first time on Two Moose Design. This is the machine to get. I don't have one yet but I was also looking at the XXL till now.
Looks great! Hope I can come close to the cable management you have once mine arrives 😁
Wow! Your video is so clear, concise and informative! Thanks!
Well done! Think of a 2.2kw water cooled spindle... the icing on the cake!
really nice set up man! I got my on finite on the way, I'm going to have to take some of those ideas.
Nicely done - very clean and neat!
This is the best setup yet.... well done.
Thanks Gerald. I'm having fun now learning how to use this machine 😁.
Excellent video and details!!!
Thank you for making this. I'm more inclined to buy a OneFinity now.
Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it 😁
Classy work!... thanks for the rundown.
Liked & Subscribed.
That is just awesome!!!
You did a great job and I am envious!!
I will be using your ideas!
Thanks for sharing….
Thanks Dan. I am very new to this but it is all working so far 😆. Make sure you check out the changes I made (see the description).
great video content. On the fence with the OneInfinity and Shapeoko myself!
Excellent walkthrough - thank you
That looks so good.
Awesome work and thanks for the links!
I was about to order a Shapeoco Pro XXL then found this machine. After some research I ordered one yesterday(saving about $700 over the Shapeoco). Hoping to get it early May. Will be watching lots of videos like this in the mean time. Thanks for sharing.
Ordered mine yesterday & can’t wait to get it. Did you buy software yet? Curious what you went with.
@@mikegallagher782 Didn't buy anything yet. Got a free trial of Vcarve pro and Fusion 360. I like Vcarve better. Will probably start with Easel or Carbide Create then move to Vcarve once I learn more and want to up my game.
@Average American thanks. I was looking at the Vectric Desktop that onefinity sells but will try to get some free trials of others before buying
Awesome video! Thank you so much!
VERY NICE MACHINE SIR CONGRATS
im glad you posted all the connectors and sockets. WOuld you know what cable to purchase if i wanted much longer cables?
Sorry. I just saw this 😂😂. I just used regular wire off Amazon. I think it was 22 gauge. I may have mentioned it in the video.
Awesome video. Great tips!!!
Nice and clean. Great job.
Thanks. I made some changes to it and will put out the video for them soon.
That’s really impressive Dan thanks for sharing.
Thanks. I'm going to post a new one in a day or so with my new drawing adaptor.
@@MakerDan55 great, I’ll be sure to check it out. What software did you get for the onefinity machine?
No software came with it. I am using Carbide Create or Fusion 360 to make my gcode.
Would you have any software recommendations for someone like me that’s never used a cnc before? I won’t get my onefinity until late May so Im researching software for now.
I would start with Carbide Create. It is free and easy to learn. There are a lot of tutorials online for it.
Looks Great!
Very nice I want to order one I was hoping they come out with one four 4 X 4 sheet of plywood can fit
I just ordered my Onefinity today. I gotta say I am shocked the cables they provide are not long enough??? Huh? I would have expected the chains to be included. Regardless, you did a great job.
Dan - great video and improvements to an already great design. Kudos! Quick question, what is the size of your cnc table? I'm ordering an X50 woodworker and other tables I've seen are much larger than what I think I need.
Thank you. My table is 44" deep and 48" wide. I hope this helps. The drawer in the front is very helpful.
Thanks for your help with this.. I want to get started this week
This is awesome! Do you have links for the joystick holder? Great video and thanks for the links
Thanks. I found the holder on Thingiverse.
Awesome video!
Well done
Thanks Rick!
Most of the Thingiverse links do not work - but nice summary of upgrades to the machine, ordering from Digi-Key etc. to be ready for when mine is available for pickup. What wire gauge of wire did you use for the custom cables? I am ordering some braided mesh to keep the clean look as you have done.
Thanks.
Thanks Paul and sorry, I believe all the links should work now. Let me know otherwise! I used 18 gauge wire on mine since I already had it but if I had to do it over again I would go to 20.
Hello, great machine! If I get the drag chain setup , do I HAVE to rework the wires/cords? Or can I just put the control box closer to the front left corner?
