Tasty Congee & Wuntun Noodle Shop

Serving HK local delicacies and classic dishes! I really enjoyed the wonton noodles (though the large portion didn't seem as large to me but i'm also greedy when it comes to wonton haha). The congee was silky and the general quality of the food was great. Affordable too!

Fu Ho

A Michelin-starred restaurant specialising in Cantonese cuisine. Ordered the aubergine, beancurd skin and fish head stew (must order, this was DELICIOUS), preserved Chinese sausage, Chinese mushrooms and chicken claypot rice and the water chestnut and dried squid pork meat... cake? I don't know the english word for it woops. Good quality food that seemed to be full of regulars.

Ope for the Japanese wagyu hotpot buffet - it's worth the extra dollars! I always try to have less of the fishballs and noodles to focus more on the wagyu slices and veggies there. Great value for money when you're in the mood for hotpot and wagyu!

Honeymoon Desserts
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
A cutesy HK-style desserts shop. I went for the coconut milk sago pudding and the mango snow-capped sago dessert. I'd say the hot coconut milk was the winner here! Both are good though.
A lot of choice of desserts including classic Chinese ones like glutinous rice balls and black sesame soup along with modernised favourites of french toast, sundaes and fruit salads!

Maxim's Palace

A chain of dim sum restaurants. The local one I went to was 'alriiiight'. There are much better places!

Thanks Andy!! Love making these vlogs so I can speak it more! Food in HK is on another level - waddled back onto the plane 😎
Such a good vid- editing, colours, filming... you really captured the fast pace of HK through your editing. And your canto is great!! I so need to practice haha, literally sound like a 5 year old when speaking, actually maybe worse!
Thank you!! Hong Kong is one of my favourite places to film and edit, always get so drawn back to the energy of the place! Haha practice along with me! I always try to speak it when I’m at a dim sum restaurant (bet the staff love me for doing it 😬😬)
your cantonese is sooo good !!!!
Always trying to improve it! But thank you!! ☺️💛
Very good, well done!
Thank you! ☺️
lowkey my new favourite youtuber :0
Yay!!!! Thank you for watching! 😊
Great video and sharing lots of beautiful shots! Can you share some tips about how to find good hotels in Hong Kong?
Thank you, thank you! I rarely stay in central but the times I did, it was in Tsim Sha Tsui which made it very easy to travel around. Other spots like Causeway Bay/Central may be good areas to stay in!
Your cantonese sounds fine👍 but totally understand what you mean about practicing in hk, helps alot 😊can't wait for your next cantonese vlog🤗
Thank you!! Always love filming these Cantonese vlogs so I’ll do one in London next! ☺️
Shu hope you'll enjoy your trip to Singapore! Its really hot here - you can wear all the summer clothes that you desire~ Love it when you do a Canto vlog tooo :)
I’m back in London now but I absolutely ADORED Singapore!! So much that I’m thinking of heading back again soon!
Watching in 2020 and missing Dimsum so much!!! This weekend I’m going to have a Dimsum food coma 😂💛
I love having congee in HK anytime of the day, not only for breakfast. Helmi would love the dessert. Oh the fish stew looks yumm!
Same same saaaame. Would happily have it for all three meals even! The dessert and fish stew were both SO good!
Will you do a vlog about the Cheung Chau bun festival? Btw love your vids! :)
Ooh I’ve never heard of this festival before! I’ll have a search! And thank you!! ☺️💛

