  • In 2022, the NT-USB is a bit dated in comparison to the competition like the Blue Yeti and Movo UM800. So it’s not surprising that RODE decided to resurrect one of its most popular devices with the NT-USB+. Let’s take a look! 👀 radio.co/blog/rode-nt-plus-re...

    Been using the NT-USB since I started my channel 3 years ago, I've just ordered one of these! I also use it for work-related Zoom calls, podcast guest appearances and the like. Hopefully the onboard DSP will save me some post-processing once I get it dialed in and the high quality preamp and higher resolution ADC is very welcome. Great review!

    Thanks for the review !
    For CZcams video, do you think the rode mini is better because less sensitive ? ( I don't have isolated room, just standard room)
    Or the senheiser profile maybe ? Shure mv7 is to expensive

  • @thisfellowreadsstuff3861

    How do you have all room/sound treatment and still have so much room noise? :P Great video!

  • @alanfindlayviewfromtherock6200

    The NT-Mini is better value if your audio is hobby podcasting in my opinion - I have two! That said, I prefer a dynamic mic on the basis that I don't have the best recording environment.

    Can I adjust sensitivity from external or just from app?

    I cannot find anywhere a video that explains the setup in Rode Central. Once I updated the firmware, I see four settings I should know: Noise Gate, Compressor, Aural Exciter and Big Bottom. Should I just turn them all on? Or, which?

    • @ronnieryanpc
      @ronnieryanpc Před rokem +5

      Noise gate: cuts down on background noise
      Compressor: avoids clipping if you suddenly shout
      Exciter: Adds twinkle to mids?
      Big bottom: adds a little base to your voice

    YOU want a mic, you want a mic with DSP, you want the best price ... this is it.
    Make sure when you do your comparisons, you are comparing something with an actual DSP onboard and not something using "software" that ends up running on your host computer that taxes your CPU.
    Systems with on board DSP power of their own are superior. This is a MEGA bargain in that category.

      Thanks for your input with DSP (I did a little search on it after). I am looking for a microphone for gaming session and I just noticed this Rode NT+. I checked Sennheiser and Elgato but it seems that this NT+ is a solid choice especially for me who never had any external mic.

    Why my nt usb+ making continuous "shhh" noise during recording?

    • @fangsoffuego
      @fangsoffuego Před rokem

      I want to know too, because either there is an external device making that noise or its the usb plus's self noise, i hope its external and not internal

    Ironically, the audio on this video review is pretty poor. It's sorta muffled, like it needs a voice lift filter applied.

    Your review would be better if you could consistently pronounce "think", and knew a barber.