You would have to make new cords as the wires in the drag chains need to be quite long (around 9-10' for the Z and power and 7-8' for the x axis). If you don't want to make your own cables you can buy extensions from the OneFinity site.
@@MakerDan55 thank you so much
Great video! What was your solution for the Z coil?
Thanks. I removed the Z coil and made my own cable that runs through the cable chain alongside the power cord.
@@MakerDan55 Would you be willing to give me some details? I’m a plumber, not an electrician though - so I need the dummy version. Lol. Thank you in advance!!
@@SJSSawdust Haha. Maybe watch this video first to get an idea if how I made my cables.
czcams.com/video/X7eG7uZhG84/video.html
Great video, are you able to provide a link for the Logitech controller shown in the video? Thanks.
Thanks, I bought mine on Facebook (new in box) but just saw this one from Staples (I'm in Canada)
www.staples.ca/products/419738-en-logitech-gamepad-f310?CID=PS:GS:CA:b:aud-811224544456:dsa-300508057819::77279064615::2085083665&CampaignID=2085083665&gclid=CjwKCAiA6aSABhApEiwA6Cbm_yL5g8mVIV1QRz9CbtUe7vSQ0qrJ5zW_TAEO0IzhJ2cYy-nHpZqoMRoCjTEQAvD_BwE
Very nice
Well done! Do you happen to sell the 3D printed upgrades?
Thanks. They are not my design so I can't sell them. Check the link in the description. The person who did the original design does sell them.
Hi great video
I am struggling to find the 3mm Molex connectors on Digikey
Is there any chance you could post the reference number for each part needed for the extension of the cables including crimp connectors
This would be a great help
I found their site very difficult to find the parts as well. I have updated the links but here is what I ordered in Canada:
4.20MM connectors: 0039039042 part# WM13116-ND
4.20MM crimp socket: 0430300001 part# WM1837CT-ND
3MM connectors: 0430250400 part# WM1784-ND
3MM crimp socket: 0039000038 part# WM2501CT-ND
@@MakerDan55 Thanks for the info,, much appreciated
I gave up on their website after spending hours looking
Did you use 18awg wire ?
I used 18 awg but would use 20 if I had to do it again.
hello, interesting machine, please tell me ... the guides at the machine are the shafts or chrome-plated pipes for the Linear bearing LM .... LUU?
I believe they are steel.
Great video! What size is your table top? Thanks
My table is 48" wide, 44" deep and 30" tall. It is also on 4 large nylon castors so I can move it around easily.
@@MakerDan55 Thanks for the quick reply! I think I will start off by exploring software and learning it before I jump into this cnc
Very nice setup. what table are you using?
In the description there is a video Ben Myers made building a similar table. I based it on that.
@@MakerDan55 I checked and link is only to the wasteboard. let me check his channel for the table build. Thank you
NICE
Great video. New subscriber here!☝️☝️☝️
Thanks so much 😁.
Very nice setup. Could you share the model# of the joystick controller please.
Thanks, it is model number Logitech Wireless Gamepad F710 but if this one works I am assuming most generic controllers would work?
Love the setup! It looks like the link for the monitor mount is broken. I'd love to check it out when you get a chance to fix the link. Thanks!
Thanks. I think the link is fixed now :)
@@MakerDan55 Link is currently broken for the monitor mount.

any luck and getting the links to the molex connectors? I have had a rough time finding the mini and micro molex connectors on amazon. Thanks
I'm not sure I understand you. Is the link to Digikey I posted not working? I could only find them at Digikey here in Canada.
Digikey has them...and a whole lot of other products which made it a little confusing.... I contacted them and they helped me out. I thought I could simply get them from Amazon.ca.
In your video i think you mentioned that you got the connectors through Amazon
I know you mentioned that you used ABS to print the parts, do you think PLA could be used instead of ABS? Thanks.
I think it would also work. Or better yet, PLA +.
@@MakerDan55 Printed in PLA at 50% infill, fells strong. What type and size of bolts did you use to mount it to the axis?
@@danielcorbett2701 I just used an assortment of metric and standard nuts and bolts I had. Not sure if the sizes. Just measure the openings and use whatever you have.
