I live in Sebring and never knew we had a racetrack and I recently got into sim racing. I played the track Sebring a lot and didn’t know it was my town Sebring until my friend ask me if I wanted to go to 12 hours of Sebring. I know the track inside and out and it’s stupid accurate. Even the background like turn 7 hotel and the airport. Crazy
Lucky!! Will you build a track car and track it there someday? I bet itll be awesome
I can’t imagine realizing your home town has one of the most historic race tracks in the country and one of the 3 endurance races of the triple crown. What a surprise that was!
@@brendancarter3453 Holy snap i forgot all about this comment made haha. It was such a surprise and its really cool to see the cars.
It's not that accurate. it's missing all the scafolding and drunks at turn 10, the couch fires, ripped up porn magazines, guiys walking around in cow costumes, girls lifting their shirts (all the stuff that makes Green Park, Green Park) not enough trailers and team tents on the back straight (right side) and too many on the left side. There aren't enough 5 million dollar RVs on the front straight and through Turn 1. And the drive over bridge got replaced 2 years ago. Garbage. J/K this looks amazing. I've been going to Sebring for 25 years.
Yeah, Ive been to Sebring and its awesome.
I hope someday Sebring will be in every title like Spa and Nords is. It has such a rich international endurance racing history but gets overlooked a lot.
OhItsThat it’s so unique compared to anything else in the world. It’s probably the toughest surface of any circuit in the world which really tests the toughness of man and machine more than any other.
ACC does not have Nords :( , I would trade SPA for Nordschleife without hesitation . Cant look at it anymore :D
@@georgfranko acc doesn't have tracks that are not it blancpain or gt3 series
It’s very unique especially for a track built on an old airfield as those are pretty common throughout the world. Sebring has a very neat layout and the bumps really separate the men from the boys
Did you know that the iRacing spotter has a second use? If you got hit with a ball in your crotch, he is gonna tell you if your testicles are still ok.
Its like:
"Left side... Still there!"
"Right side... Clear!"

That car & track combo is so damn addictive - I ended up driving so long the car pitching on triple sxreens was giving me little motion sickness twinges. Never really got into rf2 until the new official content, but all of a sudden it's almost a new game.
Jimmy, putting a little window of Cinema mode on the top-right would be an awesome addition to your videos. Love the content!
I've been saying this in the /r/simracing subreddit for years.
Glad I'm not alone.
Sebring is the always the last track to be rendered or launched in a game. It's my favorite track. The last corner is the best. Sunset. Jimmy. JIIIIIIMEEEE
I prefer VR videos. They feel far more realistic, immersive and natural. To be honest I can't stand the fixed camera. Keep up the good work!
Agreed. VR driving is one of the few genres that look good on a flat screen.
Tbh, I prefer the fixed non-vr camera bc it represents something closer to what you see on onboard cameras, making it feel more realistic to me.
VR is amazing, but a tad too shaky to be comfortable on some big screens.
I like VR for short stints but it's too jerky and messy for longer videos in my view.
Daz555Daz Using VR to race usually cures that.;)
rFactor 2 is on sale right now for the 2018 holiday sale. This video has convinced me to pull the trigger and buy RF2. Thanks for doing this awesome video.
I spent all of my Friday doing this combo. Such a great track.
jimmer is thicc boye
It can't be the best without VR. It's like saying a picture of something is just as good as seeing it in person.
"i'd rather live in virtual reality than real life boi here"
Checks my steam, 150 hours in VR Chat.....
sigh.... yup....

Thank you Jimmy for showing the new Sebring track. I already have another version of it for Rfactor2, but I will certainly get this great new version of the track. I did get a Rfactor2 updated thinking that was the track, but Sebring is a new DLC to purchase. Continue to keep us informed with your videos.
Always a treat to watch Jimmer at Sebring. This circuit always brings out some of your best racing.
Man oh man Jimmy. Your videos are SO intense. I really love the feeling you put in your driving. GREAT. And yes - the rF2 Sebring track is awesome.
I just feel happy Everytime my favorite sim racing youtuber uploads a new video ;)
Having spectated many events at Sebring, they certainly nailed the infield/exterior details of buildings, trees, photography stands. I can imagine this is a crazy accurate track as well. Might have to get a wheel again soon.
I used to love Sebring on Sports Car GT in the 90s :)
Right on. The best. Panoz GTR1 was superb
Refactor2 & a laser scanned track .....BLISS !
Nothing better
Hey Jimmy, it would be interesting if you could compare this track to the Virtua_LM version of Sebring. Also, the United Racing Design Detroit EGT is a an AWESOME representation of the Ford GT in RF2. Great to drive and great race against. Even has a Le Mans aero package like the Studio 397 GTE cars.
Love your videos i live 8 miles away from Sebring raceway it's truely a unique track to drive on
You should’ve use the 🐷 livery
EdiblePine Plays Porksche?
