Tool literally spoils all other music. I am a huge fan of a ton of music and bands, and I listen to other stuff, but I always come back to TOOL. Seriously never get tired of their songs.
NooDLES411911 same here I love all kinds of music but Tool is something special. I’m 52 and their music never gets old. The best band ever in my opinion.
NooDLES411911
Exactly and I explored a lot of
Music but Tool all the way ...
Same here, I still find new things in their songs all the time, even after about 15 years of listening to them
Tepasd
Since 1993 😉
You never get tired because you always goin to find something new in all their songs. No matter how much or how long you have been listening
I'm a 54 year old rocker, and I love love love that you young guys are loving Tool.
I'm 55. I concur. 😁✌
Same here.
I'm 47 and still rockin out. YEAH!!!!!
Yes im 54 too and love seeing their third eye open 👁️
The first time I saw Tool was in 91 which makes me 48...very rare do we all get to see a band mature (and survive) into a space that gives us songs like Invincible. I love watching people realize what Tool is. Its not a band. Its a force of nature
Being a 53 year old woman looking back on my life..having raised three wonderful kids alone and worked and still working my ass off..When I first heard this song..It touched me deeply. I say this is MY theme song in life. I've struggled, I've fought..I've won battles..and Here I Am! 🤘😁 I have and will always love this band. I love the older, raw songs when I'm pissed off and I love songs like this that I can just chill to and get a great vibe. Great reaction guys. Welcome to the rabbit hole. #spiralout #toolarmy
The Trash Talkers: (1 minute in) This is epic”..
Tool fans watching: Haaaahahaha... just wait.
So true
fact
Yup
Ahahah . You re right
Your soooo right
Listened to this song for first time right when my son,18, left to Marines boot camp. All I can do was picture him struggling, in the mud, weapon out & belly in, bellowing aloud, bold and proud. I tear up every time I hear this song. He is now on his first deployment. I listen to this song almost every night when I miss him.
If you like that smooth, vibey sound, you’re going to LOVE Pneuma.
I second this
I third this. The "Danny Carey Vic Firth" video will rock y'all.
m.czcams.com/video/FssULNGSZIA/video.html
Best percussionist ever.
The drum start on Pnuema reminds me of playing with spinning bike spokes as a kid.
Doc79 although I want them to watch this, I hope they listen to the studio version first.
@@se777en73120 Agreed, ALWAYS the studio version first. Live performances are to bring a new perspective to the song, and shouldn't be the first introduction into the song. Some exceptional performances don't adhere to this rule though.
This song has made my cry, several times.
First time I heard it, I couldn't resist... worst thing was I wasn't aware until I was sobbing
I cried when I tried to sing it. There is something in that song that can't be explained
Ditto
But such a good cry!
Alex Grey always uses eyes in his artwork. He’s always said eyes are the windows to the soul, symbolizing consciousness and its many infinite perspectives. Fitting as how Tools entire discography is one epic story of consciousness finding itself. 👌🏼🌀👁
"Beating tired bones, tripping through remember when..." Makes me choke up every time... (I'm 42 and feel it.)
I feel you brother I'm 46. "Feeling time bearing down..."
Agreed. 51 here and I think a lot of people miss the nostalgic message of this song. Youth and strength slowly slipping away
Just turned 50 and my bones are tired...
@@chriscoote2690 Our armor might be wearing thin but we were fortunate enough to have Tool in our lives for going on 30 years. I really feel they'll release another album within 3 years. I saw them live in Feb and they were amazing. They're at the top of their game still.
John Wilson I had tickets to the Montreal show that got postponed. I’ve seen them twice before, so at least I have the memories...👍🏻
Yeah Maynard sings different because he's way older than all the other albums. LIke fine wine though
Hehe, I see what you did there. Caduceus Cellars!
