Great interview. They asked some good questions.
What Mr. McLaughlin was describing at 24:00 was those Rare Super Pigeons whose Feather and Muscle quality is so good it literally feels fluidly elastic in the hands I can bet when he held "The Freak" for the first time that was also what he felt.
Funny you say that. When I was selecting pigeons for the AU Convention in 2012 I grabbed a youngster and said to my brother. "This pigeon is a Freak". The bird went on to dominate the race series and be about 22 minutes ahead on a tough convention race. I kept the name The Freak.

Hey frank. Still remember my first birds rollers tumblers. I strayed in a ringed pigeon turned out it belong to a local pigeon man.. My love of the birds started from there watching them home and going to the clubs as a junior was something that will stay with me forever. I love my Red Checkers still do. There's a Stigma with the Reds and Pieds. But they win in all colours.. Good times Ahead..🙏😊

Tippler tossing ... Believe it or not, in Cleveland, they used to race what they called Endurance Rollers, which were old local bloodlines that were bred for time flying. I still have one of these old lines preserved here, but they are mostly all gone now. Most guys no longer have time to watch a bunch of pigeons fly in the pins all day long anymore. In the old days, they would race them for 10 to 20 miles, but it might take them a few hours to cover that distance. Those days, are however, now a thing of the past, their fliers gone into wherever it is we all go in the end and so are most of those birds as well.