Jimmer is a seasoned simracer, but you'd never know that watching one of his VR videos. It's so real to him that it is real to us too. Just like riding as passenger in his personal racecar.
I like this guy, great voice to listen to while watching.
this track is so nice ... in rFactor 2. wow. I love to drive this too next days with the BMW M2 CS
BEST sim racing channel around. Cant believe I didnt find it earlier.
Though we may disagree on ams2, we absolutely agree on rf2. Simply the best!
The more the merrier. Love seeing other sims getting into the fray like this. Track looks the part according to Jimmers straining arms.
Perfect timing Jimmer, I'll be going to a track day next weekend! Also the track looks very accurate, last year I was there in a E30, and a friend of mine's 800hp R32
That was fun to watch Jimmy...Yes this track is awesome!
Love the current 911 RSR!
c7r
As always BRILLIANT
Awesome Jim ....What a track, just purchased !
It s so nice bro I like your races with comments
Great racing Jimmy, Really enjoyed that.
Add the VR version, people who race in VR appreciate the video so much more!!!!
Of course Jimmy, this is by far the best Sebring version at the moment.
Fabulous work from S397 and it’s worth every penny in my opinion.
Great video like always.
"Stop using the Gulf livery" he says while driving a car with the Gulf livery. Great video nonetheless Jimmers, keep going.
You should record a weightlifting max video... so you do max deadlift, max bench, max squat, and max power clean. Then add them all except the deadlift
Endurace pack dlc + track mods = true epic game
I'd really like to see comparison shot of he road mesh between rf2 and any other sim that uses laser scanned road mesh. One of rf2's big weaknesses is that the realroad can not separate the physical and visual meshes so you end up with lower density uniform mesh for both visuals and physics. In iracing and ac the meshes are separate so you can make the physical mesh super accurate while the visual mesh is not so you get better road surface but also good fps. Uniformity also means rf2 can't add more detail to places with more bumps unlike other sims which can add or remove detail to match the road surface without sacrificing fps.
Or did rf2 fix this limitation with realroad? What does the rf2 sebring road mesh wireframe look like?
We did show and explain some of this in the community night and announcement (showing an overlay that visualizes our mesh). What we obviously can't do is compare it to other sims, but if you can find similar footage from others you can compare. Having one and the same mesh is not necessarily a disadvantage, as you see exactly what you drive, and the resolution of the mesh (we feel) is more than enough, even with our tyre model sampling the road at 2400 Hz (which is probably more than other sims out there).
I watched one of the community night videos and I don't think you have ever actually shown the mesh. You showed the point cloud laid on top of your track mesh. I did not found single image of your road surface wireframes. Similar images can be easily found for other games.
As far as seeing exactly what you are driving on, that is more of a strength with the separate visual and physical meshes. The visual mesh is laid on top of the physical mesh very accurately (3d artist does not do this by hand). It is very much the same process if lay your road mesh accurately on top of your point cloud or if lay the visual mesh on top of the physical mesh. In both cases you drive on what you see. Only cases where there is a discrepancy between the visual mesh and the physical mesh is if the 3d artist did use too low poly visual mesh or forgot to apply a tool before exporting his model into the game.
There are obvious benefits to visual+physical mesh and one is the tris count. Something like sebring is 6.020km long and let's say 12 meters wide. If you make your road mesh out of 1m x 1m squares you end up with 78 thousand vertices (which is about 144,500 tris/polygons). This not very accurate and in some places too low poly just to create a smooth surface. Going from 1m x 1m squares to 33cm x 33cm squares your vertices count goes from 62 thousand to 670 thousand and your tris count goes to 1,3 million tris/polygons. That is a massive load on your gpu and memory even if you cut it into smaller objects (not sure if you can with real road). And it is still uniform in your case so this not going to create exact gradients of bumps or accurate camber changes. In other sims with 1,3 million tris mesh you can make the mesh more detailed exactly where you need the extra detail. And you save a lot of fps when your gpu doesn't need to handle million+ polygon dense meshes.
If you had the choice of using separate physical and visual mesh I'm 100% sure you'd make your physical mesh bigger than your road mesh is now and at the same time make the visual mesh much less dense than your road mesh is now.
Here is an image from assetto corsa. This is the imola physical mesh according to a forum post I found:
i.imgur.com/atpcFiM.png
This is what an uniform 12m wide 0.333meter accurate road surface looks like:
i.imgur.com/pr1MYkg.png
If I had to guess your road surface is less dense than that.
Marcel Offermans congratulations on making a fantastic track, the level of detail is superb, and that makes the FFB quite something else, however my FPS is terrible on this circuit in VR, are you going to optimize it, and VR in general?