I saw an interview, where Maynard said he decided he no longer wants to write in 4x4 (4 lines to a verse-chorus-4 lines-chorus...the formula most every song follows) because we don’t speak in 4x4, so why compromise for the sake of conventional wisdom? Brilliant. A lesser band would sound terrible with all the changes in the time signatures Tool incorporates...that’s how great they are at this.
he still screams at live concerts, saw him last month in Auckland NZ, was freaking incredible
He's lost it live. It is what it is. 🤷♂️
I hope I’m this cool when I’m 55
This was my favorite for at least 2 hours. Then it became just another total masterpiece by Tool.
Have you checked out..lost in Vegas?
@@pennyrogers5251 yup. Over and over.
Is that a reaction channel
This song is about the realization that you’re past your prime in life. I’m 45. I felt that.
drb2k me too
46 next month...mom died a few years back and im a single father....felt more like a sountrack to my state of life!! definitely feel this.
45 next month. Perfect song at the right time in my life.
Same boat. God I feel so old sometimes
"Heavy shield down"
Gets me every time.
Listen to "Third Eye" and you will understand all they eyes
Yes
Exactly what I was going to say.
Third Eye it is a amazing journey!
Combined with that outher space clip it have practically blown my mind(sober mode)
Amazing work!
This whole album was a chance to let Danny and Adam just brag about how much better they are than everyone. Such a phenomenal album.
TOOL: "Right in two"
Great song
Tool: rosetta stoned.
The master piece.
@@IronSide_Gamer Overwhelmed as one would be...
My favorite Tool song
Top 5 drummer, top 5 bassist, top 5 guitarist, top 5 vocalist.
BEST BAND EVER
You mean top an all!!! Please tell me anyone better than them? Specially Carry and Maynard and Jones
@Captain Lazypants Bonham is a fucking monster. Plant is very (very) good though I can barely listen to him live. Page is hugely overrated, but still a great composer !
Adam Jones is definetely not a top 5 guitarist, whatever angle from which you chose to look at it (technicality, musicality, composing skills, riffing, feeling...). And don't get me wrong : Tool is my favourite band (altough Fear Inoculum is very disappointing to me).
MCHiphopotamus Adam Jones may not be a top five guitarist, but it’s not his technical prowess that makes him great. It’s the fact that he knows exactly what to put into the song and when. Like having the correct TOOL for the task (pun intended).
You guys are a breath of fresh air. I'm 42 and grew up on these dudes. Undertow and Aenima got more rotation on my tape deck and CD player than probably any other album I've ever owned. And now I get to see a new generation of fellas learning the beauty of Tool. But you two especially make it great because you show so much respect for the band. I can't thank you enough for these reactions.
The line “Tales told of battles won, of things we’ve done... Caligula would grin.”
Oof
Dustomatic my favorite line of the song. If they only knew, I’d be locked up 😁
Scrolled to this comment just as Maynard sang that line. Wowzah!
@@chrisstover1560 Holly shit me too
Holly shit me too. lol. Only tool would think to add that line. Brilliant!!!
Tool has had 3 producers, 1 on the EP Opiate and their first album Undertow, 1 on Aenema and Lateralus and 1 on 10,000 Days and Fear Inoculum. Once you listen to the majority of their catalog you will see the broad message they are trying to convey. Most albums are conceptual. Fear Inoculum is one and it would be nice to see, what your thoughts are pertaining to this album as a whole, and hear your impressions and ideas about what this albums message is overall. You really need to do Pnuema so you can then do the video drum cam of Danny playing it live in concert. It will dispell any thoughts you may have that he plays with a backing track. It's breathtaking and unbelievable, you won't be disappointed. Keep the great content coming, you've found a very receptive fan base that enjoys and revels at being able to watch someone listen to a Tool song for the 1st time. ✌🤘
My favorite track on the new album, because since turning 50 this year, I just completely identify with the lyrics. Struggling to remain relevant...consequential...and old warrior trying to stave off old age and technology that is grasping at my ankles in my work.
Don’t pump our egos too much. We already walk around feeling like we’re surrounded by idiots. 🤣🤣🤣
Big facts
We do. Until they open their third eye.
Dig the name brother
Because we are.
@@jonib5881 amen 🤣
That art is a spiral. And eye. And rows of beings. Listen to Third Eye. Then you will get it.
