HONG KONG - Today weâre going on an ultimate Hong Kong street food tour to eat some of the best foods you donât want to miss. From breakfast to beef brisket noodles to fiery razor clams, weâre eating the tastiest and most iconic street foods. Letâs go!
Huge thank you to Virginia for helping me arrange this Hong Kong food tour. Check out her videos @hongkongfoodtours and her food tours: humidwithachanceoffishballs.com/
Here's everything we did on this Hong Kong street food tour:
Sing Heung Yuen (maps.app.goo.gl/v4NYAPJ5BTY57...) - This dai pong dong, or Hong Kong street food stall is famous for their tomato macaroni, and thatâs exactly what we came to try. They also have a very unique story of how it became so popular.
Total price - 93 HKD ($11.89)
Sister Wah Beef Brisket (maps.app.goo.gl/6iNz9gXe5CrDC...) - One of the great Hong Kong dishes to try is brisket noodles, and youâll be just as passionate as everyone else when you taste them. Price - 110 HKD ($14.07) per bowl
Street Food Snacks - In addition to full Hong Kong meals on this ultimate street food tour, we also did a little rapid fire snacking on five of the must eat Hong Kong street foods.
1. Stinky tofu
2. Fried intestines
3. Pineapple bun
4. Curry fish balls
5. Egg waffle
Hing Kee Restaurant (maps.app.goo.gl/pGyaXNhNrezRt...) - If you love to eat claypot rice, you canât miss Hing Kee, the most popular claypot rice in Hong Kong. It was an honor to get into the kitchen and see how they make 30 claypots of rice all at the same time with different ingredients and toppings. You also canât miss their oyster omelets, which just about everyone orders.
Oi Man Dai Pai Dong - A Dai Pai Dong is a street food stall in Hong Kong and there are only a handful of them left. Oi Man Dai Pai Dong is perhaps the most well known of all street food stalls serving classic Hong Kong and Cantonese Chinese food. Youâre in for some amazing wok hei and fiery dishes. I loved the black bean sauce razor clams and the fried potatoes and beef.
Total price - 445 HKD ($56.90)

Absolute experience of a lifetime to be able to guide Mark and Ying. AND YES! Theyâre the nicest YTers Iâve ever met! The absolute nicest.
Shade thrown at Sonny đđ
Why you gotta do Sonny like that? We the people know the truth.
â@@MrAlwaysRight and the truth being?
Sonny would actually probably appreciate this comment.
mark is wearing lipstick for you in this video!
I love Virginia's vibe, knowledge and enthusiasm. She describes flavors in a very complex way for a variety of dishes and I couldn't see a better match up than her and Mark for a Hong Kong series.
Thank you for your support!

Thank you very much, Virginia was amazing!
Goodness Virginia hosting both Sonny and Mark in quick succession (I presume) in HK đ
good marketing.
Indeed đđ
She is definitely a amazing addition.
Mikey Chen collaborated with her years ago
This happens at least once a year with these channels. Are the Food Ranger and then Luke Martin going to be in HK next? I'm not the biggest fan when creators piggy back. There was a point when everyone was in Uzbekistan for over a month in CZcams time.
Virginia is a great guide - great compliment to Mark and Ying's video
Mark is truly legendary. Nobody else is doing it like him. Big shout out to my home city Hong Kong
Having lived in Hong Kong for many years the Dai Pai Dong food is still amongst the best you can get
The fact that we get free videos on CZcams by Mark is truly a gift; keeping the knowledge and entertainment alive. đđđ
Absolutely!!! I love his videosâ€
the first dish reminds me of like....when you have no food left in the house but still finna make something lol
I miss HK so much. We lived there several years (Im Irish, wife Hong Kongese) and I dream of when we can move back,.
Absolute experience of a lifetime to be able to guide Mark and Ying. AND YES! Theyâre the nicest YTers Iâve ever met! The absolute nicest.
Wow Hong Kong is seriously a paradise for foodies! Each and every meal displayed in this episode is significantly special. All the chefs are so fantastic however the clay pot chef & the chef handling multi fiery woks is phenomenal food techs. Virginia is such a ray of sunshine so informative & bubbly which makes her a awesome guide. All cuisines looks amazing but the noodle soup, fried intestines, fish balls, clay pots, & stir fried gravitates to my cravings the most. Omgoodness!! 40min long upload was such a treat for me way to start a day. Thanks Mark for such iconic documentaries on international food & culture. You're the best!! Safe travels & blessings always to you & your family!! So anticipating on your weekend upload. Cheers my friend!! đđ„đČđđĄđ»đ„
So glad you enjoyed this video and the delicious food in Hong Kong. Hope you have a fantastic day as well!
Mark Weins in HK, love to see it! And Virginia is a fantastic guide for this. I'm Cantonese American in the US and it's so nice to hear a foreign language in a video that I actually understand. Feels like family and home. Thanks Mark!