We did and you can see that here: www.studio-397.com/2018/07/sebring/
The first image has the greyscale dots (raw pointcloud) and the blue dots (points for our mesh), and in the second image you see the same blue dots and what the road looks like in game. But each blue dot is an actual point of our mesh. The only thing we did not do is draw extra lines between those points.
Best race against AI ever , really enjoyed the video.Great job Jimmo
3:43 "See, thats where you're wrong, Kiddo"
ooh yeah...! Sebring is not - by far - my favorite track, but this laser scanned version is SO GOOOD... dude! Don't hesitate trying all the good cars on it. I had a real blast in particular with the Formula Renaut 3.5 (2014 version). Cold tires on the first lap --> just amazingly "immersive" ;)
This video made me buy rfactor 2... literally just now.
good time now, 50% sale
Picked it also up in sale!
Wow, I think I'll have to grab RF2. When that Gulf Porsche moved across to defend I actually though it was a real person driving.
Fun video, would’ve loved an outside replay of that last corner!
Glad someone else feels the same way about the Gulf livery on modern cars. Love the Original Gulf liveried cars but doesn't work the same on modern ones.
I think it does. I love the look of the Gulf Racing UK 911 RSR.
I love see IndyCar race here
Love the VR, enjoyed this too
I grew up in FL, and raced go-karts twice at Sebring for the state championship, and I’m pretty sure driving a kart here with zero suspension is why I have lower back pain lol
Congrats on the 120k subs
Yeah Boi , rF2 Sebring and the RSR is a perfect match ,well that and VR that is !
Great video of Sebring Jimmy!
That was fun to watch, kinda gutted it was only 5 laps.
The kink after turn 1 is turn 2 look at a track map that counts the corners and you will see there is a sign at the track that says that is turn 2
I'm a fan of your VR vids 👍
freaking ace biscuits
BUMPY BOI.
I like this version more than iRacing.
Bit of Jimmy Broad'bait' into the hairpin ;)
YES
i remember sebring a lot from forza. the last corner seems to be the same in that you either get it right with plenty to spare or you MASSIVELY over do it and nearly end up in the outside wall. theres no pushing it through there.
If I had a rig like this I would do sim racing 24/7... literally
Great vid Jimmy, the AI was giving you hell in this race but you drove a good race buddy.
Watched this 3 times lol can’t agree more
Jimmy try the 1998 Cart mod with this track "OMG!"
Was just wanting to watch a video about this. As usual Jimmer delivers
Was hoping this video was going to happen!
Great Race, Well done Boi.

You aren't very good with words? I'm insulted.
If you aren't very good, then I'm absolute trash!
(Keep up the good work, Jimmer!)
This is Immersive!
Gulf livery’s look good mate lol
The intros keep me from ending it all
super video jimmz !
incredible track
That is one hell of a *bumpy boi*
I'd love to see a sim beig brave enough to put in random failures. I'd really love to see that. (optional of cause, I know there are a lot of people who wouldn't like that)
T04STY project cars 2 has that feature, wether you consider it a sim is something else.
True but as you implied...I don't :D
PC2 does not have random failures

It just takes a quick search man
Project cars 2 random mechanical failures
I am talking about sims man.
Just here to send some love. Love you jimmy
cement instead of tarmac on the start?
Rear view camera is cool
A great vid again! Thanks! Btw, could u share your Ai settings ? Limiter, strenght etc.. thanks👍
That was a fun finish
I like VR videos better because it looks so much more like real racing with all the head movement.
I love your VR videos! Would be a shame if you would do less VR in the future
I owned rFactor 2 before it hit Steam... and missed the email notifying me of the change of developers and missed out on my cd key. Refuse to buy it again but gee it's looking good!
Just buy it, it's worth it.
What about trying to beat Scott McLaughlin's 2:03.831 at Bathurst?
Hi jimmy, greetins from Argentina and sorry for my bad english.
I would like you make a video to how the noobs can introduce in the sim racing genre. Perhaps a summary of your prefered sim racing games apointing the pros and the cons of each other.
Buy a good racing wheel, like a G29, rFactor 2 and Assetto Corsa. That's how you I began
you have to hand it to Jimmer because he comments while driving soo good
2:12 Anyone else notice the corvette spitting flames
Should do a 100 grid with karts on here Jimmer
I've been curious to try RF2, but on Steam it says only compatible with Vive. I use Oculus Rift. Can you run RF2 on the Rift?
bbcoltrane yes
why do I have Horrible Sun Glare in game, like unplayable, the glare of the sun in the rear view mirrors is so blinding I cant even play. Do I need to change back to v1109 dx9. Ive been using v1110
Mitchell Doub try turning the post effects off in the video setup menu (found in the launcher).
will do thanks Jimmy
Can you please do the hangary pole lap in the rain?
The ending, RRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
is it 4k resolution in game ?
Thanks for this video !
Can you share your simucube and game set up please ?
Leave the song at the end longer ... Please. Thanks
A VR version of this!