I think it's an ode to the central theme of Fear Inoculum. Being judged by a set of several eyes aka their fans who are longing for the new album and the fear of whether they will live upto the expectations and how they inoculate themselves against that fear. From "Venom in mania" to "The tempest must be just that", this theme recurs itself throughout the album. Orbit could be a snake like they mentioned. Either way the idea of "venom" is evident.
@Benjamin McCann Tool fans try not to speak about other Tool fans in a condescending way.
I say do the whole discography!!🤘🏿
es the 2+1 which is three, continuing in this mathematical progression. That's how they found the chord progression. It began linking up to the Fibonacci sequence." The syllables Maynard sings in the first verse follow the first six numbers in the pattern, ascending and descending in the sequence 1-1-2-3-5-8-5-3. "Black (one), then (one), white are (two), all I see (three), in my infancy (five). Red and yellow then came to be (eight), reaching out to me (five). Lets me see (three)." In the next verse, Maynard begins with the seventh number of the Fibonacci sequence (13), implying a missing verse in between. He descends back down with the following pattern; 13-8-5-3. "As below so above and beyond I imagine (13). Drawn beyond the lines of reason (eight). Push the envelope (five). Watch it bend (three)." The second verse adds the missing line to complete the sequence; "There is (two), so (one), much (one), more and (two), beckons me (three), to look through to these (five), infinite possibilities (eight)." 1-1-2-3-5-8-5-3-2-1-1-2-3-5-8-13-8-5-3.[
No matter race, language, age. Everyone can relate to this band in one way or another.
This Band has been on a different level for 30 years
Its exactly the same live!!!!! Best concert of my life
7empest next boys? You won't be disappointed!
Agreed my friend! At least stay on the new album for a while..
Agree - great raw song to play after this melodic journey
I saw that live, amazing!
@@danlee7923 Sir, I envy you... Definitely my fave song off the album... Was listening to it last night and was wondering what it would be like to experience it live.
@@SerenityNow331 they're in the teething stages, but it sounded incredible. Hearing the opening riff sent shivers down my spine. I heard the sound and thought, nah they're not going to play that, but they did anyways. I heard it when they played for the first time live, and I hope that they'll get better at it. I want to listen to it again in all it's gloryness.
Dudes same thing happened to me when I was getting into tool music, i went to a gas station and out of nowhere a dude parks his car to pump gas and he was blasting all volume up to 11 to forty six & 2 and then I saw the dude was mexican like me and he was headbanging and shit, he waited until the song was over to get out of the car, I live in a small town in the middle of kansas so as you can imagine finding another mexican dude who likes tool was not a coincidence it was like as you said the universe was telling I was in the right path, oh by the wat that dude and I became really good friends we've been in 3 tool concerts .
You guys need to react to Lateralus, it’s actually the only song that they incorporated the Fibonacci Sequence into the timing of the song, also it’s one of their best IMO
The Tool Army came through! Love that you saw a girl with a Tool shirt on before doing this. Loving your reaction. It’s a great distraction right now.
The solo in the middle of the song, when they change up the riff and time, is actually the bass.
It wasn't until I saw them live that I realised it was JC playing the bass. Amazing!!
Saw them live and figured that out!
The time signature stays the same, but that’s a damn awesome tempo change.
Vic Firth released a live drum cam recently of their track Pneuma. It will give you a whole new appreciation/insight as to what goes into the drumming. Not only that, you can hear everybody else in the band crystal clear. Would enjoy watching it on here with you guys! Take care.
My absolute favorite part of tool reactions with multiple people is watching them vibe off of different rythmns they pick up on and how they almost look out of sync but yet they aren't. Just pure magic!
Lol your right... it's the Fibonacci sequence if you ask me
This album was over 25 years in the making, it encompasses everything they've grown into. Riffs, builds, lyrics. They put it here. Maynard even tying his 3rd band (current) Puscifer into certain tracks. It's a beautiful album and worth the 13+ years we had to wait for it.
MJKisLegend...But it was totally worth the wait👍
Wait, where do you hear Puscifer tones?
