Ergonauts Compact Collapsible Umbrella Broken: Jammed Shaft mechanism

This is my Ergonauts compact collapsible umbrella.
I purchased it November 1St 2022 and it cost me £20.99 at time of purchase.
Today's date is July 5th 2024 and the umbrella has malfunctioned around 2 weeks ago from just general usage in ordinary British weather.
I opened it as usual, but it would not lock into position (as you can see in the video).
Anyway.. It has been a great umbrella until now...
but now the telescopic shaft mechanism is stuck and
It will not lock into position to hold the canopy open, and it will not collapse the telescopic shaft down.
The button is also jammed stuck.
I think the little white cord/string has snapped inside near the top of the shaft, and it is blocking
The shaft spring locking mechanism from collapsing down.
The umbrella canopy and ribs still function and it splays open correctly. The problem is with shaft locking mechanism.
