In this video I play "Kick Back" by Kenshi Yonezu on piano in public.
I also play Attack on Titan's OP "Guren no Yumiya" on piano in public. We played a melodica duet of "Howl's Moving Castle" by Joe Hisashi from Studio Ghibli. We also played an epic piano trio of "In the hall of the mountain king".

It's not easy to do a song as complex as chainsaw man's op with how chaotic it is, the drums and the guitars especially. So to replicate it this well in public is beyond amazing
And the fact the key changes so often too
and hes got gloves on too
Plus the cold and dampness of everything

On another note, sorta off-topic. As someone not well-versed in music or music terms at all, it feels like you are pedaling a bit much at times? I really felt a couple of times like everything felt way too muddied so it was hard to parse out the melody (particularly noticed it with chainsaw man this vid, but remember feeling the same for some songs in a previous vid too). Probably more _correct_ to use the pedal like that, but when combining it with portable recording equipment in an otherwise already noisy area, etc., it made my brain just go "I'm hearing [music-] noises!" (with that "i'm in danger" voice from simpsons) following up with "..ok, maybe a few notes were distinguishable" (regular voice).

You killed it with the chainsaw man song on the piano I never heard anything that good. Also I like how through the Wednesday song yall was dancing in the background 😂
This song is so hard to arrange and while this arrangement kinda falls short in that the rhythmic ostinatos it uses as building blocks don't take advantage of or play to the high energy syncopation heavy strengths of the song (and honestly of every Kenshi Yonezu song), it was still really well performed, and really impressive considering what a hard song this is both to arrange and play on piano.
Edit: the more I listen the more I realise this arrangement might actually capture the spirit of the original more than Animenz's.
Explain in simpler terms it's quite difficult to understand
@@ShintaroPingu3rd kenshi and his band uses complex combos of instruments and harmonizing which is hard to replicate with just one instrument but joe did pretty well despite that fallback

@@scolopendrinae yeah Animenz's version actually highlights that point, because even he didn't quite get the full spirit of the song through the piano, and i feel like it's possible because I have a friend that plays the piano in that way but maybe it's not and every piano arrangement of Kickback will be less than ideal

@@tiz7244 I started with snare, but, my strongest role was mallets. Chimes, bells, vibro, xylo, marimba. Loved them all, but, I left it all behind at a near peak, unfortunately. I was nailing down 4-mallet marimba solo pieces, and loving it. Stupid politics. :/
Gotta say though, I recieved training for the tenors/quads for a while. I really wanted to rock that 5 drum set.