@@willu842 Grand Canyon - Fear Inoculum, also alot of his vocals and specific tones have been built up and experimented with over the past several years with Puscifer.
In truth, the album was finished, packaged and ready to go in 2009. Maynard claimed he wasn't sure it was all it should be and wouldn't release it for 10 more years. In truth, it was being hexed and cursed by satanic priests during all that time. That's how it got all 10 spots on Billboard's Top 10 List, knocking every other artist off the list. No other artist/band had done that, not even the Beatles. Taylor Swift accomplished it since, and no one else. It's quite a feat, I'll say that much, Trash Talkers
“Weapon out and belly in...” gets me every time.
Fret 2 Fret me too. Such a great line.
Hey, when ya pause it, you can just leave it without the other music lol. Great stuff guys.

Tool is an occultic band. Danny has images all over his drums over the years. The eye is the all seeing eye - the third eye. They have a song dedicated to it called "Third Eye" you should react to. It's a journey.
Lots of secrets in this band. They've helped me change the trajectory of my own life and led me down paths I would have never found. There's so much to discover. Keep digging, keep questioning.
They’ve been my favorite for the last 16 years, always makes me feel good when I get to watch others experience it for the first time. Almost like listening to it again for the first time
Thank you!
I recommend you listen to Pushit, specifically the live version off the album “Salival”
I just bing watched all of your tool reaction videos and it really brings joy to my heart to see you get into the rabbit hole that's the art of Tool, spiral out my brothers!
Seeing people like you just stepping into the experience that is Tool for the first time makes me so happy and jealous at the same time because I wish i could go back and experience that feeling of discovery again. Welcome to the Tool Army brothers!
I feel the same
Pneuma & Descending are my favorites from the album. The entire album is a masterpiece though. There's just a more epic and grand feel to it than their earlier works. And Danny Carey was absolutely possessed on those drums. Do it all!
This song could be easily interpreted as the band members getting older and starting to feel their age. They still sound great, but at the same time the world has started to move away from rock. They don't know if they're still relevant, or if they are, how much longer will they remain so.
I'd love to hear you reacting to The Patient from Tool. It's a song that's carried me through some rough times, and "I must keep reminding myself of this" has been my motto for the last 19 years.
I totally thought Maynard was making fun of himself with this song.
Interesting take on a sad reality. I'm a huge fan of electronic music, but I love me some guitar led rock. I hope it comes back.
CVBlacksworth Eon Blue Apocalypse into The Patient, will forever give me chills and send me nearly into tears. EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!
You guys will flip out over Pneuma. Seriously!!! It’s so amazing. It’s a transcendent experience
This song is so relevant to now. His voice and this age. WOW! My favorite off of FI!!! Masterful
I'm 67 now but every day of my life was a struggle. This song sums up my life, I raised 4 girls by my self on a minimum wage job. Thank you Tool for reminding me I'm not alone.
One of the most wonderful things about listening to T00L is hearing an album from start to finish. it's like a journey try that when youve completed an album.

Huge Tool fan in the house. I just finished listening to all of your Tool reactions, and you've won me over. I've now subscribed and can't wait for more Tool!!
I'm down a rabbit hole of watching people react to and discover Tool, and I LOVE IT! no regrets!
You have to do A Perfect Circle next. Maynards other band. If you listen to “The Noose” and “Gravity” you’ll be hooked. I’m 54 and I’ve been following this journey since I was in my 20’s. I never get tired of this music. It’s the only band I still pay to see live.
Let’s go boys. Check out deftones too, white pony album has a track with Maynard. Passenger.
I love people discovering Tool for the first little while, I’ve been a fan for 30 years, AND THAT AWE NEVER FADED, NEVER!
Mad love for the review boys. Tool's my favorite band since I was 13. I'm 42 now and they are still the only band that I constantly listen to. I've seen them live 5 times and I'm about to see em again. Can't wait!
This song does NOT follow the Fibonacci sequence
Yeah, someone learned something new and was eager to show off lol
I think they confused the odd time signature with the Fibonacci sequence.
I don't think they were being literal about it.