I love Mark Wiens for his authenticity and his dedication to bring global food culture to us! Love every video!! Love how he eats sooooo much and still in shape. If only ⊠i can be like that too! đ
Virginia is the best Host Mark has ever had on his channel
Lame. Just copying sonnys content. Exactly the same food
The best was the last guy in India

@Mesdddddd yeah cos shes probably getting commission
The best was the Bangladeshi, Pakistan and middle eastern
I miss Hong kongâ€
It's great to see Mark back to HK. Virginia already getting good business with all these food tour cast. I'm already marking down Sing Heung Yuen, Oi Man Sang, Hing Kee Claypot Rice, & Sister Wah Beef Brisket Noodles for my meals when I return to HK by the end of the year.
Virginia is so knowledgable and eloquent. I definitely prefer this much slower pace content. :)
She's pretty for sure, could watch her all day consuming food.đ€

That claypot rice looks legendary!
I like the back story to how the first dish was created. It reminded me of mulligatawny soup:
Indian meals are traditionally served all at once, the containers placed in the center of the table, family-style.
During the British Raj in India, between 1858 and 1947, the British Officers and soldiers refused to alter their way of dining, which usually included a soup course.
There wasnât really an Indian soup, so the servants would water down one of their favorite dishes, milagu tannir, which translates to âpepper waterâ in Tamil, a southern Indian dialect. The pronunciation gradually then became mulligatawny, as itâs known today.
They took it back to Britain, where itâs fairly common and sold in stores to this day.
There is then the famous story about chicken tikka masala, created in Glasgow when a patron in an Indian restaurant in the 1970s asked for some 'gravy' to go with his chicken tikka, and so a masala sauce was added. It is now one of the most popular Indian dishes in the UK.
Very cool, I agree, the backstory of each dish makes it even more special, that keeps us traveling for food. Both very cool stories you shared!
Another awesome, hunger inducing episode Mark! I've seen Virginia on with Sonny Side and a few other food You Tubers. She is so knowledgeable, has a ton of energy, and very pretty smile of course. You can tell she loves her job and that is so important in everyone's life. Thanks for having and filming her eat with you. On most of the other YT shows they don't show her much. You're a great guy Mark.
The food scene in HK is just awesome! Pure ecstasy .
I got goosebumps when I saw you at the Central Rama IX store last Sunday doing VLOG. I'm the only one in my family who knows you and I try to explain to my family what an incredible person you are!. One thing comes to mind. I need to take a photo with you, but I can't because you're doing your job.
Still my lucky Sunday :D
Love you!
Was that you inside of the restaurant? No problem, next time we can definitely take a photo. Thank you very much krub!

Loved Virginiaâs explanation
Virginia is legit local food tour guide. Hong Kong local approved!
Mark is a Trade Mark For Foodies Lovers around the world â€
This was a great spotlight on Hong Kong eats. I especially loved Mark's take on the claypot chef at Hing Kee. It really did look and sound like he was playing a "musical instrument" comprised of cymbals.
Always watching your blog before I go to bed every night to put me to sleep. The reason why, it makes me hungry just watching. I enjoyed and love all your blogs.â€â€â€
Chinese pineapple buns are literally the BEST thing ever especially the ones with the fillings inside. OMGGGG, I wish we could make those here in Muuurrica!!!

đź Wow, how nice to see that Mark is still doing food tours †It makes my mouth waters, so soothing and satisfying đđ€©âïž
Very interesting Hong Kong food tour.
Everything looked Delicious. The razor clams were new to me but I am definitely going to make this recipe.
Thank You Mark for this awesome tasty Hong Kong food tour.
One of a Kind !!!!
I'm not surprised that a dish that mainly contains beef and potato can taste great. In my country, Sweden, one of the most beloved dishes is biff/beef Rydberg which consists of high quality meat (ideally fillet/beef tenderloin) cut in cubes, potatoes cut in cubes, fried onions, salt and pepper (often served with raw egg yolk). It's a delicious dish when made properly by a good chef using the right ingredients.
Wowwwwwww the food chemistry between these two
Virginia is amazing. Great episode.
This is one of the best episode for sure
I couldâve used this updated video when I went 3 weeks agođ hope you enjoyed HK again!
Two of my FAV youtubers!. This is awesome and hopefully will introduce HK food culture to the West. Love it! BTW- Virginia sharing food with Mark.....Hummmmmm.....That cook in the Orange shirt has been featured in every HK Dai Pai Dong video I have ever seen; he must be a celebrity by now
