    In this video, Little Mike draws a diagram that explains the Splitting the Difference contact points. He also shows us position plays. Little Mike also gives me a drill to practice that will help with feel and controlling the cue ball.
    I hope these video lessons help you as much as it helped me. Also check out some of our other videos which I am certain will entertain or help you with your game.

    Ken/Mike - great series. Ken, listen to the man and commit to the system and pre shot routine; this is why we don’t improve in any sport as much as we want to because it is difficult to reboot our old flawed perceptions to a new way. I play snooker and billiards rather than pool in Edinburgh, Scotland and your videos popped up. Even on the larger table with smaller balls and tighter pockets, the aiming system does work.
    It is essentially the full, half, quarter, edge angle aim system, but the beauty of Mike’s system is how it is a much easier and repeatable (essential) way to visualise and calibrate your aim to achieve these angles. It is so easy to achieve these angles without having to think in those terms, and has the great benefit of a giving a much sharper focal point on the object ball. I had a problem in identifying the aim point with consequence of lack of confidence in aim and stroke. No wonder I got frustrated missing some really simple stage 1 or stage 2 angle shots. Not any more! And together with Mike’s much lighter anti twist grip and pre shot routine, I am now cueing through the ball much better. Like Ken, I have a tendency to ‘hit’ hard and down at the cue ball rather than a smooth level stroke through the ball like Mike.
    I’m not yet convinced of the way to apply side spin (english to you guys!) in snooker to any shot other than when cue ball is close to object ball due to the deflection over longer distances. I’m finding the traditional ‘parallel cueing to centre ball’ aim is still preferable.
    But I am finding the aim system combined with a very small touch of inside contact on the cue ball to prevent poor cueing on the ‘wrong’ side is like night and day compared to before. Keep it coming!
    (btw, thank goodness the guy commentating on Mike in the tournament in one of the early videos explained the nickname! With the greatest respect to you Mike, I suppose if the other player did not know of your history in the game and you turned up in those great jeans and t-shirt he might have thought ‘who is this guy?’ And then two minutes later when you had cleared the table, he would be in total shock!)

    Ken, listen to Mike. He is trying to teach you to have a per-shot routine. Follow the routine on every shot no matter how easy the shot may be. It's like a dance routine, 1, 2, 3, 4 shoot, 1, 2, 3, 4 shoot, you do this routine over and over. Your getting better. Good luck with your surgery.

    I just got what Mike means by "horizon" after watching a few times. Depending on your angle you'll be able to see the point differently where the ball leaves the felt. The farther you move the cue ball to the right increasing the angle the farther the "horizon" (or point where you can see the ball leave the felt) increases to the left.... Freakin' genius.

      Hi man, that looks great. Thanks for another video to explain the system. I've practiced for a few times. Splitting the difference works perfectly but i'm struggling to find a point to aim in a raising shot. Is it 9 or 8 o'clock on an object ball if I talk about left side?
      Another thing, if it's more than almost straight but less than raising and both balls stay quite far from the poket How does it work? I miss both shot raising and split the difference one.

    Thanks for posting this. I have two more questions if you'd be so kind: 1) When aiming rail shots, and he says to hit the ball and rail at the same time, is there a specific "reference point" for the aim? 2) I've been using the system, but have been struggling with Edge-to-edge alignment. Often I am over cutting with edge-to-edge. Is there a reference point in-between Horizon and Edge-to-edge? Like 1/8? Is there a better way of lining it up?

    Hi so just to be clear you hit the cue ball in the center every time, be it bottom center middle center or top center ? ( as a beginner not worried about English shots yet ) So if you draw a line with your cue from center of cue ball to target the tip of the cue would hit either split the difference or horizon target ?

    • @FaDaVlogs

    I know its aim to center then pivot to 3/4 for less than boomerang...so the steeper cuts its aim to 3/4 then pivot to edge. Correct me if im wrong. Then what is the next step aim to edge then pivot a quarter past the edge? Thanks I like your system, best ive seen, and i was a 15 year real good just straight aim for contact point shooter. Mike your a good man. (I think anyways lol)

  • @SM-rd3wd
    @SM-rd3wd Před 6 lety +2

    Thank you. So only pivot over on the split the difference shots? The horizon is just aim to the horizon area and fire? And the edge is just aim at edge and fire? Sorry its just unclear on the videos in this area. I get the split the difference... but do you pivot a quarter over from the horizon and pivot over a quarter from the edge in the same way? Thanks for your time and hope to meet you all one day! Im right up from louisville ky. Prayers for your medical issue

    • @FaDaVlogs
      @FaDaVlogs  Před 6 lety +1

      Little Mike says he wants everyone to pivot on every shot starting with center of the object ball. This will slow you down and give you a preshot routine. It will also get you more consistent by making you focus on the contact point then to just jump straight to the point. 👍

      @ShipleyJack Před 5 lety

      @@FaDaVlogs Kenny do you think this somehow works for both half ball AND quarter ball hits? Still trying to get my head round it but if the OB has some distance to travel there must be different aiming points and contact points. I tried the 'horizon' shot the other day and kept hitting too thick until I realised that it was a quarter ball shot and adjusted for that by aiming a quarter ball to the left of the edge of the OB. As I've said before, perhaps you and Mike are adjusting subconciously/automatically for these shots as Mike doesn't seem to have a quarter ball aiming point.

    • @FaDaVlogs
      @FaDaVlogs  Před 4 lety +1

      No difference in 25 or 75. Just one side or the other. As for horizon, I just aim the center of the cue ball at the edge of the ball. That's how I've been doing it.

    • @pimbech
      @pimbech Před 4 lety

      @@FaDaVlogs thanks for your reply and awesome videos. By aiming to the edge you aim at 3 o clock or 9 o clock at the far and of the object ball? Because it seems that Mike says he aims at a wider area that is more like 7 o clock till 9 o clock (if that makes any sense).

    • @FaDaVlogs
      @FaDaVlogs  Před 6 lety +1

      I've asked him the same question and he said you should always pivot to get into a set routine unless it's edge to edge.

    • @ShipleyJack
      @ShipleyJack Před 5 lety

      @@FaDaVlogs Yet earlier he said you just get down and aim straight at the 'horizon', (which he said is just another name for the edge of the OB) with no 'splitting the difference', no pivot or anything else. In other words it is what most other instructors call a half ball hit and they tell you to aim directly at the edge. So no great mystery about where the OB leaves the felt, just aim at its edge.

    • @ShipleyJack
      @ShipleyJack Před 5 lety

      The hard part is working out if it is a half ball shot or a quarter ball shot. Mike does not appear to have an aiming point for quarter ball shots, just lumps them both together as 'horizon' shots. Perhaps he just uses his years of experience and so adjusts subconciouly/automatically. Or maybe I'm missing something here :)