@@MakerDan55 Ok will do, what about the m5? I'm worries about using one too long since it is screwing right into the axis of the machine.
@@danielcorbett2701 Then maybe use a shorter one. No big deal.
If you were to buy it again would you get the controller that came with it or setup your own again.
If you are speaking about the joystick controller then I would say the one I have works very well. I've never used the "official" one.
Here I am 3 weeks after buying an X-carve wishing I went with the Onefinity.... dang.
Don't sweat it. You will create amazing things with the X-Carve.
any chance you could update the link for the Monitor Mount? Drag chain setup the thing i dont like about the drag chains. You have to replace the line that comes with the onefinity for the Z axis. I printed the parts but after running into that issue with the Z cable i did not put that on mine.
Sorry about that. I don't know why this link keeps breaking. I have updated it again.
www.thingiverse.com/thing:4732484
You can also search for OneFinity Monitor Mount on Thingiverse. Making the extension cables isn't too difficult. I thought it was intimidating at first but once I learned how to crimp the connectors and make my first set, it went really well. I noticed that OneFinity now sells extension cables on their site:
www.onefinitycnc.com/product-page/2-pack-cable-extensions-4-foot-long
@@MakerDan55 link already broke:( When you search for that it comes up empty i tried as well before.
That's so weird. When I try it from my end it works. Sorry, don't know what else to suggest aside from a different browser or searching for it on Thingiverse.
Did you use 20 awg stranded wire when you made your new harnesses?
I had a bunch of 18 awg so I used that but I think 20 awg would be better.
Awesome, thanks.
which model did you get woodworker or journeyman?
Woodworker 😁
Mine is coming in 2 weeks..been waiting over 3 mos..they are popular..but what does he mean the cables arent long enough?
If you haven't found the answer to this yet, the cables are only long enough to mount to the controller when it is mounted right next to the machine and if you don't use drag chains. If you use drag chains, or mount your controller in a different location, you will either need extensions, which Onefinity sells, or make your own like he did. If you can make your own, do that. Much cheaper and the less connections means less chance of a connection going bad.
Did you say you used ABS on the printed parts?
Yes. I used ABS. One of my printers is a CR10S in an enclosure.
Where are you selling those 3D printed parts?
I'm not selling them. They are available for free from the person who designed them. See the link in the description.
I just wish it had a bitsetter type thing to measure the bit.
It has a touch probe to zero X, Y and Z.
@@MakerDan55 That's not it. The "bitsetter" on the shapeoko automatically travels to a point and measures the new bit height. It just makes bit changes a lot easier and automatic. The only reason why I haven't bought the OneFinity just yet.
That monitor mount doesn't show up on Thingiverse after searching. Would you happen to have the file?
Thanks for letting me know. I deleted it from Thingiverse and re-uploaded it. Try it now and let me know if you have any problems locating it.
www.thingiverse.com/thing:4748730
@@MakerDan55 Link is 404 and it doesn't show up under search, or with just 'onefinity' as a search term. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Thingiverse is so frustrating to work with. Ok. Let's try another avenue. I uploaded it to my github site. Try this and let me know if it worked.
github.com/MakerDan55/CNC/blob/main/OneFinity_Monitor_Mount.stl
@@MakerDan55 any luck on the link for the monitor? You could email it to me if that is easier
@@mirroringmemories6742 Sorry you have been having difficulty with this. Try the link now. It should go to my Git Hub page.
Onefinity the "fantasy unicorn Land" CNC that somehow only exists in online videos. But if you go and try to buy one they are "backordered" for the next 75 yrs. Yeah super legit
What machine did you end up getting?
Just got mine about 4 days ago. Was a long lead time for sure. About 3 months. But it's here and working great so far.
This is the small version of onefinity ?
👋🏼
Nope. This is the full meal deal!
Is this thing REALLY square?
Yes. It cuts approximately 32" by 32". Here are the dimensions for the machine.

@@MakerDan55 Does it cut square? My shapeoko does not and it infuriating
needs more sawdust
HaHa, don't worry, there will be plenty to come I'm sure!
OneFinity should be embarrassed for their cable management
