  • Sir David Attenborough, President Emeritus of The Wildlife Trusts, speaking at the opening of Woodberry Wetlands on 30th April 2016. Woodberry Wetlands is London Wildlife Trust’s spectacular new nature reserve in Hackney, created around the Stoke Newington East Reservoir, a site that had been closed to the public for almost 200 years.
The reserve offers an opportunity for people to enjoy wildlife and nature in the heart of London, free of charge, fully accessible and less than ten minutes' walk from Manor House Underground Station.
London Wildlife Trust thanks Sir David and everyone who helped make Woodberry Wetlands possible, including the many volunteers who have contributed their hard work and time, and our many partners in the project including Thames Water, Heritage Lottery Fund, London Borough of Hackney, Berkeley Homes, Veolia Environmental Trust and many more.