Who cares, they’re trying to feel tool.
Where am I? Shitsfucked I was just correcting a mistake.
Ha it's always fun watching others enjoy tool. I may be a little late but the artwork is definitely Alex grey and the producer is Joe baressi who also produced their last album. I'm sure you've had all the songs recommended by now lol but 'the patient' off off the lateralus album is one I would highly recommend 🙂. Enjoy the tool my friends 👍
I'm 50 years old now. I fought in two wars over 24 years in the Army. My first war i turned 21 during the deployment. The second war i was 33 years old. I am now the character in this song...a warrior struggling to remain consequential. Transitioning out of the Army into a world that is so foreign to the military culture. Its a struggle!!!
Well done boys! This entire album is face melting. You got me to sub
You guys will love the song Lateralus. And it actually follows the Fibonacci sequence
My Guys,
First off, thank you for these videos and welcome to the beginning of what was for me the most important musical discovery of my life.
With that, there's about a hundred million things I want to talk to you about, but for now I'll stick to the meaning of this song. You guys were pretty close with your thoughts on it being about war. That's part of it, but it's actually far deeper and way more emotional. It's sung from the point of view of a man whose glory days as a warrior have now passed. The whole song is him reflecting in sadness that everything he is and was is now gone with age and the fact that these virtues no longer matter to the world around him. He beats his chest, he pounds his drum, he screams his warriors cry but there's no place left where he can be what he's always been.
When you listen to it from that angle, it's really one of the most beautiful songs you'll ever hear.
The age aspect is something we will all someday understand, but I think the other aspect resonates really well with some men these days. Designed and tuned to manifest all the positives of masculinity throughout time, in a phase of history when masculinity itself, even the powerfully good parts are being torn apart.
"Cry out loud, Bold and proud. Warrior, struggling to remain relevant."
I gotta say, you guys are pretty great together.
Being in the music industry makes your insight super insightful which is great to see.
Appreciate your effort you two!
Guys.. I just discovered your channel last night @ about 11pm. It's now 5:30 am the next day! I've been watching you two fall in love with Tool for over 6 hrs! And yes, they are the best band in the world! Great video! Thanks!✌
I was able to see them play this. I can’t describe how beautiful it was. Hope you have that opportunity someday. Their last concert was at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.
Pnuema, Descending, Tempest.
Beautiful. Love that you guys love this very majestic song. Stunning!!!!
Much love brothers I enjoy watching you guys dig these tunes and for sharing the same appreciation and respect for how amazing they, truly one of the best bands on the planet
Just subbed to see more Tool reactions. If you loved this you'll love everything off Fear Inoculum. I suggest starting with the title track Fear Inoculum. With this whole coronavirus talk going around, it seems fitting.

I fell in love in 97 too! I’d just started high school and quickly became obsessed. Them and deftones hit me at the exact same time. It was a really good year 😂💜
Your videos are the shit!!!!! Watching you guys is like watching myself - the way you respect Tool being from an opposing genre is much appreciated by their fans! Subscribed!!
Yo...love the reaction, love the hype, and the smoke, AND the bud light...but ya talked through the best part of the best breakdown...still, much love...keep it up!!
Love the Reaction There will never be another TOOL. My favorite Band. The eyes stand for your Third Eye as u see many it's the reflection of everyone in unison opening their third eye (hence their song by the same name) To be enlightened to reach out beyond. To know there is more than this. To think out the box and experience all that there is. We are all Eternal all this Pain is an illusion. You guys should listen to Lateralus, Vicarious , & Parabol/Parabola then take a listen to Led Zeppelin's No Quarter then listen to Tool's cover. It will blow your minds.
This is the battle track I play every shift as I head in to face covid.

Hey Guy 1st I appreciate both of you for sharing & joining the TOOL army journey. I have been on this ride since 93 & it's been the best multi-facet learning experience in understanding music, metaphysics, spirituality,.. man the list can go on. But I'm glad you guys are on board, definitely check out some albums that are special editions with videos and the music, this visual art work will blow your mind and a symmetry is amazing I do believe that there are three or four of them. I hope get a chance to do it on a TOOL Tuesday... ENJOY, EVOLVE & ENLIGHTEN ...

