    I’ve been holding off on getting the monstrum 1-10x panzer, it almost seems too good to be true. Also it seems very hard to spot the center at 1x. But I’ve only heard good things about it so I might just go ahead and pick it up.

    • @musek5048
      @musek5048 Před měsícem +1

      its not so much whether its too good to be true or not. the question is will YOU get one that doesn't have some kind of issue? when you start dipping into the very low end of the gear market what i noticed goes down in quality is the QC, which honestly isn't that big of a deal as long as said company is responsive (looking at you BCA) and willing to do what it takes to make it right. if the materials and design are good then it comes down to QC to catch all the potential bad ones before they get out. I'm looking at trying one of their prisms myself but only after I've bought the scopes that I really want. Don't want to be wasting time figuring out if the optic is the culprit or not if its the only one i'm going to have.

      100% With budget companies, WE are the QC that finds the lemons. That said Monstrum is pretty good for returns and replacements. Maybe because I'm "influencer"? I dunno. I'm hoping to get feedback from you guys.

      @@Moondog2Aanother channel did a video on one of the best scopes of its type. They showed that the company threw out a high percentage of the scopes it made do only the best would be sold. As they pointed out, you are not only paying for that scooe you bought, you are paying for all the ones that they threw away. The company doesn't just write them off and take a loss over all. its likely that you could get a monstrum that would do better if you had 15 of them to test. What you said is correct. We are the QC. But on the other hand, how much are the small differences going to actually make if you need to use the weapon. I would expect not enough to justify paying for all those ones that you pay for that were of lesser quality. Monstrum all the way for me personally. I'm just made a 300 order from monstrum. I'm setting up one gun with an lvpo optic, 4 with prism optics, and attachment points for slings. Just saying.

      @musek5048 btw, just send it back to get a new one if you have any issue at all. Monstrum has r3placed a open box scope for me...they sent a replacement before I could even mail the old one back.

  • @rumdog117
    @rumdog117 Před měsícem +5

    I'm willing to bet that there is an lvpo that cost ten times what the t6 cost, and is even better. So what. At what point does diminishing returns actually make on hitting a target down range. Also keep in mind that the military using it doesn't mean its the best. It means ot is the nest at yhe lowest price the military was willing to pay for an lvpo that had to meet what ever criteria yhey asked for. That you can buy the monstrum amd have enough money left over to buy a rifle to go with it shows that the military probably isn't eorried about cost as the test of us mear mortals do.

  • @dansowonik941

    Don't have a Monstrum, but have a Tacticon FFP 1-6 LVPO. Zoom is smooth, glass is clear and the Best part of it is that I had enough $$ left over to spend on more important things like training and ammo. Not trying to knock SIG or any other "name branded" optic, but unless you have the training, skill and nessessity to make spending literally thousands on an optic, it doesn't make sense to do so.

    the big question to me, is the settling on FFP or SFP. i have a monstrum optic, and i also have a name brand optic, plus few burris lpvos. i agrea 100% with your end result. the $ can be spent with more training and gear. and when the owner is ready to spend some coin , he has a lot of traffic, learning, and experience in his tool box. For me right now, it is trying to decide FFP or SFP . and i keep leaning to SFP , its easier do u have a constant preference on the SFP or FFP? I like Monstrum.

      SFP for me. In an urban or suburban castle defense situation, I wont' be realistically engaging anything further than 100yrds. Except for the Arken EP8 all other FFP reticles I've looked through are waaaay too thin at 1x to be useful without max illumination.

      @@Moondog2A so basically the only real practical use for FFP scopes is longer ranges? it makes sense for an stardard ar15 setup to run an SFP since the round shoots very flat out to 300 yards give or take. is it true that a cheap budget SFP would be better built that a FFP scope due to the design?

    • @Moondog2A
      @Moondog2A  Před měsícem +1

       @musek5048 I don't think "better built" it's just that SFP are less complicated internally, so you can make it cheaply and it'll still be dumb resistant.
      I fall into the speed shooting camp like 3-guners who tend to favor bold SFP reticles. My LEO buddy who owns the Tango6T in the video prefers a fine reticle because he may be dealing with hostages and doesn't want any obstruction in his field of view for PID.
