  • Sunset and night-time visit to Knowlton Church for photography shoot. In February 2024 I visited Knowlton Church in Dorset where I intended to shoot the sunset and the night sky as the constellation of Orion rose behind it. What a wonderful evening I had - meeting a number of people in the process and having some great conversation. Many thanks for Matt Dutton for sending me some of the drone footage that he took.
Night-scapes and PHOTOGRAPHY and LANDSCAPES and SUNSETS are what gets the blood coursing through my veins. If you love landscape photography and wish to find out more about how I turn my favourite locations into images that I treasure, then you're in the right place. I shoot with a Nikon camera and mostly Nikkor / Nikon lenses. I also use the Move Shoot Move star Tracker for crispy clear night skies.

Great video Nigel, LOVE the drone shots 😏 hehe.
Shame about the fogging, that is why I left that night, unfortunately my lovely friends distracted me and I was not paying attention to lens and temperature. I actually had a lens warmer strap in my bag but it was too late to test it out, it told me it is meant to stop the fogging ya see. Have you tried these yourself, im not sure if they work as they should yet?
I have the Laowa 25mm 2.5x - 5x macro lens, definatelly keen to try out some more of theirs, the 100mm macro lens looks good as it also focuses to infinity and the newer 10mm seems interesting for sure.

I’m glad you like it. I do have a couple of lens warmers and di use one on the Nikon lens that night. Sadly, and somewhat bizarrely, the problem seems to be even worse when I have tried the lens warmer on that one. But not on any of my other lenses. There’s something about this Nikkor 20mm that just doesn’t want to play when it gets cold. Next time, I shall try without any lens warmer and see how that works out.
I’d love to try some of the other Laowa lenses, but atm, I only have the 15mm, so I can’t relay comment about the others just now.