Dude, you want to get absolutely carried away then listen to Descending.
The crown jewel on Fear Inoculum. Stunningly beautiful song.
💯 my personal favorite on the album. Invincible a very close second, but Descending holds a special place in my mind 🔥 Lyrics a must!
Descending - hauntingly amazing in these times
I'm still pissed off at tool. I saw them in Vegas in January hang on and they took a 20-minute intermission instead of playing descending. I've seen them four times and I knew I would be seeing them playing a lot of the same songs as before, but with the exception of Numa, fear inoculum and invincible, it was literally the same songs I heard the other three times I saw them and it's annoying. I mean, two nights before the Vegas show they played the patient in Fresno and we didn't get anything from the Vault, just the base shit they always play.
Lateralus, Ticks & Leeches, Disposition/Reflection/Triad, Aenima, Pushit, Judith (A Perfect Circle), .... so many great songs. Go with the original audio and pull up the lyrics seperate. Because often the original audio has way better quality than the most lyric-videos.
Salute, Bros! Always fascinating to see people discover this level of artistry/musicianship for the first time.
Still rolling at 52. Tool soldierfor 30 yrs. Gonna keep watching you guys go down the Tool rabbit hole as an older guy here I concur with your other commentator I love watching younger generation listening to my generations music and being blown away keep rocking my dudes
Produced by "evil" Joe Barresi and Tool. Recorded and mastered on 2" magnetic tape old school analog. Best sounding album production I've heard since the 80's with Queen albums or Boston's debut album.
If you think that, you're completely blinded by nostalgia. Just saying. Listen to Jon Hopkins if you want to hear real innovation in terms of production
@@irockmajorly I just read what was on the album jacket, followed by my personal opinion. Popular albums of great quality that people can relate to because they have heard those albums. Coming from a Tool fan, it's fantastic to see people appreciate the beauty of Tool like you both do. More than a band. 🙏
I feel like this is the way they felt approaching this new album, that they had been out of the fight for a while, gotten older, but went back into the battle one more time, weapon out and belly in, to assert themselves and their music as still relevant and consequential. I'd say it was a total victory. Appreciate the reacts, guys - keep it up! Be safe.
I got to hear this the first time they ever played it after the 13 year wait. It was the first new music from my all-time favorite band, and I got to be front and center of the crowd. The absolute chugging at the end was probably one of the most incredible things I've ever seen live.
Whoever keeps recommending lyric videos is behind the times. They’ve mostly been blocked since the new album dropped, so just pull them up on your phone to look at as you go or to look over at the end.
Ooohhhh, just noticed my fav lyric video has not been blocked! Tool’s cover of Led Zep’s No Quarter: czcams.com/video/SWZ2ylQpXtU/video.html
They are a Tool to make you see?
Now thats a good way too look at it
I came for TOOL. I subscribed because you guys get it. Enjoyed that.
This song is obviously about Maynards inner thoughts about his/TOOLS music still being relevant in today's age of music. He is the warrior. Struggling. To remain. consequential/ relevant.
The whole band wasn't sure if the new album would be accepted now A days. Songs over 10 minutes. People have such short attention spans. I think the world has shown them that we still love TOOL and i hope it doesn't take another 13 years to release another album!
Guy on the right looked stoned out of his mind. lol
AnTTr0n he is just sleepy. :)
I said the same thing😂
my request has been granted. ty. hope you liked it.
yes it has my friend and such a good request at that...probably one of my fav songs right now. thank you so much
@@Hollywood6IX if you do lyrics, pull them up separate and just look at them if you need to. don't read along to them because you will not pay attention to the music if youre just reading along.
You two boys have just started your journey to Tool heaven, enjoy 👍👍👍😎😎
Thank you for this reaction!
This song is from their new album that came out last August.
You were talking about putting in time when making songs and how they're always better when you do that.
It took Tool 13 years, 3 months, and 29 days to release this album.... and you can clearly tell :)