Marvelous video
So good 😊
Thank you!! ☺️🎉
My home town :)
One of the best places ever! ☺️💛
Hi where going there in September 5 for 5nights. Can you recommend sum good places to Eat. And sum nice bars for drinks. Thank you Mr king Liverpool England.
Hey Chris! Whew! Where do I start?! I could list a whole bunch but it’s really dependent on your personal preference and taste! Have a look at my 15 things to eat in HK video as well as the food videos in the playlist! ☺️
nice video! btw 新加坡 星加坡 both ok :)
Phew! Was so conscious of it being wrong! Glad both can be used 😅
I've noticed that for words that you pronounce with an sh sound, I say them with an s sound, like for "on top" or "pyjamas". I wonder if it is a dialect or generational difference, or if I am just wrong (which is quite possible aha). For reference, my parents are from HK but I was born in and grew up in the UK, and my speaking Cantonese is nowhere near as good as yours, though I can understand most of what you say.
Furthermore, I say Singapore the way you said it initially. I have never heard Sangapore
Yay!! Love meeting other canto speakers! ☺️ It may just be a difference in dialect!
Singapore其实读成“新加坡”或者“星加坡”都可以。只不过“新加坡”现在是Singapore的官方中文名称。
pretty good cantonese, you def can survive in hong kong.
Haha that’s good to know!
OMG ho dut yee! XD
Hahaha doh jeh!
Where are your glasses from?!
Bailey Nelson! ☺️
Shu thanks ! :)
i believe it is still SINgapoh :p
I always get my pronunciation mixed up in Canto 😅
Her Cantonese is “pretty good”???!!! What are you people smoking? It’s native level! Crazy you can speak both English and Canto perfectly......!
powabiatch Aww this made me laugh hahaa. Always conscious of my Cantonese skills so this makes me so happy!
Ha no subtitles needed here ! I didnt know scallions were “pale onions” in Cantonese.
Yaaaaay!! Ooh I said 青蔥 though pale does sound similar to green and it was so loud in the background too!
lol. my cantonese isn’t as good as i thought ☺️
It is!! Might have been my pronunciation haha
thanks for the canto vlog..reminds me to practice listening too besides speaking...even worse..especially I know a bit of 3 dialects and keep mixing it up sounding like a confused bee LOL
Ohh wow, 3 dialects! I can imagine it can be confusing between them all!
That food looks amazing, and shu is so beautiful already, but she's super sexy when she speaks Cantonese.
Oh Zaylas! You’re going to make me blush! The food was very amazing ☺️
@@dejashu I bet, I love asian food, plus I have a "iron stomach", lol. When it comes to food,so I'm sure I'll love more of the food that Hong Kong offers.
@@dejashu And I hope you blush, because, again, you're so beautiful.

Btw you can use both 新 or 星 for Singapore. Both are valid.
I can always count on you to help with my vocabulary! Thank you! And thank you for your email about the soup dumplings too! Was in Singapore when I received it so didn’t get a chance to visit but it looks SO good! Will have to go next time I’m in town!
Also phew about the Singapore pronunciation! I kept feeling so bad about potentially doing it wrong 😅
You are welcome! Btw you improved a lot in this Canto vlog. Keep up the good work!
Yay! Thank you! 😊
I just could not read the subtitles throughout this entire video.
Ahh sorry, is it because it's not clear/font is big enough? It'd be great feedback to be taken onboard for the next video!
@@dejashu the font was fine but it went by so too fast and it was to much reading I couldn't pay attention to the video the way I wanted to.
@@dejashu I just started the video again the font could be a little bigger.
Your Cantonese is not bad. You have no British accent whatsoever when speaking Cantonese. Your British accent seems to pretty much only comes up exclusively when speaking English from your other videos.
That might be because I’m British and was born here which is why I have the accent! 😅
@@dejashu I have seen your other videos and very well aware you are a British Born Chinese. What I meant to say is often those born to Chinese families in overseas countries often will still speak Chinese or Cantonese with an accent. Especially with with American and Canadian born Chinese people, they tend to speak Chinese with an accent, but yet again, the North American accents tend to be bland vs. Chinese and Cantonese being a more tonal accent, so often the Chinese born in North America will speak Chinese blandly with limited tonal structures.
@@supertrouper Oh I understand!! My parents will be so pleased to hear this! Full credit to them for our upbringing as they were strict with how we pronounced things!
Absolutely you tried all hongkong food
We love you ❤️❤️❤️
